CH.42

Annalynn’s pov

When I left from meeting with Mikael I went straight up to my room and waited a few minutes before texting Aspen to let her know I was back. Hardin mind-linked me and said him and Jakob would be back in a few minutes and when they got back to come up to his office. Aspen called me and asked if I got the recording and I told her yes. I told her I felt so uncomfortable being around him and didn’t ever want to be alone with him again. When Hardin and Jakob got back I went up to my brother’s office and let them listen to what was said. Jakob growled and Hardin said he was proud of me for standing up and saying no to him. I told them I didn’t want to be alone with him again so next time he wants to meet, someone was going to have to be with me or at least be really close to me. Hardin told us Zeke just texted him saying Mikael had left the packland and Daphanie still hadn’t come back. Jakob asked me if I wanted to go out for dinner and I smiled and said I would love to.

Hardin looked at me and said, “that sounds like a good idea why don't we all go out for dinner tonight and have a little date night. I glared at my brother because I knew what he was doing. He wants to watch me whenever I'm with Jakob to make sure we behave but so far we haven’t broken any promises and we don’t act all lovey-dovey in public like he asked us not to do until all this was over. Hardin smiled at me while I was glaring at him and I said I really hope this crap is over soon so I can enjoy having a mate without being babysat. Aspen and Jakob both busted out laughing and Hardin said, “well I wouldn’t have to babysit you if you weren’t mated to a male w***e” and laughed.

Jakob gasped and said, “hey now I've been good and haven’t done anything I promised not to do and I know I'm not pure like you were but that doesn’t make me some s*xual deviant who is only about that. I love your sister and want to build a relationship based off of all aspects, not just that one.” I stepped in and said well if we are all going to dinner I think we need to go get ready so we can figure out where to go eat. Everyone agreed and we headed to our rooms. I texted Jakob and asked what he planned on wearing so I knew how to dress and he said, “just dress in something that’s casual beautiful.” I picked out a pair of jeans and a pretty top and wore my new boots. When I got done getting dressed I walked to Jakob’s door and knocked.

He opened the door and started smiling, he said, “you look beautiful Annalynn.” I smiled and said you look very handsome, Jakob.” I asked if he had talked to Hardin or Aspen and he said he hadn’t.

We walked up to their floor and knocked on the door. Aspen opened the door and said, “oh thank god we all dressed casually I’d hate to have to go change.” Jakob and I laughed and I said I’d rather do something simple for dinner. Getting all dressed up is more for parties and special dinners. She nodded and let us in. she said, “Hardin will be out in a minute he has to change his shirt and shoes.” We stood there for a few minutes waiting for my slow poke brother.

When Hardin finally came out of his room we headed down to the car. I asked where everyone wanted to go eat and everyone said wings at the same time. So we headed down to our favorite wing place.

Evander’s pov

I was sitting in the living room area when I saw Beta Jakob, Alpha Hardin, Luna Aspen, and Miss Annalynn head out the door. I figured they were going out for dinner since everyone was dressed nicely. I sat there waiting for Alexander to come down so we could get ready for dinner. While I was waiting I caught a faint smell and it had my wolf Angus stirring. I got up and followed the smell and the more I walked towards it the stronger and sweeter the smell got. I thought it may have been something the kitchen was cooking for dessert but then I realized it wasn’t something being cooked. This smell was coming from a young woman who was sitting in the kitchen talking to one of the kitchen Omega’s. When I walked into the kitchen the young woman froze and slowly turned her head. She stood up and Angus said, “mate” I asked him if he was sure and he said, “yes you stupid human I can sense our mate.”

I asked her for her name and she blushed and said, “Hi my name is Brie Whitley, who are you?” I said hello Brie, my name is Evander Tiffin. My twin brother and I are new pack members. She blushed even more and said, “it’s nice to meet you Evander. I guess you and I are mates.” I smiled and said it seems like we are. I asked if she would want to go for a walk after dinner and talk. She nodded and said, “I would love that Evander.” I reached for her hand and kissed the back of it and said until then beautiful. I walked back into the living room area and saw Alex coming down the stairs.

I motioned for him to come to me and when he walked up he asked what was wrong. I told him nothing was wrong but I did have something to tell him. He asked what was going on and I looked around then whispered to him that I found my mate. He looked at me and said, “you found you're what?” I said my mate Alexander, I found my mate. He looked at me and then told me he was happy for me and said, “let’s go eat now” We walked into the dining hall and sat at our table, once the food was brought out we fixed our plates and sat there.

Alex asked me what my mate's name was and I told him it was Brie and told him we were going for a walk after dinner to talk. I told him he needed to get out of the packhouse more and see if his mate was here as well and he laughed and said, “I don't have time to go search for my mate Van, right now my main focus is training and becoming the guard to the Luna and Alpha’s sister.” I nodded and said I agree with what he was saying and that that is where my focus was as well but I didn’t go out looking for my mate. I found her just by sitting in the packhouse. After dinner, Alex went back upstairs and I went outside and waited in front of the packhouse for Brie to show up so we could go for a walk.

I sat there for about 10 minutes before I saw her walking up to the packhouse. When she came up to me I said hi to her and she blushed and said hi back. I reached for her hand and she let me take it in mine as we walked away from the packhouse. While we walked around I asked how old she was and learned she was 18 just like Alex and I. I learned that she was friends with the girl named Daphanie that Beta Jakob told us about and I learned that she was nothing like that girl. She asked me my age and where my brother and I were from so I told her about our pack being slaughtered a year ago and how we came all this way from Maine in search of a pack to call home. She had tears running down her face when I told her about what happened to our pack and she told me she was so sorry that my brother and I had to go through that. I pulled her close and said it’s ok sweetheart if things hadn’t of happened then I wouldn’t be here holding my mate close to me. She smiled and kissed my cheek.

I could feel myself blushing. She asked if I was ok and I nodded then I told her this was all new to me. I had never had a girlfriend before and that was the first kiss I had ever been given on the cheek by a girl other than a family member. She looked at me and said, “if you haven't had a girlfriend before that means you are pure?” I looked her in the eyes and said yes sweetheart I am pure. I wanted to wait until I found my mate before I ever did anything and after what happened to my pack my brother and I kept moving, we didn't have time to find girlfriends because we never stayed in one place long enough and for me girls were the least of my worry with trying to survive and find us a new home. I asked her if she was still pure and said that even if she wasn’t that was ok with me because I know I'll be the last person she is with. She put her head down and said, “unfortunately I am not pure. I have been with only one person from this pack though.” I told her it was ok that she wasn’t.

We sat down on a bench that was on the sidewalk at the south end of the packland and when Brie looked around she started to panic and asked if we could go back to the packhouse and sit inside. I asked if she was ok and she sighed and said, “it’s the guy I was telling you about that I have been with. We were never in a relationship it was just s*x but he is very possessive of me and he lives down this way.” I nodded and said let's go back. We went back to the packhouse and sat in the living room area and talked for a while longer then I asked to walk her home. When I took her home I was on my way back and I saw the Alpha’s SUV pull in. It slowed down when it got close to me and Beta Jakob rolled the window down and asked if I was ok. I said I'm perfect and smiled. Luna Aspen told me to get in so I did.

Once I got in the car, the Luna and Alpha’s sister kept looking at me funny, then the Alpha’s sister said, “NO WAY!” I didn’t know what to say back to her and the Alpha asked what was going on. His sister said, “Hardin, Evander found his mate.” I looked at her in shock. I asked how she knew and she said she could sense it. Everyone in the SUV kept saying they were happy for me and welcoming me into the mate club. Luna Aspen asked who my mate was and when I told her, my mate's name was Brie Whitley everyone in the SUV got quiet. I looked around at everyone and asked what was wrong. Luna Aspen said, “Evander, tomorrow I am going to get Brie to come up to my office and we are all going to talk ok?” I nodded and she turned back around.

What could the Luna need to talk to me and Brie about? We pulled up at the packhouse and Beta Jakob told me to go up and head to bed because Alex and I had training in the morning. I said yes Beta and went upstairs. I mind-linked Alex and told him to go to bed. We had training in the morning and he told me he was already in bed. I went to my room and went to bed.
