CH.20

(Hardin's pov)

After I got out of the shower I called out to see if Aspen would bring me a pair of boxers but she never answered I grabbed my towel and walked into the bedroom and saw Aspen sitting on the bed with her earbuds in. I laughed and shook my head at how cute she looked sitting there. I took a step towards the dresser but the video she was watching caught my attention. my beautiful mate and Luna was watching a p**n video. I got my boxers and put them on then stood in front of Aspen after a few minutes she looked up and she turned red and I asked what she was watching. she told me she was just watching funny videos but I told her she didn't have to hide anything from me and that I saw what she was watching. she put her head down and sighed then told me she was just curious to see how things are supposed to be done and to get ideas for when she was ready. I told her that we could watch them together and learn things together before bed. after I got dressed Aspen asked what we were doing today and I told her that I had some papers to look over but after that I was free she told me that Trini was coming to visit and she wants us to go out for lunch and dinner if Trini has time for dinner. I told her that sounded like a good idea and I couldn't wait to spend the day with my beautiful mate and her best friend. I kissed Aspen and headed to my office when I got there Jakob mind-linked me and told me he would be there in a few minutes, we have to go over the paperwork for the new townhomes that are about to be built and discuss the finances when Jakob came in the office door he looked p***ed off and I asked him what was wrong, he told me he is getting tired of seeing Walker talking to Annalynn about Mikael. he said,

"it's like Walker knows where I am and purposely has Annalynn meet him there so I can see them talking." I told Jakob to relax that maybe Walker is doing that so he can keep an eye on Annalynn and find out what Mikael's messages say he sighed and said I was probably right but it still bothers him because she is his mate but they can't actually be together yet and now they have to hide that they are mates until after Daphanie is dealt with.

we went over the paperwork and everything looked good so I signed everything and sat back. Jakob asked if I was ok and I said yeah just thinking. he looked at me and said,

"dude we've been friends since we were pups I know when something is bothering you so start talking." I told him I didn't think Aspen would like me talking to anyone about it and he said he wasn't going to say anything to anyone not even Annalynn if I asked him not to.

I sighed and explained to him that Aspen was still scared of mating but was opening up more to touching her and other things and that I caught her watching that video this morning. he looked at me said,

"Hardin I don't understand what the two of you are going through with that but if I was in your position I would probably be the same way you are. from what you are telling me you are doing everything a mate should, to show her you support her."

I told him I just wished I could find a way to help her deal with it and he smiled and said "dude you are helping her, think about it man you are showing her that not all guys are like the guy who hurt her, and Mikael. you are showing her there is more to being with someone other than s*x. you are showing her she can be loved and how beautiful she is and as you see she has come around a lot from when y'all first met." I told him he was right and that I am going to continue to help the love of my life get through it.

he said, "dude this is why I have always looked up to you I could tell when we were at a young age you were going to a bada** alpha and I don't mean physically I mean mentally." I told Jakob thank you for letting me get it off my chest and being such an awesome friend to me.

I looked at the time and figured I would go see if Trini had arrived yet I told Jakob that Aspen and I were going to be going out for a while with Aspen's best friend Trini, he asked if she was the one who was with Aspen at the ball and I nodded and told him that she turned out to be Wyatt's mate. he told me he would hold it down until I got back then I headed out and down the stairs only to bump into trouble. I looked up and said why were you heading up to my floor Ms. Perez? she said she needed to talk to me I looked at her and said whatever you need to talk to me about can either wait or you can talk to Beta Jakob because I have somewhere to be at the moment. she huffed at me and said,

"The last time I checked it was the Alpha's responsibility to listen to his pack members when they need to talk about something." I said, excuse me? Ms.Perez, are you questioning my duties as an Alpha? I don't have to listen to anyone in this pack unless it concerns threats to the pack or business.

she looked like she was about to pass out and stuttered the words "no Alpha" out. I said well now if you are finished you can go speak with Beta Jakob or you can wait until I am free to talk and I walked off before she could respond.

once I got downstairs I mind-linked Aspen and asked where she was, she replied saying she was in the kitchen getting a snack. I headed into the kitchen and there she was sitting at the island eating some carrots and celery, I wrapped my arms around her waist and kissed the top of her head, and said hey beautiful. I asked her when Trini was supposed to be arriving and she said,

"any minute now." I sat down next to her and grabbed a carrot off her plate and she swatted at my hand I laughed and said get used to it babe I'll be stealing more food from you than just that.

we sat there and laughed until I got a mind-link from Zeke the guard at the gate that a young lady was saying she was there to see the Luna.

(Aspen's pov)

Hardin got a mind-link from Zeke saying someone was here to see me, it has to be Trini I yelled as I ran out the kitchen to the front door. Hardin followed me out the door trying to tell me to slow down but I ignored him. I ran as fast as I could to the front gate once I saw the guard post I got really excited. I saw Zeke standing there talking to someone but he was blocking my view so I couldn't see who it was. I yelled Trini and I heard her squeal I ran out the gate and straight to her. by the time Hardin got to the gate me and Trini were hugging each other and squealing. I heard Zeke ask Hardin if all girls were this loud, Hardin busted out laughing and I glared at Zeke and said no we aren't I haven't seen my best friend in weeks and we have been together every day since we met. Zeke threw his hands up and said,

"my bad Luna."

we headed back to the packhouse to figure out what we were going to go do. once we had a plan Hardin had his Suv brought to the front of the packhouse, we got in and headed out to the mall. we decided to go do a little shopping but Trini was hesitant because she didn't have a lot of money I looked at her and said girl you are a soon-to-be Luna why hasn't Wyatt given you any money? she said he tried but she didn't take it she said it felt weird taking money from him. I shook my head and said Trini he is your mate and what is his is yours and what is yours is his. she said,

"I know but I feel bad for asking" I told her to get over it and tell her man when she needs money.

she said she would from now on, I told her not to worry about her total I would pay for what she wanted she tried to tell me, no but I gave her a look and she knew better than to argue with me. she bought a few things that weren't that much and I know why she did it. Trini has always been one to feel bad for asking for things but she knows with me that pride thing doesn't work and she caves. once we finished shopping we decided to go to Texas Roadhouse for lunch. Trini got a salad and a 6oz steak, Hardin and I ended up getting the same thing we both got a 23oz porterhouse and a half rack of ribs with a salad, steamed broccoli, and a baked potato. Trini looked at us like we were crazy then leaned forward and said

"how do yall order that much without being questioned on how yall can eat it all?" Hardin and I laughed and said we do get questioned sometimes but we usually leave some for leftovers.

Trini asked what we had planned next and I told her we were going to go hang out by the lake inside the pack and then we were going to dinner just the 3 of us. I asked Trini where Wyatt was today and why he didn't come with her and she told me he had to stay and do some work with his dad but he said to tell squirt, hey and he misses her and Alpha Charlie said hope all is well. I told her to tell Wyatt I miss him too and to tell Alpha Charlie everything is good right now and I'm doing my best to make him proud. Hardin looked at me and said,

"you make me proud to be your mate every day my love." I blushed and Trini started laughing and said get a room.

once our food arrived we ate and laughed at random things I had Hardin almost in tears from laughing at the stories I told of Trini and Wyatt. Trini told Hardin about my baseball days and how I got hit in the face with a line drive that Dayton hit at me and how I used to sit in my room and record myself singing to my posters. I know my face was bloodshot red after that but he just smiled and said that it was cute. after we finished our lunch we headed back to the packhouse and grabbed some drinks and snacks for the lake. Hardin decided to do some fishing while Trini and I sat there talking. I brought my Bluetooth speaker connected my phone and hit mine and Trini's playlist. we sat there and sang our favorite songs and watched Hardin fish. Hardin had walked further down the bank and Trini turned to me and said,

"ok now that Mr. hunky Alpha is over there talk."

I looked at her and said did you just call my mate Mr.hunky? she said, "Asp any girl in their right mind would be drooling over him and you know it so yes I called him Mr.hunky but don't forget I have a mate so there isn't anything there."

I just busted out laughing, she said "tell me what's going on before he comes back". I sighed and told her about everything we've been doing and that I'm not as scared to do stuff like that with him but I still freak out at the thought of going further and she said "Aspen you didn't do all that with the S.O.B who hurt you that's why your ok with doing those things but as far as s*x that's where the S.O.B hurt you. you have to remember Hardin is not him." I told her I know he isn't but it still terrifies me and I slip back into my mind and end up replaying that day.

she said, "you need to talk to Hardin about it and explain it to him so he doesn't think it's him causing you to freak out." I told her I would and she said "when you are ready make sure you shave or get waxed and wear something sexy but not sl**ty." she said with her it was different because it just happened but if I want to plan my special night out then do it how she told me.

I told her thank you for coming to see me and talking to me and that I needed it. she said she needed it too because she needed a break from the pack I asked what was going on and she said,

"your brother hasn't told you?" I shook my head and she said "he has been dating some girl who is from a neighboring pack but no one knows which one and she is a straight-up b**ch she thinks because she is dating Dayton she can be rude to whoever she wants because of Dayton's rank." I asked if she knew her name and she said it started it a D that was all she knew.

I stood up and said OH MY GOD IM GOING TO KILL THAT B**CH! Trini jumped and said "girl who are you talking about?" and I said DAPHANIE. Trini stood up and said, "who is that?" I told her Daphanie was the jealous b**ch who wants my man and can't have him and so she planned on getting rid of me so she could try to take Hardin.

I screamed and Hardin ran up to me and asked what was wrong, I said DAPHANIE is what is wrong. I told Trini to tell him what she told me and once she finished telling him he said,

"this could be a good thing baby."

I said how could this b**ch being at my parents be a good thing? he turned to Trini and said "does anyone other than Wyatt know you are here?" she said "Wyatt, Alpha Charlie, and my parents that's it." he said well we need to keep her out of sight baby we can use her to keep an eye on Daphanie when she is there." I nodded and said let's pack up and go get ready for dinner.

we headed back to the packhouse but before we got there Hardin mind-linked Jakob and asked him to check to make sure Daphanie wasn't around the front door or near the stairs. Jakob said it was clear and we ran up the stairs to get Trini up to our floor and in our suite. we got changed and then sat down and discussed where to go eat. we finally settled on a french restaurant named Blue Moon over France. Trini said she would follow us that way she could head home after dinner and we headed out.
