Chapter 26- Still Young

2411 Words
Sophie The past days of my stay had been great in Laurier’s mansion. I felt safe from Chase’s threat. The people surrounding me took care of me like family. The police had already informed us that they had been tracking Chase. He was named as one of the culprits in the recent burglary in our town. I was relieved to know and somehow secure. Erin, Mona, Luisa, and I went for a hike earlier. I’d leave the place tomorrow to meet Jose before returning to New York. “So…Do you know who’s the father?” I nosily asked Luisa as we sat on the couch, drinking our evening tea. We had just finished our dinner and waited for Erin to return and hang out with us. “Well, I know his name. But it's like finding a needle in a haystack in New York. Miguel said he’s from California too,” Luisa puffed, “Just my luck finding this wee one’s dad.” “I see…” I nodded, “Any plans? How far along are you again?” I added. Luisa was a nice and lovely lady from Australia who was on holiday in the States. However, her one-night man knocked her up. She was only two years older than me and the same age as Erin. “Five? Six-ish weeks,” Luisa heaved deeply, “If only I weren’t married, I would keep it,” she answered with sadness in her voice. “But I don’t want to abort it either.” “I hear you...” I mumbled. Luisa was married back in Australia, though she said it was an arranged marriage between her and her family’s business partners’ son. “So you’re staying here until you give birth?” I asked. “That’s the plan. I might try to find the baby daddy... “And if not?” Luisa looked at me. “Honestly, I am not yet ready to become a mom. I have many options since this was such a big mistake. Yes, I was on pills and even got an implant, but for some reason, Miguel’s super sperm got me!” she replied, rolling her eyes. I chuckled. “Yes, and that winner defied all odds and has to live to tell the tale!” “Erin said the same thing!” Luisa laughed. “Did you use condoms, though?” I asked again, somehow remembering Sammy and his stash of rubber. I silently hoped he didn’t knock me up too. “We did!” “Must have been a wild night!” Luisa giggled. “Actually, it was! It was great in bed, and we had a steamy night for hours!” she bluntly said with wide eyes. “I never had such a s****l experience with my exes or the guys I’ve dated. With him, I came multiple times! Like wow! My fanny was happy!” “Lucky you, but unlucky you got preggo!” I mocked, smiling at Luisa’s words. My carnal thoughts began to recall my hot night with Sammy. Luisa clicked her tongue. “Yes, that’s why you, Sophie…you are still young! Explore your boundaries like me! Enjoy s*x! Just don’t get pregnant! Don’t settle for less. Don’t let any man control your life. Be it with your personal or s****l life!” she continued, wiggling her brows. “Oh, I don’t think I am into that thing…” I sheepishly replied. Luisa’s brow arched. “Wait. Are you a virgin?” I shook my head. “Well, mine is complicated.” “Spill, sweety,” Luisa winked. I looked at Luisa and decided to confide in her. "Fine!" I said, taking a deep breath before telling her my life story. I opened up to her about my terrible experiences and troubles with Chase, as well as my shenanigans with Doctor Sammy. I explained how it all started and where I was now. It felt good to share my story with a friend I trusted. “Ohhhh…” Luisa smirked. “I am really sorry about your experience with Chase. We should tell Grey and Liam about the incident.” “Please don’t bother!” I said, “It’s settled now.” “Glad to hear. You've got an exciting life going on here, Sophie, though.” Luisa nodded. “Well, yes, she does!” It was Erin. My eyes gaped as soon as I heard Erin. “You didn’t tell me that part, Sophia Kay!” “Oh! I didn’t know you were listening!” I gasped. Erin snorted before sitting on the couch beside me. “Well, I was too busy pinning my ears back to let you know I was here all the time, sneaky and silly girl!” She poked my side and playfully pinched my arm. “Whatever. I'm glad you’ve heard it now. I didn’t need to tell you tomorrow on our drive back to the city!” I kidded before sipping my cold tea. “Well, I am happy for you,” Erin replied. Luisa smiled. "I'm glad to know about your life, even if it sounds awful because of Chase. However, your little sneaky and passionate bedventure with the doctor appears to be going well!" she sneered. “I agree!” Erin seconded, “So are you guys dating or what? What’s the status?” I shrugged my shoulders. “I don’t know. We are friends, but I don’t think what happened to us was a big thing.” “Hey! You little beauty, that was excellent!” Luisa scoffed, “I can feel that you like the man. You are not just sure because your last relationship f*cked you up, but try to see the positive side, eh!” she added. I was speechless for a moment. “Yes. Maybe…I don’t know what to do. Advice me, ladies!” “That one-night thing with Doc will continue, Sophie. Believe me. What I can say is make sure you’re on your pills, and he’s wearing a rubber!” Luisa advised, making Erin and me laugh. “That’s part of my plan now,” I agreed, learning from Elisha’s experience. Erin held my hand. “You are still young, Sophie. You are about to start a new life soon, and I believe there’s a great future waiting for you,” she seriously said. “Listen to her. She’s the expert!” Luisa teased, winking. Erin glared at Luisa before looking back at me. “Don’t enter a relationship if you aren’t sure about how you feel. I am not saying Sammy is not a great man, but he’s a doctor. As you mentioned, a professional who is busy and has things to prioritize other than you. You've got to weigh in, love.” I smiled at Erin. My cousin was a prim and proper type of lady. She was ever more careful about getting into a relationship. She came from a broken family. Her parents divorced when she was ten, and she grew up with her mom, who dated many men before getting killed in an accident. “Yeah. Maybe I’ll just enjoy my time with Sammy. Pure fun and bedventure!” I somehow concluded. There are no labels, no commitment, just a simple friendship with benefits while I am still young. Though we were okay and constantly communicating online, I knew the time would come when Sammy had to choose to concentrate on his studies and career. He only started and was steady-going until I came into his life. Luisa and Erin’s words kept me up all night. The connection between Sammy and me was purely physical at the moment. I was no expert in the bedroom department, and I wasn’t sure how Sammy would lead me in this so-called relationship. “We needed to talk and settle this soon….” I mumbled before getting a wink. That soon truly happened as soon as I returned from my holiday. My flight got delayed, and Elisha couldn’t pick me up, so I had to call Sammy. As always, he came to the rescue. We both missed each other, indeed. The kiss happened, and then, just like before, one thing led to another. We shared another passionate night in his bed. Not once but multiple times until it was time for us to go and see his family. Sammy and I had a great talk after our deeds. We decided to become special friends. Something looked right but felt wrong. Our drive was pleasant and great. We caught up on Elisha and Kyle. He mentioned how Kyle asked for his help. “I just felt bad for my brother. He seemed genuine about winning Elisha again,” Sammy said. “Yeah, better that he’s there for her. I will be working and traveling most of the time with Sam,” I replied, thinking of giving Kyle some slack and something that would benefit Elisha. Kyle was determined to find forgiveness from Elisha, but I trust Elisha wouldn’t give it right away. “You mentioned Elisha returning someone’s phone?” “Yes. That’s a cursed phone!” I laughed, remembering how Elisha answered Max’s phone calls from his parade of ladies. “For real? Can’t she buy a new one?” Sammy asked. I waved my hand and snorted. “That lady is saving money for her babies as if she’s going to be homeless again.” “She didn’t need to... I can give her a new phone.” I smiled. “No, it's okay. Elisha will not accept that.” It was part of my plan to gift her one. It was already eight in the evening when we finally arrived. Fortunately for us, our excuse to Sammy’s parents was the city's torrential rain and heavy traffic. It wasn’t new to them. “Elisha is in the library, Sophie. She hasn’t eaten yet,” Lark told us. “Sweet! I’ll check on her!” I looked at Sammy. “Go. I’ll prepare our dinner,” Sammy replied before leaving for the kitchen. I gently opened the library door to see what Elisha was doing. As usual, she was in front of the computer desk, listening to her favorite murder mystery podcast. It didn’t take a while for her to notice me. The smile and excitement were etched on her face as she welcomed me. “Heyyyyy…” I drew my sore arms wide, receiving her hug. “Mom…” Elisha embraced me tightly, “I missed you,” she added, crying. “I’m sorry for not picking you up... I forgot to write your number, so I called Sammy instead, but he wasn’t answering!” “Oh, come on... I answered your calls! I told you, he was asleep!” I broke the hug before wiping her tears. “Stop crying…” I rubbed her hair. “Why, though? So he picked you up? Why did you guys just come now?” “Maybe?” I rolled my eyes before making my fibbing excuse. “Traffic, rain... what else? It's your fault for handing back the phone.” Elisha laughed and wiped her tears.“I gave it back to my friend,” she answered, “He needs to see all the messages and answer important calls on his phone.” “Oh, I see...Let's buy you a new one tomorrow. How about a brand new iPhone!” I suggested. “No… I can only afford to buy the cheap ones.” As expected, Elisha disagreed. “Fine,” I sarcastically replied. “I need a laptop too. Nana said she couldn’t see the old one I had left back home. Mom probably sold it like what she did to my car,” Elisha added. “Ugh, that Devyn, the devil.” I grumbled, remembering the evil lady. “Yes, but it's fine. I can still use the desktop in their library in the NJ mansion.” “Yes! Since you love crocheting, we will buy you more colorful yarns and whatnot!” “Sure we will! Let's go. I’m hungry,” Elisha yanked my arms, and we walked out of the library. Elisha, Sammy, and I went for dinner together. It was already late, but Elisha waited to dine with us. We chatted while eating, and soon as Elisha felt full, she excused herself and returned to her room to call Tom using my phone. Sammy and I continued devouring the food on the table. We felt our hunger just now after some intense session in his bedroom. Elisha was already asleep when we went upstairs and opened her bedroom. It was the same room I stayed in the last time I was there. “See you tomorrow. Good night, Sophie....” Sammy whispered after helping me with my luggage. I smiled back at him. “Thanks. Take a rest and see you….” “You know my door,” Sammy smirked, “Just knock on it anytime, yes?” I gulped after hearing what he said. Again, I bet he didn’t mean anything like earlier, but my silly mind got the wrong message for the second time. “Oh…okay…” I pursed my lips, hiding my embarrassment. Sammy snorted before holding my chin up. He looked at my lips down to my protruding chest. “Even that thing running inside your head. Yes, I know you wanted to keep our thing discreet. But my bedroom is always open for you. Whenever you need a hand…or fingers…” he whispered the last words. My eyes widened, and my face truly felt flushed this time. His naughty words sent shivers down my spine. In a good way. “Stop…” My core throbbed for some reason. “Anyway. Gute Nacht, my sweet Sophie…” Sammy’s words were sexier than how he used to say them before. I looked to check on Elisha to check if she was still sleeping, then I stared back at Sammy. “Good night, doc….” I tipped on my toes and gave him a peck on his lips, then slowly brushed my lips near his ear. “Let me taste you next time…” I naughtily whispered before chuckling. I noticed how Sammy’s face turned pink as he beamed at me. “Yes, next time…my room here is not soundproof…but the library is…” he winked, then turned his back and closed the door quietly. xx
