Chapter 22- Our Feelings

1761 Words
Sammy “How’s Elisha?” Sam asked as soon as I answered the phone. I was about to take a nap after my twelve-hour duty. I anticipated Sophie’s call, but she was already busy in Florida. I inhaled deeply. “She’s okay. I put her on a drip to regain her energy and rehydrate her. She’s been puking all night,” I answered Sam. “I see…Kyle is too stubborn, and I don’t think he will back away just like that.” “Yeah, we almost clashed yesterday, but Elisha stopped us.” “I’ve heard, but keep your horses, lil bro. And thank you for keeping Elisha safe. I know Elisha, and I bet my bottom dollar she will make Kyle’s life miserable.” I smiled. “That's exactly how I feel. Let him taste his own dose of medicine.” Sam chuckled. “Absolutely. How about Sophie? Any news?” I puffed. “None so far, but we spoke last night. She seems okay and is already packing up and preparing for her big move.” I couldn't help but feel happy to know that Sophie would be moving to the city. Elisha wanted her near, so it meant she would stay with us though I knew her job would require her to travel often with Sam. I was excited as well. Sophie and I finally shared a memorable night, and I truly enjoyed it. However, I fell asleep after our one deed. I was so exhausted that I wished she had stayed. I knew Sophie wasn’t ready to tell anyone, especially Elisha. And I didn’t mind keeping it between us. “I am happy for you. I know you like Sophie, bro,” Sam replied, breaking my train of thought. “I like the company. I never had any since Demi and Jess,” I stated. Demi was my best friend and ex-girlfriend, and Jess was her sister. “She’s like Demi. Sweet and lovely but fierce. I bet you truly enjoyed Sophie’s company because she reminds you of your childhood love and friendship, yes?” Sam said. I went speechless after hearing Sam’s words. She was somehow right. Sophie’s bubbliness and sassiness were like Demi's. Though the former was down to earth. Demi was born with a golden spoon in her mouth, while Sophie had just the right love but didn’t have a complete family. “Yes. Anyway, where are you? You didn’t come home last night,” I asked Sam, changing the topic. “Oh, I am here in Philly. I am just waiting for Felicity to arrive. We needed to speak to someone to help her with her past trouble,” Sam answered. “What do you mean?” I curiously asked. There was a pregnant silence before Sam answered me. “Felicity and Elisha. They could be related…” I scowled. “Oh…” I was surprised, to say the least. “Yes, I can’t tell you the details yet, but could you get a blood sample from Elisha?” Sam said. “I see…I see…” My curiosity truly got me, but I trusted my sister and her law firm partner, Felicity. I had met her before, and now that Sam mentioned the relatedness between the two ladies, I could see the resemblance now. “Please don’t say anything to anyone, bro,” Sam mumbled. “Trust me… I will help you, but you must promise to share the tea.” “Yes, my favorite brother!” “Yay!” “Please give my baby Gideon a tight, big hug and kiss! I’ll be home soon!” “I will! Just call me. I am going to sleep to recharge, Sam. Take care, Tschuss!” I bade before hanging up the call. I smiled and heaved a deep breath before looking at my phone to check for any updates from Sophie. Nothing. I lay on my side and was about to close my eyes when I received a message. ‘Hey, Doc! Elisha told me what you did. Thank you so freaking much! Xx, I owe you a lot! Anyway, I have some changes to my plan. Erin and I are going to her workplace somewhere in a small town here in Florida. See you soon! And please rest! Bis Bald!’ “Oh, Sophie…” I smirked. Sophie’s lovely memories began to stir my thoughts. I still remember how she tasted and her body responded to my touch. “Damn…” I smirked, imagining Sophie’s soft hands all over my body. I believed she wasn’t an expert and didn’t sleep around. But I remembered her uttering another guy’s name from her past. It seemed like an unpleasant experience for her, and somehow I wanted to know the history. I quickly typed and replied, ‘Have a safe trip! Talk to you later, xx.’ I decided to get some snacks from the kitchen to forget my silly thoughts when I heard loud voices upon opening my bedroom door. “I don’t need you!” “Do you need help?” “I said I don’t need you!” “Open this!” I knew it was Kyle and Elisha. “Damn it, Kyle... I muttered and went next door. I saw Kyle banging on the door. El seemed to lock herself inside. “Sammy…help…” Kyle looked at me. “Move!” I glared at Kyle before knocking on the door. “El! I’m here! Open the door!” I calmly called her. I heard the door being quickly unlocked. “Sammy, help…” Elisha showed me her IV line. Her blood had backflow and had already filled half of the tube. “Oh, that’s okay,” I calmly said as I clamped the tube before walking her out of the bathroom to her bed. Her drip was almost empty, so I changed it, infusing her vitamins and medication. Elisha still looked sick, and I believed my brother wasn’t helping her. I feared the stress he was unknowingly putting on Elisha and her babies. “Thanks, Sammy,” Elisha looked at me, smiling even in her sadness. “No worries…” I smiled back at her, rubbing her arm to slightly ease the pain. “By the way. I needed to draw some blood from you. Sam wanted to make sure you’re okay, so she asked me to do it and send it to the hospital,” I said. It was better to do it now than later. “Again? That hurts,” Elisha’s eyes gleamed. I chuckled. “You’ll be fine.” “Where is Sam?” Kyle butted in. “In her office, but she’s on her way back here for lunch,” I answered before picking up the medic bag I had left earlier. I took the butterfly needle to perform a phlebotomy. I prepared Elisha to make sure she wouldn’t feel bad again. A while later, I finally drew a tube of blood from her. “I’m sorry…” I mumbled, seeing her silently crying. I truly felt terrible for Elisha, and thinking it was because of Kyle boiled my blood. “Who’s going to bring that sample?” Kyle rudely asked, as if it were his concern at all. I safely discarded the waste after labeling the vial before answering him. “Venn,” I said, standing up and facing Kyle. “Sam won’t like to see you here, Kyle... You better leave now,” I grittily warned. Then suddenly, Kyle gripped the lapel of my shirt. “You don’t f*cking say what I do, baby brother,” he taunted. I was surprised, but I was not afraid. I was ready to throw a square punch at him again if he dared to make a move. “Kyle…” “Kyle, stop,” It was Elisha. I looked at her to let her know I wasn’t threatened. Then I felt Kyle let go of me and heard him puff deeply. He knew what the consequences of his action would be this time. “I’m sorry,” Kyle apologized, patting my shoulder. “Go, give it to Venn.” I snorted, shaking my head as I looked at him and then Elisha. “See you later, El. I’ll let Nora bring your breakfast,” I said before leaving the room. I went back to my bedroom and called Sam right away. I told her that the vial of blood was ready. I took it inside my mini fridge to keep it fresh and usable for collection. I instructed her since I badly needed to rest and recharge my tired body. Sam quickly replied. She thanked me and said that Venn would be on his way to take them. After snoozing for long hours, I prepared myself to study again. I have been diligent lately and inspired to do my task on time. It had been a while since I had time for myself, like hanging around in the bar or meeting friends. I occasionally drink, and the incidents of the past few weeks have genuinely drained me. Gladly, Sophie came into my life, and she somehow helped me with my sanity. I truly desire her now. After our nearly intimate encounter in bed, it seemed I couldn’t get her off my mind. Nevertheless, I get lucky. Sophie and I unexpectedly ran into each other in the hallway. We were both thirsty, but one thing led to another, and we actually loved blowing off steam and gratifying our need for each other. Fortunately, we were still at ease with one another. I meant every message I sent to Sophie. I really missed her. I could still hear her loud whimpers and moans echoing across my entire room. It had been a while since I got laid. My carnal thoughts were slowly building in me, and before I could stop it, a tent was already saluting highly down south of my body. “Damn…” I snorted. All I could imagine was Sophie and how soft her body was when I last held and worshipped her. I knew she wanted it, but something was holding her back. I sensed reluctance and resistance. There was tension and pull between us. And our night in bed had already begun to reveal something. I wished we could break the barrier to see how deep our feelings for each other were. I would be open to having friends with benefits set up if Sophie needed more time to take this to the next level. xx 1/2
