The Wolf Within My Love

Chapter 9

    I walked out and watched his face light up at the sight of me. He held out his hand and led me to the back yard. There were wolves everywhere, like they weren't allowed to be in their normal forms.  Walking down the aisle that was only wolves, I kept my head up and straight only looking at the man at the end. I noticed the man was in all black, and so was my love Leo. 

    I had his arm so tight that he tightened his grip over mine. He was just as nervous as I was, but we kept each other calm and steady. Once we got to the end of the aisle the man smiled, he had a book in his hand that was old, leather but dark brown.  The man was older, wight beard, blue eyes, short hair, and was kinda handsome. 

    Turn to each other. We are all here to witness a change from human to wolf. Does anyone object to this change?”

    Leo looked around and saw no one objecting.

    “Lisa to agree to this change and to complete your bond with Leo?”

    “Yes”

    “Leo to agree to this change and to complete your bond with Lisa?”

    “Yes”

    “Then by the power of the blood you will share, you will be forever mates till death do you part.”

    Leo took the cup from a bush off to the side and bit his wrist letting the blood drip into the cup. Then once there was enough for the ritual. He licked his wrist and handed me the cup. I didn’t think about the fact that it was blood that I was about to drink, instead I told myself it was cranberry juice and started to drink. I drank it so fast that I didn’t even taste it. 

    I could feel it go down and a few minutes later, I wasn't sure if I was having a heart attack. The burn started in my chest and spread throughout my body. I bent over, and landed on my knees. My hands were burning, I looked down and saw crawls, hair started to grow all over, I could feel my ears grow, my teeth were sharp, my legs and arms started to go in weird ways. I could stand now that the pain stopped but I was taller than I thought I would be. I was slightly taller than the others. I felt strong, more than I had ever felt before. Everyone bowed to me, I could hear all of them. 

    “Welcome to the pack, we are of service.”

    I looked over to Leo and saw him standing next to me, I watched him shift. He was as tall as I was, ever stronger than me, I couldn’t help but to think that this was the man/wolf I was so madly in love with. He was mine and I was his, forever in the bond of the wolf. I turned around and looked at the woods, I bent down slowly and could see the trees and wildlife like it was a new world. I pounced into the woods and started to run, I ran for a while before everyone caught up when I slowed down. 

    I wasn’t tired and wasn’t weak, nothing on me hurt or was sore, I wasn’t out of breath from the sprint I had just done to the slower run I was now at. I found a river after running down a hill, I sat there and waited. Leo was the first one to show up, he sat down next to me and watched the water. Nothing was said even when the others came. They all laid down behind use until I turned around and started to walk back. 

    Once we got to the house, I could feel myself shift back and I was now standing in the backyard, the dress I was wearing was on the ground, I could feel the cold breeze brush against my skin. I walked inside after sending a good day to everyone in the pack. I was wide awake but also tired after the long run. 

    I walked up to my room and went to the bathroom, I started the shower and looked at myself in the mirror, I had dirt everywhere. I smiled as I touched my face, everything felt right again. Just as quickly as the smile came it vanished. My court date was coming up soon, even being here with Leo, I still felt like there was something that wasn’t right. I heard someone open the door, I peeked around to invite Leo to take a shower with me. 

    Who was standing there in my room was not Leo, instead it was the man that put me in danger and never loved me like he said he did. Branded was still in his look for revenge for me turning him in. He walked over and I didn’t move from my spot. He hit me so hard I was pretty sure Leo could feel it. Just as quickly as the sting from his hand on my face, rage hit me like a wall. I punched him so hard he went flying across the room. 

    There was power in my voice when I spoke these words. 

    “Get out and never come back, I never want to see again.”

    He looked at me like someone I never knew, rage was the emotion he was feeling.

    “You will see me again, and not only will I kill you, but I will torture you till you beg me to kill you.”

    He got up from landing on the ground from the force that I had pushed him with and ran out. I looked up at the wall and saw where he hit it, a hole from the impact was left as the only trace of his presence. I turned around and got in the shower wanting to forget about him ever being here. 

    Once I got out, toweled off, I walked out and saw Leo sitting on the bed, his hair was wet from also taking a shower. He was looking down at his hands, I walked over and sat next to him. He looked over at the wall and back down. I told him everything that happened and what was said. He stood up and looked at me with a hunger, I pulled him close and kissed him. He pushed me on the bed and made love to me. It was absolutely amazing.
