CHAPTER 5: Golden eyes

Victoria's POV

I continue walking my way back to the mansion. Ignoring Lexy's whines of exploring more.

I did not bother shifting back into my Lycan form and just walk. I don't feel like going back early but I need to go back there because I don't have a place to stay in the village.

"Why go back?" Lexy said practically shouting at me.

I roll my eyes

"You know we don't have a place to stay here and I don't want to experience again the rogue incident that happened earlier."

"But you handle them just fine" she argued.

"I know that, but what if grandma goes back earlier than we expected."

And when she is about to say something we heard noises from the distance.

Lexy immediately shuts up and I follow where the sound is coming from.

The noises became clearer and I heard shouting. I hide behind a bush and listen.

I know I shouldn't be listening to them because it is none of my business but my curious and nosy self won't let me.

I tense when I see four big guys that smell rogue. They are standing on the left and across from them is a slightly good-looking man with a girl and three more men from behind them that look like guards.

The guy has dark brown hair and a lean body, he is also about 6,2 inches tall. And the girl from his right has red hair, a petite body, and is about 5,5 inches tall.

I can feel the aura of the dark brown-haired guy. He is strong I can feel it.

"We don't have much time, you need to gather up as many rogues, vampires, and witches as you can." said the dark brown-haired guy.

"Brian, we already have hundreds of rogue, a few vampires, and only two witches." said the rogue in the middle. Guess he was their leader.

"But that is not enough, you need to gather as many as you can" yell Brian.

"We are trying"

"Well, try harder, the King is much more persistent to find her mate now." Brian growl.

My heart skip a beat when I heard him mention the King.

"Well, why don't you just let the girl marry the King." said the rogue in the middle point at the red-haired girl. "And when they are married, she can easily kill him." he continued.

Brian growl but said nothing guess he's the mate of the red-haired girl.

"As if the King would touch me, he is hell-bent on only touching her mate." snort the red-haired girl, speaking for the first time.

"But you are destined to marry the King when his mate doesn't show up before the war has started."

"Yeah, and she will become the Queen and we will plan on executing the King and I will be the one who is taking his position," said Brian. "And when that happens we will give you all the packs that you want, so gather up all creatures that you can, so the war can begin and the King will be forced to marry my mate and that's when the plan will start."

"But what if the King's mate shows up and ruins all of that?"

"Well, we will make sure that the King will never find his mate."

I gasp quietly

They are planning to execute the Lycan King and take over the Lycan Kingdom.

I quietly leave the bushes and slowly back away from them. When I'm far enough I begin walking my way back to the mansion.

Should I go to the palace and warn the King?

"Yes, we should," Lexy said worriedly. "I have a bad feeling about them."

"But we should not be concern about it because we are not a part of that war."

Lexy glared at me and said

"So you are going to just shrug it off knowing someone is going to die?"

I sigh

"I hate it when you're right"

She grinned

"I know"

I roll my eyes

"So where do we find the palace?" I asked her walking back to the village. I'm really happy about my power from keeping me and my feet from being tired.

"Wait, we will need a place to stay for the night, the sun is already setting and tomorrow we will continue our way there to the castle."

I nodded

"So where are we going to stay for the night?" I asked

"Um, I don't know?" she shrugged.

"Wow, thanks for the help," I mutter sarcastically. She just smiled sheepishly.

I just roll my eyes at her and continue walking back to the village but I froze remembering something.

I forget to freaking hide my scent!

I quickly hide it, hoping that no one catches my scent, and begin to walk again.

After a lot of walking and looking for a place to stay I finally found a medium-size house that has a spare room for me to rent for the night.

The lady is very kind and welcomes me warmly at her home.

I immediately head for the room. The room is nice. The bed is not big but it is also not small and I have my bathroom.

I dive into the bed and close my eyes, sighing.

Guess wearing heels while walking all day is not a very nice thing to do.

I headed to the shower after I strip the clothes I summon this morning. I step into the warm shower and let my sore muscles relax.

After I'm finished showering I summon pink pajama shorts and a matching top. And flop back into the bed and let the darkness consumed me.

Gold. I see the most beautiful golden eyes I've ever seen. They are glowing in the pitch-black night of our surroundings.

I continue to stare, I can't see his face but I know it's a guy, a tall and muscular guy. I can feel his very strong aura surrounding me.

I step closer but stop when I hear him growl.

"Mate!" Lexy shout.

I froze

My mate?

Lexy and I don't talk about our mate because we can't have one.

The glare of the gold eyes of my mate seems to soften and I step closer to him. Reaching for his face but when my hands were about to touch his face I heard a loud howl from behind me echoing to the whole forest.

I looked behind me to see who it was but all I see is a bunch of trees. I try to look around to find it but found nothing. I look back up at my mate to see him already gone too.

I panicked and try to find him but he's already gone. My mate.

Lexy howl in agony and pain and I let the tears fall from my eyes and whisper.

"Please come back"

I woke up breathing heavily my face is covered in sweats and my eyes are red and puffy from crying. I wipe the tears from my eyes and sit up looking out the window to see that it's already raining outside.

Shit, my emotions were getting the best of me again.

I try taking deep breaths to calm myself down and look again outside. The rain suddenly stops and I sigh in relief and close my eyes exhaling. I check the clock from the bedside table and sigh. It's already 8 in the morning. I suddenly remember my dream.

Those gold eyes. Mate!

"Lexy?" I called out to her.

"Yeah?"

"Why do we suddenly dream about our mate?" I asked confusedly.

"I don't know, maybe we will meet him soon" she guesses. "Or maybe he's in danger!"

I panicked

"What?"

"I'm not sure, but I know that something happened to our mate."

"Do you think it's something bad?"

"I don't think so. We will feel it if something bad has happened to our mate. Do you feel something or anything?" she asked.

I checked my body, feelings, and emotions.

"Nothing" I sigh "so does it mean nothing is wrong with our mate?"

"I don't know" she sighs frustratedly. "Let's just go to the castle for now."

"Okay," I nod.

I begin doing my morning routine and get w clothes. I summon a buy button-front solid overall dress with white snickers and let my hair down with its natural wavy curls.

I made my way downstairs and thank the old woman. I kindly declined her offer to stay for breakfast and just headed outside. I can just grab bread and coffee on my way up the mountain and into the castle.

I sigh

I'm just going to warn them nothing less and nothing more. Can't be part of the war now, can we?

I look up to see the view of the very big castle and whistle.

That is one big hell of a castle. I wonder what kind of King the big Kingdom has. I guess he is powerful too.

My mind goes back to the memory of the four rogues, Brian, and his mate. And I feel the urge to kill them all especially the red-haired girl.

I growl and begin to walk my way up the mountain and into the Lycan Kingdom. Silently praying that what my grandma had dreamed before is only a dream.

I can't be in the middle of a war now, can I?
