CHAPTER 6: Still can't find her

1449 Words
Eros' POV "We don't have much time to wait, your highness." Larry, the leader of the Lycan counsel said. He is also one of the elders in my Kingdom. "No, I almost see her. We just need to try harder." I stated calmly. Opposite of what I'm feeling right now. How dare they decided who am I going to marry! Someone cleared their throat and I snapped my head in the direction of my third in command, Brian. He is the one who finds me yesterday when I was looking for my mate in the forest. He seemed shocked at first when I told him I smell my mate's scent but quickly recovered suggesting to split up and find her. After hours of looking, we didn't find her and he suggests that we go head back to the castle. He even reassured me that he doesn't see any rogue when he is running around. At first, I didn't agree and keep on looking but after an hour of looking and I still doesn't find her I agree to head back. The rest of the day had me and my lycan wolf in a very bad mood because our hope of finding out a mate that day has been destroyed. So now, here I am discussing with the Lycan kingdom's counsel and other Lycans about marrying other women that they are claiming "suitable" for being my chosen mate if my real mate doesn't show up before the war has started. This chosen mate we're talking about is none other than Bianca, the werewolf princess. The council thought that we could use the help of the werewolf's royal armies as our allies to defeat the rogues. And of course, that will only happen when the Lycans' great King marries their heir. And that great King is me. The council said that our lycan army is not enough to defeat those "dozens" of rogue, vampires, and witches, so it will be best for us to be allied with them. I try to offer the werewolf King anything that I can offer besides me marrying his daughter but the old dip s**t is not interested in them. So the last only hope I have is for my mate to show up or to find her. Because we still believe the prophecy our Oracle had written, that my mate is going to be very powerful. And of course, the council thought that she can save the Kingdom with whatever power she poses. That is when I let her fight which is never going to happen. "May I speak, your majesty?" Brian asked. I give him a curt nod. "Well, the spy I send to watch the rogue's action had reported me that they already gathered a bunch of rogues, vampires, and witches," he explained All the Lycans in the room stare at him in shock. "Vampires and witches?" said an older woman, I think she is one of the members of the council. "Yes, and it looks like they are going to attack soon." Brian continued looking at us with a solemn look on his face. His dark brown eyes looking dead serious. "My King, if what Brian said was true, you need to marry princess Bianca immediately. We only have a little much time to take." Larry said worriedly. I clench my jaw and looked at Bianca. She batted her fake eyelashes at me grinning widely. I heard my wolf scoff and I look away taking deep breaths my aura showing. Trying to calm down because I'm only just seconds from snapping at them. They feel my dominance and immediately bow their heads. "Yes we only have little time and that little time will be spent preparing, training, and-" I look at Bianca and she is looking at me in hope, her face so bright. "Searching for my mate," I commanded loudly. Bianca's face immediately falls and my wolf snicker at her stupidity. "But your majesty-" Bianca is cut off by a knock on the conference room door. A guard opens the door to reveal my second in command, Carter. He walks into the room and bows at me his dirty blond hair falling into his forehead. "Your majesty, there is a girl outside that is claiming that she has very important information to tell you personally," he explained. I look at him in confusion. "Did she tell you her name and the pack she came from?" I questioned. "She said her name is Victoria and she doesn't have a pack" I growl "She's a rogue?" "No she isn't a rogue but she does not also have a pack." We all stare at him in confusion. She doesn't have a pack but she's not a rogue? "Is she a vampire or witch, perhaps?" Larry suggests, butting in our conversation. "No. She is a Lycan I can smell her Lycan wolf." Carter said also looking confused. "My King, do you want me to send her back or let her in?" "No. I will come with you." I stand up and said. "The meeting is over" And begin walking out of the conference room following my second in command outside. What information is she going to tell? *** Victoria's POV After almost two and a half hours of walking, I finally see the large gate of the palace. The gate is tall so I can't see the inside of the castle but some lycans are guarding the gate. I run and make my way towards them. Both lycans eyes snap to mine I approach them and stop when I'm only a few inches away. The guy with light brown hair and grey eyes sniffs me and looks like he is mind linking someone. "Hi, my name is Victoria and I need to talk to your King. I have very important information to tell them." I say, direct to the point. The other guy narrows his eyes at me suspiciously. "What is it?" "It's confidential. I need to tell the King personally, so please can you let me in?" I plead. He opened his mouth to say something but stop when someone comes out of the big gate. The new guy has dirty blond hair and light green eyes. His aura is strong so I guess he has a high position here. "What is it that you want to tell to the King" he demanded. Guess the other guy already mind-link him and fill him up. I resisted the urge to growl at him for demanding me and just stare at him emotionlessly. "It is very confidential, so I will only tell it to the King" I stated confidently. He looked into my eyes and sigh in defeat. "The King is busy but I will inform him, just wait here and don't try anything stupid," he said firmly. I roll my eyes but nodded. "Okay" He begins walking back inside the castle to find his King. I waited patiently outside. I look at my surroundings and close my eyes. I feel like I belong here. In the castle full of people not in the middle of the forest with just only my grandma. I understand that my grandma only did that because she wanted to protect me and to keep my secret from spilling but that doesn't mean it's easy. I spent my whole twenty years of life isolated in the middle of nowhere. Twenty years of life in no freedom. I don't blame my grandma for all of it but sometimes I think, what would happen to my life if I don't need to be isolated and be kept hidden from everyone. What if I just born into normal life and doesn't need to train? What It would be like to live like that? I sigh and shake my head. There's no point in thinking of the what if's because it's already happened in the past. "So what are we going to do after this?" I asked Lexy from our link. "I don't know maybe find our mate? Anything but going back to that lonely mansion" I sigh "But where are we going to find him? There's so many packs here and a lot more villages." "Just follow your heart" she smiled cheekily. I roll my eyes "You're so corny" She laughed "Yeah, I know." I was about to say something but stop when I feel electricity crept down my spine. I heard the door to the palace opened and my heart begin to pound in my chest. I turn around but froze when I made eye contact with a very unfamiliar man but very familiar eyes. My eyes widen. Those beautiful gold eyes. "Mate"
