“Come again?” Kellan blurted out in astonishment.
He was seated next to Darwin in a diner while Endymion occupied the chair across the table from them. They had contacted Endymion around half past five in the afternoon and invited the man out for dinner. They had even fetched Endymion from his house so the man wouldn’t have to drive to the diner on his own. They didn’t chat much along the way, but the trip only lasted around ten minutes. Hence, there was no awkward silence in the car.
