Chapter 4
Darwin wasn’t surprised when he and Kellan received a call from the police sometime around three o’clock in the afternoon. When they arrived at the station, they were taken into separate rooms to be interviewed. He wasn’t worried or nervous at all. He and Kellan were both innocent. When the interview was over, Zachary, one of the two police officers who was in the room with him, remained while the other detective exited with his statement safely tucked into a folder.
“You’re one of Magdalene’s friends then?”
Darwin nodded. “I’m guessing you’re the police officer she mentioned over the phone earlier? The one who used to work in the supernatural division for the FBI?”
“Yeah.”
There was a brief moment of silence between them before Darwin spoke up once again. “Why did you decid
