CHAPTER 18: SURPRISING BLAST 1

3171 Words
After meeting with Professor Vasquez and Brandon, I hurriedly went to the shop and bought something for Caitlyn. I bought round red velvet cheesecake with a simple dedication "Happy Birthday Caitlyn!" I also bought a pair of knee socks with a bumblebee style with black and yellow stripes. I remember the last time we're talking about one of our favorites and she mentioned how much she likes the knee socks with yellow stripes. I smiled a little when I noticed it in a store so I was compelled to buy it for Cait. When I arrived at the suite no one was around so I thought about decorating the party decors that Abbie and Tyler left behind in the living room. It was in a box so I thought to spend time doing something worthwhile. I enjoy arranging the party decors, for sure Caitlyn will be so happy to see this. I finished before they arrived so I thought of entering my room first and do some reporting on the sorority ball, which Professor Vasquez demanded me to revise. As what Professor wants to state everything, I state everything he wanted to know and to skip about us with Brandon and Kris. I think that's too private to include though and I can still remember the pain about that night. Minutes turn to hours of silence until I heard a noise from outside the house when I looked out of the window. I saw Abbie coming into the suite with Caitlyn. Luckily, I fixed the party decors without waiting for them to arrive since they went home together. Upon getting inside the suite, amazement permeates all of their faces. Hiding behind the staircase, I think of lightning the candles and sing a birthday song to Caitlyn with my cake. I saw them all downstairs as I looked down the stairs and from the second floor, as I descended, I started singing. They all saw me and finally a minute after realization from the shock I made they joined me singing along. Happy Birthday, Caitlyn, Happy Birthday Caitlyn. Happy Birthday dear roomie, Happy Birthday to you! "Aww Margie, you are so thoughtful!" Cait hugged me as I smiled. " You made all the decoration all by yourself while we're gone? I thought you're lack of that kind of talent?" smiling Abbie asked me, I just smiled at her tease. "Well, you left me no choice I guess!" everyone laughs. "Cait you can make a wish and blow the candle!" Cait closed her eyes slightly while making a wish as she immediately blew the candle and smiled at us again. They applauded once more. "Happy Birthday Cait and this is my gift for you!" Lucas took the cake I was holding and handed the gift to Cait. Cait's eyes lit up as if in shock. "Wow, can I open it now?" she asked me eagerly, I just nodded. She didn't open that much, she just scooped out the paper bag I presented her and laughed with delight when she figures out what's inside. Her eyes sparkle in too much happiness. "Margie you're awesome! This is too much from you!" "Happy Birthday!" I greeted again. "Well, It's not just Margie who cherished your big day!" Abbie handed Cait a paper bag from under the couch. It was so big that I wondered what it might have been like within. Cait hugged Abbie and quickly opened the paper bag. Her forehead shuddered when she heeds that thing inside. "I hate you Abbie!" chuckling at her annoyed replied to Abbie while punching her softly in the arm, she revealed to us Abbie's gift only to find out it's a pillow with Lucas printed face on it. "I know you'll love to sleep with him-- I mean with that pillow!" "You, insane!" Cait was smiling and we laughed. "And there's more!" Abbie pulled out of her wallet 5 tickets to a pool party at the rooftop of the famous Pierre Holdings building. "That's too expensive Abbie!" Caitlyn was shocked to see FIVE Tickets on ShadesClub. "That's Okay! I have solicited from your dad!" "How dare you do that to Daddy!" "You should thank me for making an effort to reach Tito!" defensively and teasingly answered by Abbie. "Such a thick face!" Upbraided Caitlyn to Abbie and give her a light punch which made us all laugh again. Now it's Tyler's turn to give his gift, Cait started to open it and found a set of eyeshadow palette and lipsticks. Cait was very pleased with Tyler's surprise barring that, we were all amazed at Lucas's gift to her. It is a gold necklace with a small arrow pendant. We could not hold back the glare in their eyes, especially Cait. We are feeling romantically moved by Lucas's simple move to confirm his interest in Caitlyn. "Ahem!!" Tyler coughs so hard that it seems to have something in his throat. Abbie and I smiled modestly so that Lucas could put the necklace on Cait's neck. "Awee! Aren't they sugary? right, Margie!" Abbie's eyes fluttered in tease as she tosses me one of her meaningful look with a wicked grin. "Shut up!" I warned her as I rolled my eyes. "Thanks, Lucas.." Caitlyn smiled melodiously after Luke put the necklace around her neck that so admirable to her. "My pleasure Cait" "So what now? what time are we going to have a pool party?" Tyler asked as if he was going to get hyper-active at the event later. "After dinner will go there and since the dinner will be handled by Caitlyn, Let's all get dressed for the dinner blast and bring up your sexy bikinis for the pool party! Hooray!" shouted Abbie and all of us sprang yelling as well. I was paused for that sudden thrill when I apprehended something. Wait, Kris isn't joining us again? There are only 5 tickets available. "Is Kris not invited? " I suddenly turned to them and asked. Abbie shrugged through the air as she heard my question. "I can't believe after all that had happened between you two, you still have the guts to care? We even don't know if he still knew us as his suite-mates! He doesn't spare time to hang with us so how can he even remember Caitlyn's birthday?" Tyler replied to me, he has strong points that made me quiet. I felt a heavy hand comforting my shoulder, As I turned around I saw Caitlyn, so it's coming from her. She smiled bitterly at me. "Abbie shows me 6 tickets," she handed me another one. I wondered why she gave me that. "I would love to give it to Brandon instead of Kris. I don't think he even thinks about us too" Cait's said after that I watched her went upstairs. I examined the ticket at the shades club on my palm. Yeah right! Kris wouldn't mind too, I guess. I took the phone out of the pocket and scanned it down to check Brandon's number. I had his number after the party when he walks me home. We asked each other's number but I haven't done any of the texting until now. "Brandon, it's Margie. Caitlyn wants to see you on her birthday. Let's meet at the shades club later. She reserved a ticket for you. I would love to hear if you come with us." After the message was announced I started walking my room to get dressed when my phone beeps. I stopped to see the message and its Brandon. Callendar's clear. I'll see you both at the club. I smiled glowering at my phone's screen pondering about this man. I know Brandon doesn't fancy clubbing but here he is clearing his calendar for us. Okay, see you then. By the way, We will be joining the pool party, I hope not to see you in so formal. :) That was the last reply I sent to Brandon before heading to my room to get prepared properly for tonight. Sometimes I really think Brandon's character is too unpredictable. His personality is so sympathetic and loving and kind but anytime later it gets too grouchy. Thinking about Brandon and Kris brought me to my room so I thought about getting dressed. Just a simple dress I wore, Pretty long top off the shoulder and shorts and pair of 2-inch sandals. It doesn't mean that at a pool party I would just go there in a bikini. Under my off-shoulder is a red strapless bikini pair. They were all at the door when I came down. They were also fired at Cait's birthday blast. Caitlyn reserved dinner at Pierre Holdings restaurant on the 23rd floor of the building. Our area is very nice and very romantic because the city lights are overlooking. My demented mind is thinking about someone again! s**t! It's also windy here and the zephyr was very refreshing to feel. Cait decided to come here for dinner because the pool party and ShadesClub are just 30th floors. It's a hotel with a restaurant and pool and the top which becomes one of the most renowned hotels in the City. "Shades club." I impersonated in my mind so I won't forget. Our dinner was delicious and delightful, with steak, spare ribs, baked buttered scallops, hot and spicy chicken teriyaki, and much more. I had eaten too much and I meant it because I know there will be a deep trough of liquors that will take place tonight. I also realized that Caitlyn also booked a room in case we couldn't come home with too much alcohol. They are rich Cait so maybe she can afford to be so expensive just for us and her birthday. Cait is the only child and she has no friends near her so she celebrated her birthday with us. After a quick meal, we traveled to the 30th floor by elevator. In fact, I felt terrifying vertigo by the elevator because of the transparent glass, my legs were quivering because I feel like I was riding a Ferris wheel ride but the most unfavorable part was, this is far above my previous rides. I felt horrible when we got here on the 30th floor so I took a deep breath. Ii seems like I wanna puke. "Can anyone tell me where is the way to the comfort room? I think I'll spit a big mess because of the elevator!" I felt a little sick when I took the elevator and I had lots of kinds of seafood earlier so I thought they were all mixed up inside my belly. It was too many scallops and I didn't know what had caused me to feel this way. " Come, I'll go with you." Cait's offer seems worried. "I'll go, I'll find you later" "Are you sure?" Cait clarifies. I nodded.   She pointed to the direction as soon as we got into the club. And because the music and the shouting are so strong here within the club, I don't understand what Cait's instructions very well. "Okay, I'll take care of it. " I did not hear what Cait said and I walked away looking for the washing room alone. Finally, I reached the CR and went down there. The combination of what I ate was probably bad so I'm puking it all right now. I was there in one cubicle with the lavatory and mirror so I didn't feel embarrassed to discharge what I ate because no one could hear me. I found myself inside the toilet for about 10 minutes and I went out when I felt like I was okay. I was a little freaked out even though I wasn't drunk. I adjusted my posture first and stepped out of the CR and started looking for them. I was taken feet to the side of the bar and first noticed the bartender holding a cake and drinks so I was excited to give Caitlyn a hand. I wasn't mistaken because the waiter stopped at a table with a large round red sofa and glass table in the middle, Caitlyn and Abbie sitting side by side. "--ever since he shacked-up with Becca and his football buddies he barely has time for us!" I heard Tyler complain as he began to transfer the drink into glasses. I know Kris is what they mean. Until here, They don't have any intention of ending the talk about Kris. "might just be busy with the game!" Lucas's defense, Tyler made a face and spoke again. "Ughh! Don't make excuses for him Lucas! He even doesn't hang with your x-box nowadays! My God! I'm so pissed! Aren't you pissed Margie?" Tyler turned to look at me even before I was seated. As I watched them closely. "Pissed?" suddenly I interrupted. I lost myself in thinking about the two of them talking while Cait and Abbie were the first to settle down with the peanuts on the table. "Aren't you?" Tyler sarcastically answers me with a question. I made no word. "Aren’t Kris pissing you off?” He asked me back trying to get again my attention. "A-actually, I'm a little mad and broken!" I replied frantically and sat down with Tyler. "Sorry, I didn't mean to bring him up," Tyler said and smelled brandy in his glasses. "Listen, Margie. Kris had his chance. If he didn't appreciate what he had, that's his problem." Abbie answered suddenly in conversation. "I guess you're right! Let's just focus on giving Cait the best birthday ever, Okay?" I avoided it so that we had to stop talking about Kris. His name has the power to hurt me. Just then, Tyler gets up and heads to the bar. He returns with the bartender, who sets a line of shot glasses on the table in front of our group. The bartender winks at Caitlyn before pouring a perfect line of rainbow shots, transitioning through the vibrant spectrum of colors before our eyes. "Oh my God! You just become my new favorite person!" we all met Lucas in Cait's praises to the bartender so Cait changed the conversation, " You can still be my first favorite Lucas! Now let's drink!" she raised the glass and cheered "Cheers!" "For Caitlyn!" Abbie shouted and our glasses hit the air making a sound. Caitlyn pulls a shot glass from each end of the rainbow and swallows one. Abbie followed and swallowed it twice. "Oh! I know this game from Caitlyn!" shouted Tyler. "What game?" asked Lucas, though I did not know the game it was referring to. "This is a swallow game! I mean it is about who will drink first and take all the remaining glasses in the queue. For example, Caitlyn shots the first two shots, Abbie shots three because you have to do more than the previous drink who drinks before you and so for and so on. If you can't, he will dare you to do the thing he wants you to do. " It looks like I'm starting to get upset about this game. My Gad! I am not good at drinking and my stomach is also bad. I saw Tyler shots another glasses and its four straight glasses. I did nothing but drink more of Tyler before Lucas could. If not, so I'll be dead with the dare. I immediately took the glasses and drank the five-shot glass straight after Tyler drank. They all shouted, even the other table seemed to get interested in what we were doing. "Drink.. drink.. drink!" I heard screaming, I tried to drink the fifth shot glass even when I felt bitter, Lucas followed and stopped at his fifth glasses. I think he can't make it anymore. He didn't even touch the sixth glass. It seems like I almost drowned by its bitterness in the fifth glass, how much more the sixth glass? "I am so sorry Lucas but you will be the first one to DARE!" Tyler laughed. Lucas nodded so grievously. "I didn't mean I couldn't handle it. Why would I dare?" his complaint quickly. "That's the rule say right Caitlyn?" asked Tyler, Caitlyn needed confirming Tyler's words. I was wondering, How can Cait come up with such a hilarious game? Lucas could not help but do the dare. "So who will be Lucas?" asked Tyler, Abbie threw her hands up in the air. "Your dare Lucas, Kiss Caitlyn in her lips for 60 seconds Torridly!" My eyes widened, shocked by Abbie's words. "No!" Caitlyn yelled. "No?-- Or the two of you choose the two, Lucas will kiss you or you wanna see Lucas pick random girls to kiss for 60 seconds?" "Why are you punishing me for my birthday?" Caitlyn asked as if so annoyed. Abbie just laughed while provoking the two. "Tick-tock, The clock is up now, answer me! If both of you will just so honest and tell me your status then I won't torture you." snubbed and drank the wine without stopping to gasp air. "Amend the dare!" shouted again by Caitlyn. "There is no exemption here even if it's your birthday, it will be so unfair for the other who will take the dare" Abbie drank some wine again. Cait stopped breathing for a while and took a deep breath. "Whoa! This is so fun! I hope James is here with us so I can dare to kiss him too!" Tyler's happy and compelling squeak in no doubt but suddenly, we were shocked when Lucas got up and approached Cait. "I'm sure you don't want me to see kissing another girl other than you" I can't imagine how serious Lucas's face shifted differently and the tone of his voice changes too as if he were not stirred by the hard liquor we drink earlier. "L-Lucas.." Caitlyn only pronounced it as if she was beginning to blush over too much. We all look at the two of them and what they can do. "Please say yes and I'll kiss you!" Lucas still has not lost his gaze in Cait's troubled eyes, I guess if I were in Cait's place I wouldn't know what I would do. But all of a sudden we were shocked when Cait spoke. "Yes" The pace was too much to bear and we watched Lucas bowed to reach Caitlyn sitting down and pressed his lips against her without a word. For a moment we became stunned, then Abbie and Tyler screamed while I shuddered as I thought of other people when I saw them kissing. Kris again. I thought of how quick we fell into each other and just how it swift away and he lost his interest in me. I thought that his feelings had expired all out of the blue. I don't know where I would believe every time he said how much he liked me but that was contrary to what I see and feel. I turned my attention to the lights that were shining on me and didn't realize that Brandon is already standing beside me.
