Chapter 3- The Prince of Fall Rivers (Christian) A group of wolves was running through the woods in a competition to who could reach to the river first, so far a huge black wolf was leading at a great distance. He didn’t care about anything when he was in this area of the town. First, there was this soothing tranquility of the woods and of course, the castle was here as well. His mother specifically asked him and his sister to stay away from it as much as possible as it could be dangerous but when has that ever stopped him? He can’t explain the attraction and pull that castle has over him. It has been 10 years since that castle appeared in Fall Rivers and every day he has spent reading tons of books, and researching online about it but couldn’t find anything. The curiosity still hasn’t died and he is not ready to give up. His fixation is especially on that one room in the castle. ‘Christian, we get it that you are fast, now quit showing off.’ His friends yelled through the mind linked and their voices were strained due to all the running, he chuckled and slowed his speed. ‘I am not that fast, it’s just you guys are slow.’ He mocked his friends who just snarled at him and followed him to the river. ‘Seriously, we have a huge town and there are so many places we could go every time but our to-be Alpha needs to come here every night.’ Others agreed with Cooper. ‘Cooper is right; Owen was thinking we could go to that pond in Swansea for a change.’ Carter suggested to the group. Christian and his group were among the exclusive teenagers of the town. They were all werewolves and born to the elites of the town which made them popular. Carter was about to take over her father Alan as the Beta of the Blackwood pack whereas Owen was taking over from his mother Emma to be the gamma of the Blackwood Red moon pack. Cooper was Carter’s twin brother who was 15 minutes younger than her. Similar to their parents who helped Xavier run the pack, they were training to assist the prince, the new pack Alpha, Christian Blackwood. ‘Sure we can go there but this place is different. It connects Carson to its natural habitat.’ Carson was Christian’s wolf and the main reason behind Christian’s pull toward the castle is due to Carson’s constant nagging all the time to find out about the castle. Carson believes his mate is somewhere out there and is related to the castle in some way. ‘Urgh you and your nature,’ Cooper nudged Christian with his snout. ‘Well, it’s understandable as he is the Alpha, and being the descendant of two powerful wolves gets you more connected to your feral form.’ Carter put forwards her knowledge. ‘And that’s why you are about to be the Beta, not your dumb-as* brother.’ The group laughed, and Cooper muttered, ‘Nerd’ under his breath. They proceeded to get back to their house. Christian still had a year to be declared as the official Alpha of the pack. He has been training his whole life for this, the only wish he has before taking the rank from his father is to find his mate. Christian grew up admiring the relationship his parents had and always dreamt of having one with the love of his life. He hasn’t been with anyone and wants to save himself for his mate. Christian definitely got this side from his mother. In a week, he starts his junior year in the same school his parents went Fall Rivers High School. After taking a stroll, Christian went back to his house near the woods where as others went to pack house to put on some clothes. Xavier renovated the pack house and made it like a guest house for the pack visitors. During the training, many pack members live there temporarily. He reached home and saw his parents were out as their car was not in the garage. He tried to find his sister while looking for food in the kitchen. There was a note on the fridge from his mother, Celestina, that there is food in the fridge, and asked him and Xandria to heat it before eating. “Xandria! Xan!” Christian called his sister. “Yeah!” She yelled back from her room. “Could you please take the trouble of descending downstairs?” He spat back with sarcasm. Xandria was a usual teenager who hated to be told what to do and her peaceful sanctuary was her room. Xavier was very lenient towards his daughter, unlike his son. The reason behind that might be his own teen years as Xavier wasn’t exactly a good boy. Christian was exactly opposite to his father in personality, and habits but his looks mimicked Xavier Blackwood's except for his eyes. He got his mother’s green eyes. Xavier regretted many years of his life and wanted his son to grow up to be a person who respected people and Christian turned out to have a great personality. Christian heard the stomping of feet down the stairs and got the hint that his sister is arriving, the oven beeped as well. “Again?” she exclaimed to her brother. “Xan, mom, and dad have to deal with the pack matters. We have to understand that and it’s not like they do it on purpose.” He calmly explained to her. “Who knows?” She muttered and sat at the dining table. Christian sighed and chose not to comment further on it. Christian had a great memory and remembered all the hardships his parents went through to raise him and his sister. He understood the responsibilities his parents had but Xandria was in her rebellious phase, he could just hope that she gets over it and cut their parents some slack. “So have you decided on which school you want to go to?” Christian asked his sister. Xandria was going to start her freshmen year in a week and she still hasn’t decided on a school yet. First, she wanted to continue in the private school but now suddenly she wants to go to Fall Rivers High School.
