Elijah, Celestina, Adrian, and Celestina’s parents got into the work of searching for that castle. They all were looking for a disappearance but got nothing after a week. They were all in Mars’ library which is Celestina’s office now. Anytime a volcano appeared, chances were that it disappeared from one region and appeared in another but this castle didn’t belong to this world.
“I don’t understand how something of this scale could appear out of nowhere and nobody knows anything about it,” Adrian said after putting down the last newspaper from the stack. “Did Marcus and Athena find anything?” He asked Celestina. She shook her head. “You know there is only one way left to find out about this castle. We have to find out about it and control it before it gets out. The hunters have risen in the last few years and I don’t want any danger in his town again, Celestina.” Adrian expressed his concern. After the war with Serene, the hunters started to appear threatening the lives of the innocents. Celestina wants to save both human beings and supernatural beings. They had to control much news from getting out for the wellbeing of the town and supernatural beings. Celestina felt bad as she was the anchor for humans as well but she knew that people knowing about the supernatural won’t do any good.
“I know.” She wanted to keep Xandria out of this but it looks like only she was the only one who can give them some information.
Xandria and Christian were with Elizabeth at their house as Xavier has gone to Boston for a few days due to work.
“Xan, can I talk to you for a minute?”
“Yes, mommy.”
“That night, baby, how did you know that there was a castle near the lake?” She asked her slowly.
“Um when the ground started-ah to shake then I closed my eyes and I saw a castle-like Christian and I saw in the movies near the lake,” Xandria explained to her mother. “I wanna go there, mom.”
“No, no that’s not happening.” Xandria was very adamant about going to the castle but Celestina kept on denying it continuously.
“I wanna go there, please…” Finally, they gave in and took the kids to the castle. Xandria was excited whereas Christian was observing one room in particular.
“Buddy, what’s wrong?” Celestina asked him but he just shook his head. Celestina saw from the corner of her eye that Xandria was about to touch the walls. “Xan!” She warned but Xandria touched it regardless but she didn’t pull back. Xavier pulled her back and took a look at her hand which was completely unaffected unlike Celestina’s whose hands got red. Christian did the same and the wall didn’t affect them rather it gave them a certain type of comfort and power. The interior started to repair itself and within minutes many damages were gone, turning brand new. Xavier and Celestina’s eyes widened, and they shared a look.
“A princess will become my friend,” Xandria commented closing her eyes with one hand on the wall. That day Celestina knew one thing her kids’ future was not going to be anywhere near ordinary.
Chapter 2- The beginning of the end (Evaleen)
10 years later….
The animals, plants, and every single element of the forest knew that she was out in the woods on her usual night run. They waited patiently for her every night and the minute she passed by, she left behind an aura of comfort to them in the dark and eerily silent forest. She was bigger than any animal present in the forest but none of them were scared of her, the case wasn’t the same for the humans, they were terrified of her. The trees provided the shed when she wanted to rest; the stream quenched her thirst after her run; animals and fish were her companions. She preferred to be alone during her run because she knew she could never be alone in the forest. Nature’s elements were her best friend growing up. It has been 10 years since Evaleen and her grandmother moved to a thinly populated village in Japan, named Takayama. They moved there after the war, getting as far away as possible from their home to save their lives.
Takayama is a traditional village where people are very helpful; they believe in old legends and folklore and 90% of the population belongs to the Sirclair pack. Evaleen’s grandmother had spent most of her life in this village and when the time came to save the last remaining Romulan, she fled here the first chance she got taking Evaleen with her. She raised Evaleen trying to teach her about this foreign village, country, and the world and she also made sure that Evaleen knew about herself, her roots, and her powers. The training that her grandmother and a few elders of Takayama provided made her strong and confident. Every single day, Evaleen goes through the nightmare that she went through 10 years ago on her 5th birthday. No child should ever experience that, such events tend to leave a long-term trauma that affects the future of the individual, and brings changes to their personality. The same happened with Evaleen, she could have been a bubbly girl but what remains is a skeptical, traumatized girl trying to find an anchor to her life. How has Evaleen coped with the horrors of that night? She might have not been able to forget that night but she didn’t pour out her emotions and rage on anyone. She bottled it up inside herself.
‘Eva, Evaleen,’ She heard familiar voices calling her through the mind link. Evaleen grunted signaling her location. ‘Here you are! Your grandmother is looking for you.’ Daiki and Eiji are the only friends she could make in Japan. The Sirclair clan of werewolves has settled in this part of the world and their Alpha had welcomed Evaleen with open arms. But the pack members were terrified of her feral form and only Daiki and Eiji knew her true nature, she would never hurt anyone intentionally and without reason. Their wolves were still scared but as they were the future Alphas of the Sirclair Blue moon pack, they didn’t get intimidated that easily and also their wolves were almost the same height as hers.
