I sobbed uncontrollably on Emira's shoulder. He truly is ruthless. I begged him to reconsider, but he threatened Emira and Uncle Charles instead.
'You must be on an extreme level of delusion to think I am going anywhere with you. Emmy asked me to respect you and all, but respect is reciprocal. You have to respect me too and respect the fact that I am a human being. You can't just order me to do whatever you like. I don't work for you, you don't own me, so no, I am not going anywhere with you. This conversation or whatever this is is over.' I gave him a piece of my mind and stood up to leave but his words stopped me.
'I always knew humans were selfish, I didn't know they could be this selfish.' I paused in my tracks and turned around to face him.
'What do you mean?' He stood up with a smirk on his face and stalked over to me.
'You only care about yourself, not about you friend or the bad things that would happen to this pack because you refused to obey me.' He circled me like I was his prey and I actually felt like one.
'What....what do you mean?' I asked, fear already seeping into my bones.
'I can destroy this pack without lifting a finger, and if you walk out of that door without agreeing, I certainly will.' My heart broke at this information. I would have called it a bluff if Emira had not warned me of the power he possess.
'Please. I really don't want to leave. My whole life is here. I haven't been able to reach my aunt and she would be very worried when she returns and finds me missing.' I tried to reason with him, hoping he would understand.
'The violent lioness now begs. How pathetic. If you are not packed and ready by dawn, I would withdraw my hand in the security of Silver Moon Pack. Who knows who or what is out there to get them. You won't see your precious friend and her uncle again.' I stared at him with tears springing in my eyes. He can't do that. He won't. But the ugly reality stared me in the face, he can, and he will. After that, I ran out of the office straight to Emiras room and crashed in her arms.
'I have to go. I can't let him, or anyone hurt you. I have to go.' Emira shook her head rapidly in disagreement.
'No, you can't just leave without Aunt Jen. There has to be a way w........
'There's only one way to keep you safe Emmy, and that way is for me to go. I already tried to get him to wait till aunt Jen returns, but his response was to threaten your packs safety. The last thing I want is for you and your family to be in danger because of me. I'll go.' Emira knew I was not going to change my mind, so she held me, and we cried together. There was a knock on the door, so we broke apart so she could unlock it.
'Yes?' She questioned the army of kings guard that were outside the room.
'The King has instructed that we escort miss Rivera to retrieve her personal belongings ahead of tomorrow's journey.' The man upfront who seemed to be the leader of the group spoke. Emira looked at me with tears welling up in her eyes again.
'It's really happening.' She whispered. I nodded silently and prepared to go out in the cold. The impatient prick couldn't even wait for morning, it is freaking midnight.
'Here, I'll come along.' Emira handed me a coat and together, we led the army of kings guard out of the mansion.
'You know, I really thought the birthday when I had the flu was going to be my worst birthday yet, this tops the cake.' I chuckled at my own conclusion.
'That's true.' Emira said and suddenly stopped to face me.
Happy Birthday my lovely friend. I wish this were under different circumstances, but I got you something.' She reached into her coat and brought out a slim box.
'Open it.' She handed it to me and waited expectantly. I glanced briefly at the guards who had stopped a distance from us and opened the box happily.
'Wow.' My eyes widened as I stared at the silver chain with a clear crystal that hung at the center in the shape of a moon. I couldn't stop the tears that came to my eyes at the sight.
'It's beautiful.' I stared at the most beautiful necklace I had ever seen in my life.
'Thank you.' I said as I hugged her tightly.
'There's something else in the box.' I shook the box and discovered another layer. Two friendship bracelets laid at the bottom of the box, and I picked them out. One was gold with black charms on them, while the other was shiny silver with white charms on them.
'These are so lovely.' I exclaimed as I took Emira's wrist to attach the bracelet. She did the same for me and we admired them.
'Excuse me, I don't mean to interrupt your moment, but the king is waiting.' The lead guard reminded us and we continued the journey out of the woods to my house.
We reached my house and Emira helped me pack up all my belongings, which wasn't so much. I walked around the house one last time, reminiscing about the memories I had made with Aunt Jen, Emira and Uncle Charles.
'I'll miss this place. I'll miss this life.' I choked on a sob and Emira came to hold my hand.
'You'll be back soon. I can feel it.' We hugged and remained like that for a while till we decided to leave. I left a note for aunt Jen since my messages weren't getting delivered for some reason.
We went back to the mansion with the guards carrying my bags and boxes and Emira and I went straight to bed after that. I went to bed dreading what was to come the following day.
The morning came by quickly and it was time to say goodbye.
'I'll miss you. Make sure you keep in touch with me.' Emira said as she hugged me tightly.
'You'll probably hunt me down and murder me if I don't, so I don't have much of a choice in the matter.' Emira laughed loudly at my comment, and I saw Uncle Charles try to stifle a laugh.
'I will miss you too Uncle Charles. Thanks for being a father to me. I will forever be grateful.' Tears welled up in his eyes, but he quickly blinked them away.
'I will miss you too my little potato.' I cringed at the nickname he called me.
'Uncle Charlesssss.....I thought we were over that.' I whined as he laughed at my embarrassment.
'I am glad my embarrassment brings you joy.' I rolled my eyes as he laughed louder and Emira joined him.
'Emmy, I would appreciate if you can check on my house from time to time to see if Aunt Jen is back. I have been trying to reach her, but my messages are not delivering, and my calls are not going through.
'Not a problem. But has it ever been this way? She always reaches out when she travels.' Emira said in concern but I tried to dust it off so she wouldn't be worried, even if I was.
'Well, she has never travelled so far, so it's probably the network.' Aunt Jen actually has never been out of touch for this long and I couldn't help but worry. It's been over a week since she left.
'It's time to go.' A kings guard called out after they had loaded my belongings into one of the many vehicles owned by the Alpha.
I'll let you know when I'm there, wherever there is.' Emira chuckled at my comment and her pulled her in for a final hug.
I got into the car reluctantly after giving the big bad Alpha a death glare and rolled my eyes when he got in after me. Of course we're riding together.
The car engine came to life and there was a hollow feeling in my chest. I continued to wave to Emira and Uncle Charles till there were out of sight. I sighed deeply and thought about how my life was about to take a disastrous turn because I have fallen prey to the big bad Alpha.
