12. Brooke: Aaron's relative?

1995 Words
My lips were still tingling from the intense kiss we hard in the Janitor's closet, -- my first kiss with my second chance mate, it was sweet and I was still aroused but the fact that he tried to forcefully mark me didn't sit well with me surely I forgave him but--- "He wasn't in control and we both know that," Cassy said, cutting my thoughts off, "and to say the truth ---" she continued, "I would have loved to be marked by him," She purred shaking her tail. "It's too soon Cassy, we've only known him for less than twenty-four hours," "Yes but that doesn't matter, we are wolves and our bodies call us to mark and mate," "Well it matters to me, I want to know him first," I said to her glancing at my mate who was sited next to me, his eyes focused on the sheet of paper that was infront of him. He had his palm on his chin, three fingers covering his cheek while his pinky finger sat on top of his cupid bow like a moustache. He looked to be deep in thought, it seems whatever questions were in that paper were giving him a hard time judging by how stressed and uncomfortable he looked. It was a cold day and yet I could see beards of sweat forming on his forehead. He let out a soft groan looked up at the ceiling then looked at the paper scribbling on it. I carefully looked at the paper but I couldn't read anything not because he had a terrible handwriting no, his handwriting was cute, but I couldn't read because I didn't know how to read. I've never been to school and it's embarrassing but hell I can't even write my own name! The bell rung and he stopped scribbling took in a deep breath but groaned instead, laying his head on the table and muttering something under his breath. "Maybe the test was too hard and he failed it. We should comfort him," Cassy said in my head. "You think the mate bond will make him less stressed? I feel less stressed when I touch him," I said to her and she vigorously nodded her wolf head. "Hey, are you okay?" I said placing my hand on his should only for him to snap at me. I quickly withdrew my hand wondering why he was so angrily. I'm his mate he shouldn't be talking to me like this, especially after we kissed and he almost marked me. "Maybe we did something wrong and do you think he will reject us? I don't want him to reject us?" Cassy the always rational one broke down whining and hiding herself at the back of my head, her whines echoing louder. I stared at my mate and his eyes were dark, the same darkness I once saw in alpha Drake the day we found out we were mates. I was about to say something when he averted his gaze quickly taking out his phone and after furiously typing on it, He forcefully got up the seat falling. Everyone turned their gazes our way but he furiously walked out of the room. "Wait, Aaron!" I got up about to chase after him when one of his friends, the one who wore glasses came into my line of sight. "Hi, I know we weren't properly introduced, I'm William," He stretched out his hand but I didn't even bother to shake it and instead side stepped him about to walk out of the door when his other friend came blocking my path. "Hey, were are you going? I'm Ivan by the way, nice to meet you, officially," he said smiling lightly and stretching out his hand. "Please move, I want to go see Aaron, he can't just leave me like this after ---- after ----" I couldn't even say the words as the lump on my throat grew bigger. My mate ran away from me after our first kiss. Was I really that bad I mean surely I'm inexperienced but he knows I'm a virgin so shouldn't he have figured out that I have no experience in the kissing department too? How can he just leave me here alone with people I don't even know? Okay I don't know him that well either but still, he's the only person that my mind and heart is familiar with and yet he just ran away from me! "He's got a bathroom emergency," the other one William said standing next to me. "Bathroom emergency?" I asked with a frown, "Is that the reason why he got up like that?" I added looking at William. " Yes he felt embarrassment to tell you and instead asked us to stay with you for a while until he can come back," Ivan explained my heart calming down a bit. Cassy stopped whining and came out of hiding but not fully. My mate didn't run away from me because I was a terrible kisser but because he was in need of the bathroom! I mentally face palmed myself, I should stop jumping to conclusions this fast, he's not going to leave me like Drake did, he promised he wouldn't "We should go eat something, I'm sure you are hungry," William said "I had a heavy breakfast in the morning," I said rubbing my stomach lightly which was almost empty but I couldn't tell him that. I didn't want to finish their money by eating too much, plus my stomach was used to being hungry all the time, Drake never fed me enough and each time I tried to steal some food, I would always get caught because of the stupid cameras he installed in the kitchen. No wonder I'm so bony. "Hey maybe them offering us food shows they care enough to feed us and get us back in shape, I'm sure our loving and thoughtful mate told them to do it," Cassy said fully coming out of the darkness. " You literally had that breakfast almost two hours ago and I'm pretty sure the food has digested by now," Ivan said leading the way with me and William following. "Yeah plus you are a growing little girl, you need lots of food," William patted my head but I swatted his hand away fixing my hair which was just let down and probably poorly brushed. I didn't have anyone to teach me how to do my hair. "She's a cutie patootie, isn't she?" Ivan said both men chuckling. "You are lucky Aaron isn't here otherwise he would have had your head," William said chuckling lightly. The two men led me straight to the cafeteria were they got a big burger and some fries with a juicebox. The food looked good, momentarily distracting me from thinking about Aaron but I was skeptical about eating it. I already looked malnourished and underfed, I didn't want them seeing me gulping down the food like someone whose never eaten in a week. "Go on eat," Ivan said. He didn't have to tell me twice, I nodded my head and grabbed the burger taking a bite, the meaty goodness melting on my tongue, my taste buds dancing tangle with the meat. I only ever saw people eating this, I didn't know it was this good! Ivan's phone rung and he excused himself but I didn't pay attention and instead fixed my mind on the food. He came back a few minutes later, and after I was done eating, "Would you like to go shopping?" he asked "Um shopping?" I asked not sure why he suddenly wanted me to go shopping. "Yeah, she definitely does," William said on my behalf, "Let's go," he added standing up. "Right now?" I asked equally standing up as Ivan picked up the empty food tray putting the trash in the trash can. "Yes, right now," "But what about Aaron?" I asked as they led the way. "It seems he's got explosive diarrhea," Ivan said while William snickered. "Whose got explosive diarrhea?" both men jumped out of their skin when a blonde girl appeared from nowhere. She was wearing tight black leggings that accentuated her fat ass with a cute pink faux fur and paired up with winter boots. She looked amazing with her hair in an updo and light make up on her. She somehow reminded me of Lynn. "Hey Vanessa, we were actually coming to find you," Ivan said and the girl raised her eyebrow. "Find me? You guys have never looked for me and where is Aaron?" "He's not here but he sent us to you," William said. "He did?" She widened her eyes followed by blinking rapidly and a smile blooming on her lips, "Aaron was thinking about me? That is so cute but wait why would he? Is it because of last night?" "What happened between you and Aaron last night?" I asked my interest piqued. Did they kiss? Is that why he's so good? No wait let me not judge him. "Nothing happened between them, don't worry," William assured with a small soft smile. "Who is she?" the girl Vanessa asked looking me from head to toe. "She's a relative of Aaron, back to why we wanted you," "Relative?" I asked looking at Ivan, "I'm not his ---" William let out a chuckle, "Don't worry about it Brooke, I know you don't want people to know you are related to him but Vanessa is a friend so trust us," "But----" I stopped myself from saying further, maybe them saying trust us was a way of indirectly telling me not to share much about my relationship with Aaron. Plus this girl is human she doesn't need to know we are mates. "How is your dad?" William asked "Oh my dad, he's fine now, mom was just freaking out over nothing," "Good to know he's fine, Aaron wanted to personally say thank you for last night but he couldn't because of some emergency he had," "Emergency? Is it the girl? Is she okay?" Vanessa asked worry marrying her features. Which girl was she talking about? "Don't worry, the girl is fine. Her condition is stable but that's not the only reason we came here," Ivan said "Then what?" "Aaron needs a favour," "What kid of favor?" Vanessa said. "We want you to um spend the day with her, you know take her shopping and all that stuff girls do," Ivan said gesturing to me. "Me? Why me? What about your girlie friends? Vicky and Lizzy," Vanessa asked crossing her arms and raising an eyebrow. "Well they are not on speaking terms with Aaron and--" "Huh let me guess, Lizzy finally confessed her feelings and he rejected her," She let out a hearty rich laugh that reminded me of Lynn again. I don't like this girl. "Well something like that yeah but would you stay with her," Ivan asked giving her a pleading look. "If I'm going to babysit then what's in it for me?" "You can ask Aaron for whatever you want and he will give you," "Huh?" both me and the girl said at the same time looking at Ivan. "Did Aaron tell you that or you are just bluffing?" Vanessa asked. "He did," William answered with Ivan vigorously nodding his head. The hairs on my back rose to attention as Aaron's strong scent hit my nostrils and on instinct, I found myself looking at the direction of the scent but I couldn't see him. Maybe I'm missing him. "You are not, he's truly there I can feel him," Cassy said. "Then why is he hiding?" I asked myself. "I'm not sure but we should go there and check," Cassy answered. I was about to when, "Here," Ivan said handing me a golden card, "Thanks again vanessa, see you," Both guys turned on their heels and quickly disappeared behind the corner where I had scented my mate.
