Candice
"Are you sure that she is Blake's mate?" I heard a soft voice ask. "Yes! I'm definitely sure," the other one said, and they both started giggling. "Shush! Don’t be too loud, or she’ll wake up!" The little voice spoke. I slowly opened my eyes and saw two little cute girls beside me. “They are so adorable! I can’t wait to have one of our own,” Claire dreamily said. “Woah! Calm your horses, girl; we ain’t getting one. Not now, not today, and definitely not tomorrow,” I seriously said, which made her laugh. Although I appreciate the company of young children, the present moment is not suitable for me to become a parent; furthermore, I have no desire for a mate.
“Uh? Hey?” They giggled and climbed onto the bed, each holding a doll in their hands. “You are pretty!” The little girl with a blue ribbon on her hair said. I pinched her cheeks and fixed her ribbon. “You’re pretty too!” I told her, and her twin sister gazed at me with adoring eyes.
“Can you tie this up for me? Please?” She shyly asked and gave me her red ribbon. I took it and tied it to her hair. “What’s your name, baby?” I asked her. “I’m Anna, and she’s Alicia; we are twins, and we are Blake’s niece!” She bubbly replied. The door in Blake’s room burst open, and a tall girl entered.
“Oh my God! There you are, twins! I’ve been looking for you guys.” She said. The twins hurriedly left my bed and clung to the girl. She must be their mother. “I’m so sorry! Did my girls startle you?” She asked, and I shook my head in response. ‘I was startled by you, actually. I wanted to tell her that but decided not to. “Go to Blake and tell him to cook a nice breakfast.” She said this to the girls and smiled, to which they gladly agreed.
"I'm Jonnah, Blake's sister, and you must be Candice?" She said. "Yes, that’s me. You have wonderful children, Jonnah.” I sincerely said that to her; she just smiled and took my hand.
“I think you should get ready. We’ll wait for you downstairs.” She said that and winked. I chuckled and nodded my hand. I took the towel that’s hanging in the cabinet and made my way through Blake’s bathroom. “You seem to be in a good mood today.” My wolf said, “Of course, I had nice sleep.” I answered her, and she didn’t talk after that. After I finished showering, I got out of the bathroom, but I facepalmed as soon as I remembered that I forgot my bag in the car. Luckily, Jonnah brought a set of undergarments and clothes for me. I put on the underwear and shorts but folded the shirt. I walked into Blake's cabinet, picked up a white t-shirt, and put it on. Because of my height, the shirt reached my knee. I’m not that small; it’s just that Blake is taller than me, and his shirt is way more comfortable to wear. “Tell the truth, hun; you like the smell of his shirt.” My wolf teased me, but I ignored her and headed to the kitchen.
When I entered the kitchen, I saw Blake cooking something while the twins were by his side; they were laughing and joking with each other. He's good with kids, and I accept that. “Candice! Come, sit here beside me.” Jonnah spoke and gestured for me to move to the chair next to her. Blake turned his head to me; he smiled and was about to say something but stopped. His eyes darkened with lust when he saw me in his clothes. I blushed and avoided his gaze—he was a really dirty-minded fvcker.
“Blaze! Your bacon is burning!” Jonnah shouted, and Blake’s eyes suddenly widened. “Oh sh*t!" He muttered and quickly returned to cooking. “Language!” "Language!" Jonnah exclaimed, tossing the doll that struck Blake's head.
“Mommy! You threw my Lila!” Anna angrily spoke, pouting her cute little lips. Jonnah gasped and picked up the doll she threw, and I laughed. “I’m so sorry, baby! Tell your uncle not to say bad words, or else all of his teeth will fall.” Jonnah joked, but the twins looked horrified at what their mother had said. They really believed it because they kept tugging on Blake’s shirt.
“Uncle! Did you hear that? Don’t say bad words now.” Alicia spoke innocently, to which he simply laughed and patted her on the head. Blake put the plate down in front of me with bacon, pancakes, and eggs on it. Now, this looks delicious. I'm really starving because the food I ate last night wasn't enough to ease my hunger. I started eating it, not realizing that Blake was already sitting by my side. He gave me the juice, which I gladly took.
“It’s a great day today! I’m thinking of touring you around the pack, Candice. Is it alright with you, Blake? Of course you have no say in this.” Jonnah spoke, pointed her fork at Blake, and gave me a small smile. Blake laughed, shook his head, and gave me another plate full of food. I just nodded at her because I was busy eating. After I finished eating my food, Jonnah grabbed me by the hand, and we went out of the house with her twins following us. It was a bright and sunny morning. White, fluffy clouds drifted across the sky. I smoothed my hair and inhaled the freshness of the wind. I saw children happily running and playing around the street. Jonnah brought me to where the plaza is. It's time to memorize this place. “What are you planning, Candice?” She worriedly inquired. “You’ll see.” I said that and grinned.
Blake
When I saw her sitting with my sister, Jonnah, I almost lost control and marked her right there. She’s fvcking beautiful in my shirt, and I won’t get tired of saying that every day. “Mark her!” My wolf urges me, and I chuckle. “Not now, Bud; we’ll wait till she accepts us.” I told him that he looked kind of irritated. I can’t blame him; he waited for this moment—for his mate. After Jonnah, the twins, and my mate, Candice, got out of the pack house, I quickly called Travis to my office to talk about the attack that happened. He entered my office and sat down on the chair in front of me. “This is all I could find, Blake,” he said, handing me a folder. I took it from him and opened it. I saw five dead men's bodies; these are the rogues that we encountered and killed yesterday.
"Do you notice these tattoos on their bodies?" He pointed to the intricate tattoo of a scorpion with an eye embedded on their back. “These are the tattoos of a certain rogue organization. Our intel told me about it. We know rogues, Blake; they don’t like to take orders from anyone; they are arrogant and prideful, but these rouges are different. Someone ordered them to kill you, Blake. Someone paid them.” He spoke seriously. I stared at the photos again. Who could have done it? I know I have a lot of enemies, but who could it be? I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard my phone ring.
Jonnah calling…
“Blake! Oh my god, Blake! You need to come here this instant!” She hysterically said this after I picked up her call. My body was immediately on high alert. She kept mumbling incoherent words that I couldn’t understand. “Jonnah, stop! Speak clearly; what is it?” I asked her, and I heard her inhale. She started crying.
“She’s gone! Candice is gone—” I didn't let her finish, so I immediately hung up. “Alert the sentinels, now!” I shouted; Travis ran out of the house, and I quickly followed him. I was too relaxed; I should have known. Fvck it! I should have known that she'd try to escape again.
