Chapter 44 - Hidden Danger

At this moment, a loud, slightly hoarse voice began to sound in the center of the town square.

Then the ruby-red pupils that he possessed had turned a deep red, it turned terrifyingly red like curdled blood.

Then William focused his vision to look at the people behind the two old men. In his vision, William saw a look of contempt plastered on their faces. Then William tried to read the movements of their lips carefully.

"Hey, what a fool! Do they think that our Secret Service Organization needs loan sharks like them who can only reduce cultivation resources? You guys are just lowly pets that we have taken good care of for the bright future of the Feysac Kingdom!”

“Don't say something like that! What if someone else hears it?”

As the people laughed happily, William just stared at him with cold eyes. They did not realize that the conversation had been known to William.

“Young master, what is wrong with your eyes? Are you okay?"

Just as William was peeking at the conversation of some of the young members of the Secret Service Organization, he suddenly heard a worried voice coming from beside him.

Without looking at the source of the voice, William knew that the little girl beside him had noticed the changes in his eyes. And was looking at him with a worried look.

"It's okay Chiaki, I just saw something that no one else should know." William retracted his Eyes of Wrath ability and whispered to the little girl beside him. William has no other choice other than lying about the situation he had just seen with that ability.

William was well aware of his current situation, even if Chiaki and Prince Alfreed were trustworthy companions it didn't mean William would tell them both. That was because once the three of them were discovered, he did not doubt that the entire Secret Service Organization would immediately kill the three of them without having the slightest resistance.

This was one of the reasons why William sought strength in such a hurry, it was because he didn't want to die without being able to put up the slightest resistance.

Then why didn't William reveal it anonymously to the other participants?

As has been said before, William is not as pure-hearted as people think. As long as there is no merit or a reasonable reason for him to act, William will not take any action.

Even if William had a little sympathy for all the participants present, he wouldn't have done something so stupid as revealing it. Besides, even if William talked about this matter to all of them, it didn't mean they would simply believe his words.

Even William believed that they all would stop at nothing to collect the red fire lotus spiritual plant even though they knew that the spiritual energy would be sucked out by it.
