“Have you seen their faces?” The Alpha of the pack, William Pataky, asked Liara, who was safely brought to the pack by the warriors that were sent after Evan and his warriors had mind-linked them about the trap. But it was their bad luck that by the time they reached the location, they found two warriors of the pack dead, and Liara Haysbert was missing. Everyone started searching for her badly. It was because of two reasons. First, all the students were their responsibility, and in the case of Liara, the Alpha had to face the wrath of a lot of powerful personalities, not just her father and brothers but even her sisters and brother-in-law would turn the whole pack upside down. And if this wasn't enough, then Liara's relatives were also damn too strong. The Alpha himself joined the search team when he came to know that Liara Haysbert was involved in this, but thankfully nothing happened to her, and they found her walking out of the forest with her heavy luggage. “No, Alpha.” Liara shook her head. She wasn’t trying to protect them. She was just speaking the truth. “They had worn the mask on their face.” She added next. Tobey Gilbert, William’s beta, suggested, “Do you think that vampire was planning to steal things? I mean, he stole Liara’s luggage?” On which Willian glared at Liara, “That reminds me, what the hell were you thinking, Liara? Why did you run behind them just for your BOOKS?” he growled in anger. “Have you lost your common sense by studying so many books?” Liara lowered her eyes and listened to his scolding. She knew that Alpha was scolding her because he cared for her like his daughter. Also, Willian Pataky was one of her professors. “I’m sorry, Sir.” She apologized. Her books were her love. How could she let it go just like that? Even in that situation when she knew that those vampires would throw those books after finding what was in her luggage!! “Sorry? You could have died, or worst they could have….” Alpha William didn’t complete the sentence, but indirectly he already signaled what he meant to say. Not all enemies had standards. Instead of killing straight, they torture their enemy in the worst way possible. That reminded Liara of how her mate stood protectively in front of her to save her from his friend’s attack or anger, but at the same time, she didn’t forget that he didn’t stop him from attacking her the first time. Then what made him stand up for her? Was he affected by mate bond? “But how did you find your books? They had masked their scent, hadn’t they?” Tobey Gilbert asked in confusion. ‘If I would say that I could sense HIM, then they might use me to get him.’ Liara thought, and no matter what, she couldn’t reveal this to them. She hated to admit it, but she couldn’t see him in pain or worst, even though he and his friend had killed two pack members. “From the smell of my books, I was able to find the boxes of books that were in the middle of the forest.” She half lied. Not just the smell of the books but also HIS smell led her near them. Both Alpha and Beta looked at her in shock. ‘Smell of books?’ Maybe only NERD like her could smelt it. And that was true; Liara could tell which was which subjects book by just its smell if those books belonged to her because her smelling power in terms of paper, ink, pen, etc., was too good. “Oh, okay!!” Alpha William nodded his head, not doubting her. “And there is a request, Liara. Please…. Please don’t tell about it your family members about it. I assure you that this situation will be taken care of. If this news goes out, then many werewolves would start taking their pups out of here.” He added. “And there is nothing to worry about. Our territory is protected by a vampire’s shield, so no vampires can come inside until someone invites them inside. The security system is too high because we know that we have the responsibilities of a lot of werewolves’ pups.” Alpha William explained. “It’s okay, sir!! I won’t say anything to dad.” Liara said before leaving his office and going toward her room in the hostel. Unlike other girls, she didn’t have to share her room with anyone. Hell, a whole floor was allotted to her so that no one could disturb her in anyways. Since Liara’s family was one of the biggest investors in the security or development of the pack, no one could say NO when Brandon Haysbert, Liara’s father, demanded a whole floor for her daughter. It was definitely not because she was raised as a princess but because Liara hated disturbance while studying, and also, she liked staying ALONE. “And the princess is here.” Molly Hemsworth, Liara’s classmate, mocked, watching her enter the hostel. Liara ignored her presence and waited for the elevator. “I heard that there was some attack by vampires outside the pack,” she said, blowing all the smoke of the cigarette out of her mouth at Liara’s face. Liara coughed and ignored her again. “I have heard that vampires kidnap beautiful she-wolves and r**e them as fun.” Hearing this, Liara shivered in fear, thinking about her mate. Would… would he do the same to her? “Why are you getting worried, shorty? I mentioned BEAUTIFUL she-wolves, not an ugly duckling.” Molly laughed at her and pulled her ponytail for fun. “Ahh!” Liara whimpered. “Your hair is now long again. It will be fun to cut them down again.” Molly said in a wicked tone, scaring Liara, who quickly pulled her hair and went inside the elevator with her luggage and watched Molly laughing at her. She recalled how Molly, with her gang, had cut her long hair to the waist. ‘b***h’ Destiny cursed in anger. ‘I swear that I will kick her ass one day.’ She muttered. ‘I won’t want any fight, Destiny. We’re here for studying, so let’s just focus on that.’ Liara said, settling in her room. She joined the college at the age of just 12 years old because of her intelligent mind. So, back then, without the wolf, she was everyone’s favorite target. Things weren’t in the same way after her wolf showed. It was true that Destiny wasn’t a trained she-wolf, but she was still an alpha female. On the top, she had the same red wolf as his brother Calvin Haysbert, who had a bad temper. ‘Yeah! Right.’ Destiny mumbled. Liara dialed her mother’s number observing a couple of missed call who was concerned for her. After disconnecting the call, she went into the washroom to freshen up. She tried, she really tried not to think about him, but his red eyes were popping in front of her mind all the time, scaring her. ‘I have heard that vampires kidnap beautiful she-wolves and r**e them as fun.’ Molly’s words kept ringing in her ear. She knew this was also the truth, and these weren’t a side thing. Even evil werewolves used to do the same with female vampires. She recalled how he stood in front of her to protect her, and a small smile appeared on her lips unknowingly, but then he disappeared in the darkness, dragging his friend with him. * “Why did you stop me from hitting the mutt? Why did you save her? I wanted to know how she traced us?” Alaric asked when Beast forcefully dragged him away from there. ‘I saved her?’ Beast thought to himself. He was mad at himself for not being able to control his emotions the moment he saw tears in her eyes. ‘Will I always lose control over myself every time I see a tear in her eyes?’ He asked. “Beasty, why did you stop me?” Alaric asked again. “Elder Ozul has asked us to do our work silently. We have to kill every mutt in the entire world by killing her tonight; this pack members would have been alerted. On the top, the family of that girl would have started hunting us from tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.” Beast replied. “So, stay calm, and there is nothing to hurry about. Do you know the story of a rabbit and a tortoise? We have to act like the tortoise to win this race.” He spoke. “Now, dare you to ask anything from me.” He warned. He was already irritated and pissed with the news that he had discovered, and Alaric’s question was not helping at all. “Do you think that she had some sort of powers? But the wolf doesn’t have one until they’re blessed by Mother Selene personally?” Alaric asked again, to which Beast ignored him. “Or she is my mate?” Alaric assumed. Hearing it, Beast grabbed the sheet tightly, controlling his anger. “That… that can be a chance because most of the powers don’t work on mate.” That was it. Beast walked out of the hotel room that they had booked in the human world near the pack. He wanted to be alone. He loved being alone. * After a while, he was sleeping on the tree, looking at the Moon, who was ‘Moon Goddess for werewolves and Mother Selene for vampires.’ On the other side, Liara was also looking at Moon. The same thought was going on in their mind. ‘WHY?’ ‘Why did you mess up pairing my life with my enemy?’ ‘I want to hate my mate, but I can’t.’ ‘I want to hurt my mate, but I can’t.’ The only solution that they could find for this problem was REJECTION. . #TBC .
