Entangled

Chapter 8

The alarm clock placed by the side of Friedrick's bed woke him up from his sleep. He checked the time and it was 6:15 am. He had bought that particular alarm clock specifically to enable him to wake up on time and prepare for the office.

He reluctantly stood up from the bed and walked straight to the bathroom to have his bath, it was quite a tiring night for him and wished he could go back to sleep, but that would not be possible as he needed to be in the office, if not for any other reason at least for the fact that he needs his boss not to relieve him of his duties as she had earlier threatened the previous day, getting another job most especially a job that is as good as this, would really be a difficult task.

He quickly had his bath and returned to dress up for the day, he wore a blue blazer on a black trousers and his Perfume on.

Aside from Friedrick's cute face, one of the things that easily attracts women to him is his fashion sense and good smell.

He quickly hurried out of the house to go board a taxi to the office, the need to buy a new car crossed his mind again.

The flash of his encounter with the pretty lady that helped him fix the taxi the other day crossed his mind. He suddenly remembered about the phone number she gave him.

He remembered he had put the complimentary card in the shirt pocket he wore the previous day.

"Oh my goodness,I would not forgive myself if I misplaced that card," he said.

A few minutes later the taxi pulled up at the company gate, he alighted from the taxi and went into the company premises, he looked around for madam Caterina's car but it was not anywhere in the premises.

He proceeded to his office.

Caterina woke up very excited. There's this kind of feeling that has lingered within her all through the night.

Caterina could not say exactly what has been causing this kind of satisfaction she has been feeling recently. As she excitedly went to get her dress from the closet, she made sure that the door to her room was properly locked else her daughter would sneak in on her again.

There was a knock on the door

"Who is there, you can come in," she said.

A staff walked into the room.

"Sorry to bother you ma'am,I came to inform you that the table has been set for breakfast," she said.

"Ok, thank you, I would be coming to the table soonest," Caterina replied.

Madam Caterina took one of the best clothes, she wore a black jumpsuit matched with a Calvin Klein handbag and a pair of heels.

"Good morning mum," Kim greeted her mum as she approached the dining table.

"Good morning sweetheart, how was your night," Caterina asked.

"My night was good," Kim replied.

"I have told you to look for something to do, I mean you can't just sit at home all day, you can join me at the company if you wish," Mrs Caterina said.

"I do not wish to work in your company mum, I want something different from what you do," Kim insisted.

"That's okay if you wish," Caterina said.

After her breakfast with her daughter, she took up her hand bag and headed to the office.

Caterina arrived at the company and went straight to her office. She checked the time from her wrist watch and realized that she had come late to the office. It was unlike her to come to the office late. She has always set good examples for the workers, but right now, matters of the heart are actually making her bend some of her rules.

"Good morning ma'am," Anne said.

"Good morning Anne,is Mr Lucas in the office already?" Caterina asked.

"Yes, ma'am, he is the office," Anne replied.

"Tell him to see me," Caterina ordered.

Madam Caterina was glad that Friedrick was in the office already, a beautiful smile curled in her lips, knowing that Friedrick is not taking her weakness as a reason not to take his job seriously, she was glad that she is still in control of things, even though she had let her body and heart lose to Friedrick's touch, Friedrick still respects her.

Friedrick knocked at the office door.

"Good morning ma'am," he greeted.

"Good morning Mr Lucas, it is good to see that you are here in time today," she said, maintaining a serious face.

"Yes ma'am, I tried my best to be here in time, even though I had to skip breakfast," he explained.

"Oh!" She exclaimed indifferently about his situation.

"I saw your text message,your interest to join me in the upcoming seminar," she added.

"Yes ma'am, it would be my pleasure to go along with you," he responded.

"Well, you have to prepare for it, make sure you put in all the necessary things you would be needing, I have made arrangements for our flight tickets, you have to bear in mind that the seminar is not just about all work, there will be fun activities too," she explained.

The thought of attending the much anticipated seminar with his boss would be one of the best adventures of his life, the moment his boss said that there would be fun activities has really gladdened his heart.

He went back to his office with so much happiness and he wondered what he would be expecting from the event.

It was time for lunch, Friedrick remembered he had skipped breakfast earlier the day.

After the day's job Friedrick returned to his apartment, he rushed to the pocket of the shirt where he had put the card given to him by Kim.

Unfortunately he could not find the card in the pocket where he had kept it.

"Where on earth could I have misplaced this card," he said aloud.

Ever since he had met Kim on the road, he had always wanted to be with her, the little time they had spoken with each other on the road was a beautiful moment that he wished he could always have, and now the only thing that could make him meet this pretty lady again, he could not find it.
