Jessica stood in front of the mirror in the bathroom. Her long blonde hair looked as perfect as always, her makeup looked flawless screaming 'I woke up like this' although she was still hungover, she refused to let it show on her face.
She walked out of the bathroom, being one who was always curious she looked over Leigh's side of the room trying to know what Leigh was doing. Unfortunately, the curtain in between both sides of the room gave nothing away.
Her 8 am class began 20 minutes ago.
It's time to leave.
Jessica opened the door to leave when she saw a guy with his fist raised blocking her path.
"Hey," he said dropping his hands. "Is Leigh in?" He asked stepping away from the door.
Jessica ignored the guy in front of her and left, leaving the door slightly open.
*****
Jessie turned and watched Jessica walk away, the click of her heels gradually fading.
'How rude'
He walked in and headed to Leigh's bed pushing the curtain out of his way.
"Hey" he moved to the foot of her bed "I brought you coffee".
Leigh sat on her back, making room for Jessie on her bed.
"You can't stay a morning without this right? Extra whip cream just the way you like it" Jessie said grinning.
Leigh collected the coffee from him, sipping on it when her eyes caught something.
"What happened?" she asked.
"What do you mean?" Jessie replied.
"Your knuckles," Leigh said staring at Jessie's bloody knuckles.
"It's nothing. It happened while boxing at the gym".
Leigh stared at Jessie. She knew he was lying, she saw his left little finger twitch.
But why? Why did he lie?
"Uhm how are you feeling?" Jessie asked diverting the attention from his knuckles.
"Nothing new"
"I left something at the door" he got to his feet.
Leigh sipped on her coffee and watched Jessie walk in with her bags.
"How?" She asked.
"The garage has security cameras, I got the recordings," he said dropping the last bag on the floor.
Leigh knelt down beside her bags searching it all for her stuff.
"Is it......there?" Jessie asked hopefully.
"Yeah"
"All of it?"
"All of it" she confirmed.
"Great now I can leave for class, when is yours?"
"Noon" she answered.
"You can get some food from the cafeteria, you know where that is?"
"I'll find my way"
