Chapter Nine
Kes was dreaming. He knew everything he was seeing and hearing and touching wasn’t real, but he couldn’t wake up. Or maybe it was only that he didn’t want to.
He was at his home in Annwn and everything was normal. He’d made it home early from work for once, and he was playing with Miki in the living room while Izzy fixed dinner. His little girl had invited him to a tea party at her playhouse, but unfortunately he was too big to fit in it. He was forced to sit outside the window while the other guests all crammed around a small table inside, perching lopsidedly on three-legged stools.
Teddy was one of the guests, though his rotund tummy indicated he’d been to a few too many parties in his time and eaten far too much cake. Giraffe was there too, her head poking out of the top
