Chapter Eleven Kes burst into the lab, accidentally slamming the door against the temporary wall. All the scientists pivoted and stared at him. “Everyone, stop what you’re doing and go to the meeting room immediately. I want you all there in two minutes.” There was a moment of stunned silence, and then all the women and men began to move, quickly putting down their instruments, equipment, or interfaces. Kes strode through the scientists, organizing his thoughts as he went. On his way to the lab, he’d been joyous. He’d finally made the breakthrough they needed.
