Fear the Reaper

Chapter 2

"Any suggestions?" tanong ko sa kanila habang kanya-kanya sila ng pagsulat ng kani-kanilang pangalan sa attendance sheet. 

May nagtaas ng kamay.

"Yes, Estes?" tanong ko sa kanya na ang ruta ay papunta ng Elysium where he is in charge of delivering souls who are meant to be in there according to the weight of goodness they did when they are still alive. He delivers souls to the Fourth and Fifth pearl doors. Ito ang gate papasok sa level ng Elysium. 

"I recommend adding more guards during transportation, Boss. Many soul stealer birds are attacking us and harassing us. And they are growing in numbers. Sometimes we barely reached the destination allotted time because we needed to fight and chase them away. Souls become agitated when those pests are coming for them," sabi pa niya. "Boss, I recommend your best warriors to protect us," sabi pa niya. 

"Noted Estes. I'll have to discuss this matter with my generals. Rest assured you can have my letter of approval after I discuss this to them," sagot ko kanya. 

"Thank you boss. It will help us a lot," sabi niya bago naupo. 

"Anymore?" tanong ko. 

Wala ng nagtaas ng kamay. 

"Alright, let's proceed to your expenses budgeting," sabi ko pa bago pinitik ang aking mga daliri at lumitaw sa likuran ko ang malaking screen kung saan nakasulat doon lahat ang buong budget ng Soul Transporting Department ng Axis Mundi.  "This is the report that was passed to me by Grimm," sabi ko bago tuningin sa kanila. "Recently, the souls that is supposed to die each second are increasing. And I understand if you psychopomps needed to double your time just to deliver souls twice per hour to their designated places. So I decided to increase your salary plus overtime pays for your family. And also I decided to make your day-off twice a week but the other day is a paid day-off. I have already interviewed more ferryman who applied for the job and replaced those who are now retired. Does anyone doesn't satisfied of my proposal?" tanong ko sa kanila. 

"No one boss! Thank you very much for listening to our wishes and suggestions," sabi ng leader nila. "We don't have any matters to say, Boss. You answered it all and we are satisfied," sabi pa niya. 

"Very well. Then proceed to the banquet area. Foods are prepared for you. Enjoy it. I'm sorry, I couldn't be with you that long. I need to attend an important matters today," sabi ko bago tumayo at saka bumaling kay Grimm. "Guide them and make sure they go home happy and satisfied," bilin ko sa kanya bago naglaho. 

"Charon," tanong ko sa lalaking nakaupo sa upuan habang binabasa ang mga papel na nasa harapan niya paglitaw ko sorting room. 

"Boss?" tanong niya. 

"Everything is in order?" 

"Yes boss. The souls are sorted and are all sent to their designated transportation," sagot niya sa akin. 

"Good. I should get going. I have another meeting again. Keep sorting and leave the report on my desk afterwards," sabi ko sa kanya before vanishing. 

I'm telling you, that being the Death is a pain in the ass. You need to have watchful eyes all over your men working under Axis Mundi. In Axis Mundi, I have five fractions. One is the Death Timers, they are those who check the time and day of an individual's death followed by Death Reapers, these are those who cut the souls from the body when an individual's death comes. And then followed by Soul Collectors. They are those who follow Death Reapers and collect the souls of the dead and guide them to Axis Mundi. Death Timers will list all the souls that are collected before passing them to the sorting rooms to short which falls down to the Sorting Masters. These masters weigh the good and the evil that souls made when they were still alive. In this process souls are already sorted to where they should go as their final resting place, Elysium or Cythonic. Those souls that are sorted will be passed down to the Psychopomps Ferrymen. They are incharge of delivering those souls to their final destination under Grimm's watch. 

Axis Mundi has a serious defence that no one can break. Aside from my eyes, my legions of warriors can rival the Archangels' Powers and Archdemons' Eligios warriors. Aside from my own warriors, anyone who tried to barge inside my domain will be burned alive by the blue fire surrounding Axis Mundi. This has all been prepared by me. 

"You're late, soul reaper," sabi sa akin ni Satan, the king of all archdemons and the Devil himself. 

"It's Celestial Reaper, you dumb," inis na sagot ko sa kanya bago naupo sa tabi niya. 

"Why must I be in this situation?" inis na sabi ko sa aking sarili. 

"Oh my bad," sagot niya and chuckling. 

"Shut it Satan. We are here to discuss an important matter not to tease our fellow Celestial," sabi sa kanya ni Seraphim, the highest ranking angel than Archangels who follow his order and the embodiment of loyalty and goodness. 

Hindi nakinig si Satan sa kanya bagkus ay lumapit pa ito sa akin at bumulong-bulong sa aking tenga. 

"Leave Axis Mundi and be my Queen," bulong niyang sabi. 

Napapiksi ako palayo sa kanya. At tumingin sa kanyang mga mata.

Damn it. Satan is one ball of real handsomeness, sexiness and all the words you can tell to a perfect body of a man. 

"Sorry, you don't interest me," sagot ko sa kanya bago lumipat ng upuan na siyang ikinatawa niya. 

Napailing na lamang si Seraphim. 

"Nine, sorry for what my people did to you," sabi niya sa akin which earned him a glare from me. 

"I don't have patience Seraphim. I told you many times to watch your own people," sabi ko sa kanya. "No one is allowed to grant immortality to the individual living on Earth. I will never allow such an insult to me as the Death," sabi ko pa sa kanya. 

Tumawa lang si Satan. 

"And also you," baling ko sa kanya. "Keep your pests away from my men. Are you that hungry to steal souls from them? Haven't you had enough of the goner souls I sent to you? Why must my workers interfere?" 

Napatingin ito sa akin.

"Darling you are the food I want to eat. I want  you completely inside my tummy so you can't leave me and you will be mine for eternity," sagot niya.

"Jesus Satan!" sabi ni Seraphim.

"Oh don't ever mention that name," sagot ni Satan kay Seraphim. 

Seraphim glared at him. 

Of course, Satan probably still remembers the time when he was shot down by Jesus many times before. 

Tumayo ako upang makuha ang atensyon ng dalawa. 

"Vampires are meant to be extinct, aren't they?" tanong ko sa dalawa, especially Satan since it's his spawn who keeps on creating them. 

Tumango ang dalawa. 

"I got an order from the Highest Chief," sabi ni Seraphim. "In the letter that was sent to me, Earth will enter the phase of cleansing. Vampires, shifters and any other entities that live there should be wiped out. The Chief prioritizes humans to live there. Those other races who fed on them should be eliminated at all cause," sabi pa niya. "And also, those who don't follow this will be subject to the Celestial Reapers judgements."

"Wow. Seriously hottie? You will be gaining more haters from on," sabi ni Satan habang nakatingin sa akin sa paraan na hinuhubaran ako. 

"Shut your trap Satan. I'm not done reading yet," bulyaw sa kanya ni Seraphim. 

"Okay proceed, your highness," pabirong sagot ni Satan.

Seraphim glared at him before proceeding to read. 

"The task of cleansing the Earth should be done right before the Celestial Reaper falls into her Ecdysis. Earth should be free from radicals. Humans will be created and they are the only ones who will live on Earth.," sabi pa niya.

I grimaced. 

Ecdysis, a process that makes my body shed my old snake skin. This process will consume all my strength so I undergo sleeping to get my strength back. This usually lasted for thousands of eons. I got to the Abyssal Limbo, the place where I sleep and that is in the lowest level of Axis Mundi that no one is allowed to enter. I was originally a snake. I was called a lot of names before I finally had a human-like body. I still change into my huge serpient body when Ecdysis is coming.

"You can come into my chamber and sleep with me, my darling," pabirong sabi pa ni Satan. 

"Ignoring those bastard inappropriate words, Nine. You must complete this task," sabi pa niya. 

Tumango ako sa kanya. I still have a lot of Eons before I sleep.

Noong mabasa na ni Seraphim ang mensahe para sa akin, nagpaalam na ako sa kanila kahit na tutol ang malanding Satan na iyon. That freaking devil is a Celestial w***e. He has legions of Harem within his domain who he can do s****l acts freely.

I appeared inside my assistant's office. 

"Grimm," sabi ko sa kanya habang naglilist ito ng mga natapos ng soul delivery. 

"Yes, Boss?"  tanong niya ng hindi man lang tumitingin sa akin.

"I want you to gather every leader of every faction. We need to discuss a very important meeting. Earth will undergo cleansing. Every other living thing in there should be wiped out before my sleep," sabi ko sa kanya. 

"Understood, boss. I'll call each of them now," sagot niya. 

"Good. Call me when everyone is in the meeting room. I'll be at my office," sabi ko sa kanya before vanishing. 

Habang nagbabasa ako ng report, nabasa ko ang pagkawala ng Seed of Blood. This seed is similar to the seed of life. It was securely well stored in the Eden which Gabriel was tasked to guard. Hindi ko ito concern since it is not me who kept it. News is spreading rapidly. And Archangel Miguel is furious. Gabriel is being interrogated now. 

"What a bunch of fools," sabi ko kay Grimm na lumitaw sa aking likuran. 

"Indeed, boss. By the way, they are all here," sagot niya sa akin.

"Okay," sagot ko sa kanya before vanishing after him.
