CHAPTER 10 Looking to the guard who had turned to look in their direction, Toby was shocked to see the man was frozen. Toby then looked to the other guards and saw that they, too, stood stone still. It must be Kali. He thought. “Let’s go, this may be our only chance,” Toby said and grabbed Nash’s hand tight, then took off across the expansive, lush green lawn. The others all ran close behind, bolting past the frozen guard. Once they made it to the patio, Toby threw his back against the wall next to Nash. Nash carefully peered around the edge of the window, looking into the house, then turned back to look at Toby. “No one in this room. Let’s move.” Nash kept his grip on Toby’s hand and pulled him along as they made their way to a set of French doors. Nash turned back to him again after l
