Mayura's pov
Finally we landed to Mumbai. They said that Mumbai has a special glamor. Its the city of dreams and I'm here to fulfil all of my dreams. We basically I have called my parents that we have reached. Mihi has sent a voice note as both of her parents are busy.
"cupcake are you planning to only stand here? We have to go hostel and find our room." Mihi remind me
"yes come we will take taxi for the college hostel," I said
"cupcake I'm hungry, can we eat something then go?" Mihi give me her pleading look
"OK no problem. Lets go and eat street food. You know vada pav is my favourite. Mumbai's vada pav is the best.." I told her
"sure thing," we dragged our luggage that is not much because after one month our luggage will come here. Mihi will manage it so we don't have many bags.
We ate vada pav and its yummy.
Vada pav, is a vegetarian fast food dish native to the state of Maharashtra. The dish consists of a deep fried potato dumpling placed inside a bread bun (pav) sliced almost in half through the middle. It is generally accompanied with one or more chutneys and a green chilli pepper. Although it originated as cheap street food in Mumbai, it is now served in food stalls and restaurants across India. It is also called Bombay burger in keeping with its origins and its resemblance in physical form to a burger.
After eating I paid the vendor and was about to left but I saw a girl is walking through the road. She has ear phones in her ear. A truck is coming towards her.
I didn't waste any time ignoring Mihi's calls I ran towards the girl and push her with my body before the truck Can hit her.
The truck hit a tree in front. It looks that the breaks were not working.
"are you out of your mind? Who walk this carelessly? Don't you know how much dangerous it can be? What if I didn't saved you?" I just bombarded the girl with my questions
The girl is looking shocked till now. She didn't answer me.
"I'm sorry, and thank you so much for saving my life, I can't think what would have happened if you didn't saved me," the girl said
"Cupcake have you gone insane? What was that? Are you OK?" Mihi came and ask me
"I'm fine Mihi, don't worry about me," I said
I totally forgot to ask her that If she is ok.
"hey are you OK? I'm sorry I should not lash out on you like that," I said to the girl
"it's OK you did the right thing. And I'm fine. Don't worry about me. Thanks again," the girl said
Before I can say anything Mihi dragged me from there and I mouthed sorry to her.
"What was that Mihi? Why did you drag me here from there? What will the girl will think?" I asked her
"Mayura I'm telling you for the last time. Don't you ever dare to put your life in danger. You know very well that I don't have anyone else then you. My parents don't give a s**t to me, only their work matters to them. I only have you as my best friend and sister never ever do this. What if the truck hit you? What if something happens to you? What would I have done? What would I have told uncle and auntie? Huh? "Mihi said and started crying
Mihi never call my name. And If she did then it means she is angry or sad and this time she is both. I never saw her crying. The last time I saw her crying when her elder brother was in danger. I don't know who is he but he stay in Dehradun. He is her cousin and she love him very much. I only have heard about him never I see him or hear his name. I never asked her about her cousin or his family.
"I'm sorry Mihi. I never planned to hurt you. I just wanted to help that girl. You see na that the truck was about to hit her. And the truck was out of control. I just wanted to help her save her life. She also has a family. They are waiting for her. I know the feeling when you wait for your loved ones but they don't come back ever. It hurt very much. "I said and unwanted tears came out of my eyes
" hey Cupcake don't cry please. I will not scold you but you know na how much I love you? I'm so sorry please forgive me don't cry "Mihi said crying again
" OK ok now stop crying, we don't Need to waste our time by crying. We still have to go to our hostel, "I said and we both smiled like idiots
We booked a cab and reach our hostel. The warden is not that strict at all like you will find in movies or serials.
She greeted us politely and give us our room key. We both are only sharing the room.
We open the door of our new room and it's really good. I must say the room and the hostel is really good. They have maintained it well.
Our room is painted in white and gray. It's giving a classy look.
"wow yar our room is good. I thought our stay will be boring here but well I must say he has arranged a good room," Mihi said and I look at her in a questioning manner
"I mean my father. He has arranged our stay. After all I'm Mihika Verma daughter of Raj Verma.." Mihi said dramatically
"fine I'm going to take shower then you can take. After this we have to unpack our luggage. We have college from tomorrow. I'm really exited about tomorrow. We are starting our medical journey finally. I can't wait to complete our course and become a doctor. I have to make my parents proud. Both of my parents tomorrow Is going to change our life, "I said with a longing look reminding my parents
" I'm also excited because you are exited you know I'm not interested in being a cardiologist but I am interested to see you smiling. Indeed tomorrow is going to change your life with mine as well "Mihi said and I took a pair of clothes and go to take shower..
