After a day in bed with Zane, I felt like myself again and was ready to get back on my feet. Fortunately, the potion worked, releasing me from Kendric's grip and giving me a moment of respite.
Kendric has been in control the entire time with that gem shard. I could break his commands with a good amount of effort, most likely due to it just being a shard. It made little sense to me as to why he didn't use that control over me when he fought Zane. What was he up to?
I applied a good amount of power to myself to break the slave mark. That’s not the first time I’ve turned my fire on myself to do that, but this time, I broke it quickly. Was the reason for it that the rest of my power was reawakened? Or was it because Kendric weakened the barrier?
