Jax was uncontrollable as he felt his mate die against our body. I refused to accept it as I held her tightly. Sage sacrificed her life to save mine.
“The bond should help heal her; I just have to keep her close,” I muttered out loud as I heard Alex approach the room.
Alex growled the moment he noticed Sage’s lifeless body in my arms. “She saved you,” Alex said as he walked closer.
“Why would she do that? Why would she take the bullet for me?” I asked.
