“W-What the?” My emerald eyes bulged even though it was naturally narrowed. Why the heck am I seeing some golden egg inside of my spacious untidy room?!

The golden egg looks so shiny like it was polished and rubbed with some expensive wax a thousand times, it almost looked like there were some silver lightings or sparkles that can be seen floating from around it.

What in the world? How did this thing get inside my room? Did someone put it over there? But the door was locked. This sounds and looks really suspicious, I want to touch it but I’m scared of what might happen to me. I have decided to put my things on my wooden study table still eyeing the golden egg.

I tried to study and answered some of our given assignments, but I just can’t focus at all. Something about this egg is making my unconscious thoughts really curious. I was currently observing the golden egg when it suddenly moved a little. Am I seeing things?

I almost jumped when it moved a little more excessively, I started to panic when I heard some cracking sounds that almost sounded like an earthquake. Is it hatching?! I started to move away from it and closed my eyes when it hatched because a golden light was suddenly coming out of it, blinding everyone who was at sight.

When the glowing light disappeared, I slowly lifted my head again while opening my eyes. My eyes widened again upon seeing a naked man’s back. W-What the hell!?

I tried to cover my eyes, but I just can’t resist checking him out because of the almost sculpted muscles, he has a very good built…I shook my head, what the hell Nyx! He’s a total stranger!

“Y-You! W-Who are you? What are you doing inside my room?” I nervously asked and tried to find something that can help me with my self-defense, we were taught how to fight because were all born to be warriors and protectors of this world. After finding our mates and if they successfully shared their powers with us when they possessed us, we could wield or bend their powers too in our human form.

Unfortunately for me, I don’t have a mate yet so I’ll just use everything that I have in myself if this man was a threat. He moved and suddenly faced me which made me scream because he’s freaking naked! I was astounded when he ran towards me to hug me.

“Waa! Finally, I found you!” he muttered happily like a child that doesn’t really suit his well-being, I need to calm down and think I don’t really understand what’s happening at the moment. What does he mean that he found me? I tried to push him off away from me, but he just wouldn’t budge. He looks and feels so strong too.

Was this man came from that golden egg? I don’t understand…what is he? Is he dangerous? Why was he inside of that freaking golden egg?!

“W-What are you doing stranger? Let me go! You’re freaking naked! Pervert! Get off me!” I complained, so he broke his hug to me and faced me.

I flinched and stop after seeing his bare face, he was the description of perfection…his skin was slightly tanned, his lustrous thick tousled hair was dark brown and has yellow highlights on selected strands of his hair, his brows were thick and narrowed, his silver eyes were like luring me in to drown on a deep ocean, his lips were thin and pinkish you can tell that it’s kissable.

Damn he’s too much for me, this is so unfair he’s too handsome, my eyes suddenly widened when I saw his eyes were starting to swell up in tears and he’s pouting.

Damn it! Cuteness overload! I think I’m going to have a heart attack!

“D-Do you hate me that much Nyx? Waaaaa huhuhu! Don’t hate me please huhu!” he asked like he was helpless in some hard situation which made me raise my hand because he was starting to cry out loud now. Damn! He’s handsome, but why is he acting like a child? He looks like he’s about my age too.

“A-Ah no um, I-It’s not like that…it’s just that...I don’t know you and how did you know about my name?” I asked confusingly and I then remembered that he was still naked. Crap! I turned my back on him.

“D-Don’t leave me Nyx please huhu!” he cried not answering my questions while clinging on to my arms tightly, so I just sighed. What is his deal?

“I’m not going to leave you. W-Wait here…I’ll just go and get you some decent clothes or you’ll catch a cold,” I immediately left my room and went to get some clothes from my Uncle’s wardrobe.

My bewildered thoughts from the moment that I saw that golden egg was puzzled up until now, questions kept on appearing on my mind what is he? Is he a human dragon? Then why did he come from an egg? I don’t understand is he a mortal? I shrugged and went to get some decent clothes, his built was bigger than my uncle so I don’t know if this will fit him.

When I have decided what clothes he should wear, I went back to my room only to see that he’s starting to build the cracked shells of the golden egg all back together again. What the hell?

“H-Hey? What are you doing?” I confusingly asked and he just stared at me while pouting, it’s a good thing though because half of his body was already covered with golden eggshells.

“You hate me…I might as well stay here forever huhu!” he mumbled like a drama queen, so I sighed and handed him over the clothes.

“Here, get dressed, and let’s talk downstairs I’ll cook you something,” I ordered, which made his eyes glow like stars in the night sky. He’s so weird...I shrugged and was about to go out to give him some privacy when I saw that he wore the pajamas on his head and his blouse on his bottom.

“W-What the hell are you doing? Don’t you know how to get dressed?!” I furiously asked, he tilted his head at me quizzically like he doesn’t have any idea at all.

“Eh? All I know is I have to protect you, protect you nothing else hehehe!” he said which made me stop, protect me from what? I shook my head maybe he’s talking nonsense Nyx, he’s insane just help him wear his clothes.

“The one on your head goes on the bottom and that is called a pajama and the blouse, the one on your feet goes at the top okay?” I ordered, so he just nodded like he got it already and smiled happily.

“Yay! Thank you, Nyx! Don't worry I easily adapt to some environment, I’ll be with you downstairs!” he beamed, so I just nodded and left the room to cook something for him.

I decided to cook some curry since there’s a bit of meat, potatoes, and carrots left on the fridge, when I was done preparing the meal for us, he’s already downstairs smiling at me like a kid. I blushed at the sight of him, he really looks so hot and handsome in decent tight clothes. I knew it would really fit him that much, he’s built is too perfect.

“Yaay! What did my Nyx cook for me?” he cheered happily while clapping his hands as he went through the chairs, scooping loads of rice and curry on his empty plate. He took a mouthful bite of his food and he moaned in delight after tasting it.

“Waaa! You cook so good Nyx! So delicious!” he happily said, which made me flinched and sigh. I’m not used to other’s company yet, I’ve learned to mistrust lots of mortals and human dragons because they keep on making fun of me. I was alone for years and this feels kind of new.

I decided to eat with him and it fascinated me to watch him because he finishes it in a minute and was starting to get his seconds.

“Can I ask you something?” I asked, so he stops while looking at me intently and smiled.

“Anything!” he beamed with food still currently in his mouth, I shook my head and look straight into his almost shining silver eyes.

“Who are you and how did you know my name? Do I know you from somewhere?” I asked, which made him gulped his food as he placed down his spoon and fork the plate casually.

It really looks like he's very easy to adapt to some environment.

“I was looking for you for a long time now,” he mumbled, and for a moment I thought he was serious, but then he smiled like a child again. Looking for me but why? Do I know him from somewhere?

“My name is Ash Flynn Lux, your human dragon mate!” he happily said, which made me drop my spoon on the floor, m-mate? Did I just hear him right?

“W-What? A-Are you serious? Y-You’re my mate?” I unbelievably asked, so he just nodded while finishing his third plate.

“I’ve been waiting for you Hailey Nyx Jaden, I miss you,” he mumbled, which made me really surprised. I don’t understand…I know for sure that I have just seen this guy just now, so how did he know about me and most especially my whole name!

And he’s a dragon? What kind of dragon is he? I don’t see humans came from eggs and that egg wasn’t any normal eggs I usually see on our markets, it’s golden.

“I don’t believe you…humans don’t come from eggs!” I argued, which made him tilt his head on my gaze.

“Eh? Dragons do come from eggs am I right Nyx?” he mumbled happily which made me sigh in disbelief, that doesn’t make any sense at all! He’s still a human for damn’s sake!

“Believe me Nyx, I’ve been waiting and looking for you for such a long time now,” I look at him again and noticed that his gaze was really serious, but he smiled again like he’s just really happy to see me.

“W-What kind of a dragon are you?” I curiously asked, which made him stop and look at me intently.

“One of a kind,” he muttered which made me feel some chills for a moment. What was that? It felt like a cold fire. Is that even existing? I shook my head as I took the final spoon of my meal while looking at him.

There’s something really odd to him that I can’t point out, he seems to look really harmless and he looks undeniably handsome, but there’s something inside me that tells me that he’s something really not ordinary than the rest of the Mortals and human dragons that I have met or encountered. He feels so...powerful.

“Are you really sure that y-you’re…m-my…m-my…” I can’t even say those four words, it just that it’s really hard to believe. Usually, your mates will find you once you have entered the University and when you reach the age of fifteen.

When you reached age eighteen and still haven't found your mate you're ought to be alone forever. That's what they said.

“It hurts...I never imagined being greeted like this by my lifetime mate! You can’t even believe me on my own true words huhu!” he mumbled like he’s about to cry, I panicked when some tears suddenly left his eyes, he looks really hurt.

“I-I’m sorry…it’s just that why did you only appear now?” I bitterly asked, which made him stop and look at me intently, I’m trying so hard to hide my pain and suffering. I hope and wish that he won’t notice it.

I’ve been waiting for my mate my whole life, heck I almost gave up on waiting for him. I don’t even care if he’s a mortal or a human dragon…I keep on praying and wishing every day because I just want someone to be there for me. So why just now?

I was astounded and gasp when he was suddenly on my sides as he holds my shoulders so tightly, the sparks and heat that was coming from his touch ignited my whole body like he’s waking me up from a deep slumber.

I didn’t know that this feeling would be for real but his touch also felt so powerful, the closeness of him to me allowed me to stare at his silver eyes that almost look like it was glowing. It’s so enchanting.

“Nyx…” he called, his voice felt so powerful in my whole system, it reached my heart and clouded mind. It was so soothing like it had immediately erased all of my worries and pain.

“I’m sorry…I’m sorry Nyx,” he muttered and hugged me so tightly, I don’t know why but his warm hug made me swell up in tears. I don’t even know why he’s saying sorry to me but his hug made me feel safe and sound.

“I’m here now…I’ll protect you, my mate,” he mumbled against my back while comforting me. With his warm hug and comforting words, I think I can finally sleep soundly at night.
