PAGE ELEVEN - Three idiots

I gulped upon seeing his knuckles were red, so I can tell that he really slammed his fists on the table to get our attention. Draven and Kathy were currently holding our trays up like they're relieved that they managed to save our food from him.

The students inside the whole cafeteria were currently looking at us because Ash was starting a commotion. They're murmuring stuff like 'them again?' which made me sigh because I can really relate to them.

"Woah, wait who is this guy?" the blonde-haired guy asked like they're really confused about his presence, they didn't mind him and glance at me again. Shoot!

"I'm Peter Hughes, from the Sapphire District it's so nice to meet you!" the blonde guy said while offering his hands, I looked at Ash first before holding out his hands and shake them. He's still not saying anything.

Is he trying to control himself? I don't know, but his narrowed eyes were closed like he's trying to think something really deep.

I'm scared of what he might react. I hope he won't be angry...after all, I'm truly dedicated to being loyal only to him. I can promise him that and I hope he can trust me as well.

"H-Hailey Nyx Jaden, just call me Nyx," I said and he just nodded happily before pointing his fingers out to the red-haired guy.

"This is Razer Black and the black-haired guy is David Ronin," he cheerily said, so I faced the two guys and they just nodded at me.

"A-Ah I see, um these are my friends...that's Katherine Tales, Draven Woods, and Ash Flynn Lux...he's my mate," I happily said while pointing to them, which made Ash's head lift like he has heard some good news.

I looked at Kathy and Draven, they're currently putting down the trays because they probably knew that Ash is calm by now.

"What?! You already have a mate?! Nooo!" he wailed again as he kneeled like he was really depressed about it. What is wrong with these guys?

"Forgive him for this, he's a handful so we're sorry for his part...We already told him that you had a mate, but he still didn't get it," David tried to explain, so I gave him a small smile and nod.

"It's your fault because you let us see her picture!" Razer complained, which made Ash walks towards them.

"Can I see the picture?" he politely asked, so Razer gave it to him. Right after he had seen the picture he burnt it with his hands which made our eyes bulged. Shoot!

"No one's allowed to take or keep her pictures, she's mine to fantasize alone is that understood?" Ash muttered darkly before staring at those three, but they just nodded exaggeratedly. Fantasize? What the hell?

"Good, now all of you finally said your names so you're all free to leave, let us eat our lunch peacefully because we have classes later on," Ash said before sitting right in front of my chair.

The three guys all looked at me before waving as they walked away from our table. I just shrugged as I seated casually on my chair to eat our lunch and I was astounded upon seeing an expensive meal right in front of me.

The heavenly smell of Gordon blu was inhaled by my nose that excites my palate, there's a strawberry shortcake for dessert and a four-season drink together with some salad for an appetizer. This is too much, I glance at Ash only to see that he's quietly munching his lunch.

"Hey, Ash...thank you for this food," I said, which made him smile as he continues eating his food, he looks worried and bothered at the same time.

"I'm amazed Nyx! That's the three ferocious human dragons in our University! They're really powerful and every Mortals are trying to get their attention so they could be chosen as their mates! I can't believe that Peter went after you! You're so lucky!" Kathy commented, which made me look at her while shaking my head, pointing it to Ash who just stopped eating his lunch.

"Oopsie!" she piped down before looking at Draven who is currently scolding her because of what she said and wait...those three were the top human dragons in the whole University? I don't get it, they don't look like that ferocious to me. Three idiots would be suited for them though.

"Ash, don't worry about them okay? I promised to be loyal to you, I will keep and take care of your trust," I sincerely said, which made him look at me intently, his silver eyes were glinting with happiness.

"Really?! That's a promise okay?" he cheered, which made me sigh before nodding that made him cheer and stand up on his chair just to shout. I shook my head, he is such a simpleton.

We hurried to finish our lunches as we went to the fields right after the bell rang, Kathy and I change in our training uniforms together and went towards the field where there's a big commotion that causes the students in our class to crowd up like ants on to something.

"What's happening over there?" I curiously asked, so Kathy just shrugged as we continued to butt in to check what's going on.

When we saw those three idiots, I'm amazed when I saw how easily they can charm other girls with their idiocy. Peter caught my gaze so he smiled happily as he went towards my side.

"Excuse-- Hii Nyx! Looking good! You're so gorgeous!" he complimented, which made me really embarrassed for a moment. It almost looks like we didn't saw each other earlier.

"U-Uh thanks, I guess?" I mumbled, which made him cheer again that causes the other girls in our class to look at me, well more like glaring. Shoot I need to escape! They might target me again or something.

Just when I was about to say my excuses, toned possessive arms suddenly wrapped around my waist as he drags me towards his side while glaring at Peter.

"Let me help you to clear things up again Peter, this woman is my mate and no one is allowed to touch her without my consent now would you please keep your distance off her, or I wouldn't be able to control myself and hurt you," Ash warned which made me flinch. He sounds so dangerous right now, not his usual aura.

"A-Ash it's alri--" I was cut off when Ash placed his slightly rough hands on my mouth, am I not allowed to talk now?

I glance at Peter only to see that he looks serious as he looks at Ash's hands on my waist, "You both didn't do the ritual yet right? So I'm still allowed to fight for her!" he argued, which made my eyes bulged.

"No you're not, the rumors were wrong because we did," he suddenly took out his wrist and mine showing a bold flame tattooed mark over which made everyone gasp and murmur around like they have guessed something wrong.

Wait a minute? People were talking about that yesterday?! Is that why he wanted to do that ritual today?

"Don't come near her again unless you have good motives, I wouldn't let you get away with it if you do this again...Peter," Ash warned while looking at them intently.

I saw how pissed Peter looked and wailed like a kid as he left together with David and Razer who I didn't know were just watching us make a scene earlier. I've been hearing a lot of rumors that I didn't hear of up until now.

"Why the heck is Peter after her? There's nothing special other than her looks,"

"Duh, her hot body? Plus didn't you saw what she did yesterday?"

"So they're really mates now...are we wrong?"

"I think we are wrong...he looks overly protective of her now,"

"I know what my eyes saw! There's nothing on their wrists yesterday! So how did he protected her?! It sounds very suspicious!"

What are they talking about? I don't understand...What just happened yesterday right after I have lost my consciousness yesterday?

Kathy immediately went to our side to drag us out of that circle, I wonder what really happened other than the barrier? Mortals and human dragons seem to be talking about it a lot.

"Are guys okay?" Kathy asked worriedly, which made me look at her before nodding. I still can't understand what's going on so I decided to ask her.

"Kathy, what's going on? What's the meaning of this and those rumors?" I asked confusingly, which made her sigh.

"You see yesterday, Ash protected you from that fireball using a barrier to protect their mates and some students noticed that you two haven't done the ritual yet so they're wondering why and how Ash did that even without your rituals and I think they're just mistaken, you both did it though," she said while smiling and I was astounded after hearing that because they're right, we haven't done the ritual yesterday just today so how did he do that?

I was about to ask that when Ash grabbed my wrist. I looked at him in the eye and it almost felt like he's telling me that I should keep it between us, so I sighed and just nodded.

I'm going to ask him about this matter later on right after we go home. Why doesn't he want to tell them? First the necklace and now this? What is he hiding? He's a very suspicious being but why do I feel like he wouldn't hurt me?

"I-I see, thank you, Kathy..." I sincerely said, so she just nodded while gesturing us to fall in line with them. Some of the students we're still eyeing us that is making me feel uneasy.

"I too, actually thought you two haven't done it yet but I'm just glad that it's all cleared up so I'm sorry about that please don't be mad! I'm just curious but not weirded or something," Kathy said while scratching the back of her neck, Draven offered her some bottled water and she gladly accepted it.

"I-Its okay, I don't mind and I'm not going to be mad just because of that though. I mean rumors and pranks aren't new to me I'm just confused earlier," I admitted, so they both just glance at me.

"Don't mind them guys, tomorrow they'll forget everything about this because for sure a new gossip will rise that's how the gossip and rumor cycle works here," Draven claimed while stretching his arms.

"O-Okay...Why are you stretching?" I curiously asked, Draven looked at Ash before tapping his shoulders.

"Oh right, you guys haven't heard about it yet, human dragons will be training today so Mortals and Warriors would be training on their own or you guys can watch us," Draven said as he invites Ash towards the line.

I glance at Ash and he looks like...I don't know he's acting just normal for me, nothing suspicious other than his secrets.

"Hey you look deep in thoughts," I glance at Kathy and she's looking at me worriedly as she offered me some bottled water so I accepted it.

"Thanks, no but I think I'm just worried about Ash," I mumbled, which made us both look at him. He and Draven were just casually talking with each other.

"About what?" she curiously asked while tilting her head just to examine my face even more.

"I-I don't know, it feels like he's keeping something from me," I brought up, causing her to nod like she really understands me.

"I see, then ask him what's bothering you Nyx," she easily said, which made me sigh.

"You make it sound so easy," I mumbled, so she just chuckled before glancing at me again.

"I'm serious hihi! That's what Draven's been teaching me now...mates don't have secrets with each other and we all need to open up if something's bothering us about something you know?" she beamed, so I glance at Ash again and I don't know if he felt my gaze but he looked at me and waved like a lunatic. I guess his usual self is back again.

"Why don't you give it a try after you go home? Cook a meal then dinner talk," she suggested, so I thanked her as we observed what they're about to do.

I'll just talk to him after we went home then.
