“You should get rid of that.”
The words hit me like a bolt of lightning. What did he mean by “you should get rid of that.” Was he talking about something of his, he no longer had use for? or was it something serious and maybe lethal?
Jasmine and I exchanged confused and shocked looks, we were both trying to decipher what he meant. Was Kelvin involved in something shady? Had I thought wrongly about him all along and defended him blindly?
I began to question myself, as Jasmine gave me the ‘I told you so,’ look. I had followed Jasmine to eavesdrop on Kelvin’s conversation, just to prove her wrong. Maybe I was the one about to be proven wrong.
I welcomed the possibility of Jasmine being right. She had had this experience before, maybe it was best to listen to her.
