“Are you okay, miss?” Aleah startled. Her head turned away from the window and the moving scenery of suburban houses to the cab driver watching her from the rearview mirror. The old man, probably in his early sixties with salt and pepper hair, looked genuinely concerned. His eyes moved from the road to the mirror, meeting her gaze repeatedly. “Uhm.” Aleah cleared her throat and forced a smile when it was obvious he was waiting for an answer. “Yeah. I mean… Yes. I’m fine. Thank you.” However, despite her assurance, the old man looked uncertain for a moment, but then he shrugged and turned his focus back on the road and the traffic delaying their journey.
