“Kade. Come in, young man.” Jacob Poverly waved a hand toward the empty chair in front of the desk. His strong voice boomed in the space with an edge of command, even though his face was relaxed in a smile. “Have a seat.” Hesitating for the slightest beat, Kade walked over to the indicated leather chair. There was no weapon in sight, and the old man looked calm. However, Kade still felt as though it was a walk to the electric chair. He had so many questions and they were almost giving him a migraine. It was the first time he was being summoned by Jacob. Why now? Did Jacob know Kade had caught Aleah in Logan’s room? Or perhaps about the guest bathroom incident?
