Baby Shopping

True to his word, Edward took Jared and me shopping once we reached his pack territory.  Between the two of them dragging me from store to store, I have so many little baby outfits and 4 of everything.  Car Seats, high chairs, bath seats, cribs, and so much more.  I am actually starting to feel a little excited.  Jared got me some really nice nursing bras and shirts as well as a cover-up to use while I nurse.  When the two of them told me I had to get a pump, I thought they were joking.  Guess what book they have both been reading, yup, What to expect when you're expecting.  Now they have me a little scared.  I really did not want to know the things they are now telling me.  Since we bought way too much, I am tired and want to take a nap.  We are getting a lot of strange looks from Edwards pack, not sure what people are thinking.  

At dinner, a few people are addressing me as Luna.  I give Edward a look and he just smirks at me.  What the hell is that about?  I keep telling people my name is Elizabeth.  After we have been at dinner for about ten minutes, Jared gets a strange look on his face.  He goes out of the room and returns with a beautiful young she-wolf.  I was right, he found his mate.  They appear in deep conversation, he looks angry, shakes his head and returns to sitting next to me.  I look at him trying to figure out what is going on and he shakes his head.  Suddenly he grabs my hand, leans in and kisses my cheek, and pulls me out of the room.  We go straight out to his car and he opens the door for me.  His eyes are pleading for me to just go with it, so I do.  As he backs out I look at the packhouse door and see the she-wolf standing next to Edward, then she kisses him.  This pisses Jared off, even more, I am so stupid.  We are quickly on the road heading back towards our pack-lands.  Once inside our territory, Jared pulls into a diner parking lot.  He reaches over and unbuckles my seat belt pulling me onto his lap so I am straddling him.  His mouth quickly claims mine and it is the most amazing kiss.  I feel butterflies in my stomach and I am instantly wet.  Jared can smell my arousal and moans.  I feel his member pushing up into my core.

"Jared, you have to tell me what happened."  I feel breathless.

"So that girl you saw me with, she was my mate.  She is in love with Alpha Edward and will accept nothing short of the Luna position.  She claims he has promised to make her the Luna and that is all she wants.  She rejected me again, I accepted.  I told her congratulations and good luck because he was begging you to be his Luna this morning.  Then I dragged you out with me.  Please don't make us go back."

I hugged him, tears running down my face.  "I am so sorry Jared."

"Marry me."  He said searching my eyes.

"I can't make any decisions right now.  It would not be fair to the pups or anyone else.  Please just let me get through my revenge first."

His eyebrows raised as he looked at me.  "What are you going to do Beth?"

"Hit them where it hurts."

We went into the diner and ordered take out.  Jared took us to the Silver Moon Drive-in and we watched a double feature while we ate.  Then he went inside and got popcorn and soda for us.  When I told him I saw someone with funnel cake, he asked them where it came from and returned with one for me.  I felt like a kid in the candy store.  He let me cuddle up next to him and covered me with a squishy blanket that he had in the trunk.  I was out.  I woke up the next morning in my Alpha Suite at the Main Pack-House.  Jared's hard warm chest was my pillow.  Our bodies were entangled and I felt so safe.  This was the case until Edward came slamming through my door.

"You will remove your hands from her"  He roared to Jared.

Jared just blinked confused at Edward.  

In my Alpha tone, I roared just as loud "You will sit down Edward," and I pointed at the couch.  I locked eyes with him showing just how serious I was.  He looked confused but did as I instructed.  

"Why did you leave?"  Edward asked me.

"Your girlfriend made it clear we should not be there,"  I told him keeping my face neutral.

"My what?"  Edward asked looking confused.

"Jared found his mate at your pack-house.  She rejected him because she was assured that you were making her your Luna.  Neither of us wanted to interfere with your lives any further."  I informed him.

"Who?"  He said still looking confused.

"The girl standing next to you when we pulled out.  We saw her put her hands all over you."  I tell him, I am so annoyed that he is pretending to be confused.

"Gina told me that Jared had rejected her because he was in love with you,"  Edward says studying my face.

"Alpha Edward, I followed her scent and she looked right into my face and said, No No No, I am going to be the Luna.  I will not accept anything less.  Edward has promised me that I will be the Luna, I reject you.  Leave.  I told her to pay attention that he did not want her and made her go into the dinner table with me.  I told her to take a good look and she told me again that she rejected me.    Beth was right, I felt an unbelievable pull to her.  I never felt the love everyone talks about.  I have only ever felt that towards Beth and now she will give me a chance."  He leans over and kisses my belly, winks, and heads for my shower.  "Beth, you can join me if you want."  I throw my pillow at him and he laughs.  

Once Jared has left the room I look at Edward and just shake my head.  "I am going to go and see the progress on the new pack-house, I don't have a lot of time left."

"I know, that is why I have everyone from both our packs working on it.  You are going to be surprised just how much is done.  We will leave shortly."  He says smiling at me.  

"You never denied what Gina said.  If you want her, you should not be here.  Jared will continue to take care of me, I am sure you have a lot of things to take care of.  Our agreement will remain in place."  I say as I turn and attempt to leave.  

"Please don't leave"  He whispers.  I freeze.

"Why?"

"It's not what either of you thinks."  

I turn around and study his face.  "I am not going to play any games here, I am not ready for any type of relationship with anyone.  You owe me no explanation, I am just another Alpha.  I have my hands full."  I tell him looking at my stomach as I rub it.  "I plan on getting revenge on my rapists, please don't get me involved in anything that will force me to seek revenge on you as well.  I will not be made a fool."

"A year after my mate passed, I still was having trouble accepting what she had done.  I went to the club with a few trusted men in my inner circle.  They were dancing and drinking as well, some she-wolves were dancing.  They thought it would be funny to have one give me a lap dance while they were dancing with some other girls.  I passed out and when they came back, she was riding me.  I was passed out in the booth and she had pulled me out of my pants and was riding me, her pants off.  They pulled her off but she went crazy telling them she was the new Luna.  I tell her to leave the room anytime she comes near me.  She is obsessed.  I am sorry she rejected Jared.  She could have been happy.  I never promised anyone they would be Luna, I was planning on killing myself back then.  I have too many people depending on me to take such an easy out.  I want you to depend on me, then maybe you will accept me.  I care about you, I am not going anywhere."

"Please tell Jared that we are leaving in an hour for the new house.  Ask him to pack us both a bag.  I don't know where we are sleeping tonight, so tell him to prepare for anything."  

"Of course."
