The Meeting

Alpha Edward's POV

How could her mate do that?  My god, she is beautiful, funny, and so intelligent.  I have been in awe since she walked into her office.  I was pretty jealous of Jared thinking she was his Luna.  Had I not been so distracted I would have realized she was the Alpha.  He did not radiate the power as she did.  I was again disappointed when I caught the three scents coming from her.  How stupid I was to think such negative things about her.  Hey, many of the other Alpha's sleep around but that was not the case.  I did not know how to react when she said she thought she got dizzy from the coma.  What happened to her to put her into a coma?  I just kept asking her questions and she finally told me.  I don't think she tells anyone her story.  How many people realize she is pregnant?  I could tell because I am an Alpha, I never told her I would stay but she wants me to.  I lost control and kissed her.  That Beta Jared did also.  Now what?  I have not felt anything for anyone since Stacy.  I won't allow anyone to attack her while she has those pups inside her, hell ever.

Jared's POV

Shit, I just kissed her.  That Alpha kissed her also.  She said I was hot.  I hope she doesn't fall for him.  I have been in love with her for years.  Her mate hurt her, how could I let him do that.  The evidence shows three people were involved.  She is a fighter, she injured them all.  The blood shows they were injured.  Seeing her rushed to that helicopter while CPR was being performed on her and that tube sticking out of her chest almost killed me.  I took her Grandfathers offer at Beta to stay with her.  I love picking out her clothes but the ones Beta James mate gave her show so much more.  She is stacked.  What am I going to do?  I am in Love.  She is having 4 pups and I just wish they were our pups.  

Edward looks at me and simply says "I guess I am staying.  Can you let me know which room I will be in?"

"The only room I know is ready is this one,"  I tell him opening the adjoining room.  He looks at me confused.  "They prepared it for me but I am staying here,"  I tell him motioning to the couch that is still made up for me.  "We are still sharing a bathroom."  He nods in understanding.  "Same warning, hurt her and I will kill you,"  I tell him and walk out of the room and go to find Elizabeth in her office.

"I am in love with you, how could you kiss him"  The words come out before I can even stop them.

She looks at me wide-eyed.   "What?"

"I really care about you Beth, give us a chance."

Elizabeth's POV

"I care about you very much.  I know it is some type of Love.  Jared, you have not found your mate yet.  She is a really lucky girl to get someone like you.  You can not give up on her.  I can not risk you breaking my heart, you will leave me for her.  As you should.  I am trying my best to put my heart back together now, I know it was months ago for you but I just woke up.  Please don't hate me."

He grabs me and holds me close.  "I would never leave you.  I have been in love with you for years.  I waited for you to find your mate.  I never should have waited.  He destroyed you.  Let me put you back together."  He grabs me again and kisses me with so much passion, I really want him to fix me.  From the time I wake up until I go to sleep, I feel dead inside.  When Jared and Edward kissed me, I felt a spark inside.

"Everyone has a mate for a reason.  You have to try and find yours.  You are not old enough to give up on your mate.  I don't know what we have going but we can continue whatever it is, knowing that your mate will come.  We will respect the boundaries that are expected in that case."

"I have to tell you something"  then he looks at the floor.  "Ok" "When your leg was injured, I used my saliva to help heal you."  I nod  "That was not the first time I used my saliva to heal you."

"Ok,"  I say confused.

"The doctor said that your wolf was not healing you and you needed help.  She told me the injuries she was the most worried about.  I told her I was in love with you and did not want to abuse you like you already had been abused."  Her eyes get huge  "Yeah, that is what she told me to do.  She said that if I cared about you I would help you heal.  Then she left us alone telling me she would come back to check the healing in an hour.  I did what she instructed me to do.  The injuries I could see started to heal and she said the others finally had as well.  I'm sorry"

I hug him, "Thank you for healing me."  I whisper.  I am so embarrassed, my face bright red.

A knock comes on the door and Jared lets me go as Edward comes into the office.  

"So, who knows about these pups?"  He asks.

"Us and the doctor that has been controlled.  She only knows of pregnancy and nothing more.  The human doctor did an ultrasound today.  We used a fake name."  Jared answers.

"OH, No one knows.  Wow, you two are full of surprises."  Then he turns to me.  "You have nothing for the pups do you?"  I shake my head no.

"It is kind of hard to get excited and know what to do.  I am still processing it all.  I did not choose to have s*x with them, hell I was not even conscious.  I only found out today that I am having 4.  I have only been awake for a few weeks and now I have killed two Alphas.   My life has changed quite a bit since I turned 18.  I don't have much time left, I have no names picked out.  So basically nothing is ready."

"Well, tonight we are staying here.  Tomorrow I am taking you two to my packhouse.  We are going to have them start construction on a central packhouse for you, it will make things easier on you in the long run.  Plus we will start construction on a nursery for the pups.  I have the perfect place for you to pick out what you want and no one will be the wiser that you are the Alpha."

"I like the sounds of that,"  I tell him.

"Well, then let's have Jared go get you something to wear that will make you feel more comfortable."

"Yes, please.  Jared, I would really appreciate that."

"Of course Beth, I am heading out now."  

Jared leaves and returns several hours later with quite a few shopping bags.  "These are perfect Jared, Thank You so much.  

As dinner time rolls around Beta James comes and gets Alpha Edward and me.  Jared smiles as we approach the main table, I am wearing a beautiful summer dress that he bought for me.  "Thank you so much, everything looks delicious,"  I tell the women that prepared dinner.  Alpha Edward also gives thanks to them for such a lovely dinner.  "I would love to have a movie night."  They all seem very excited that I suggested this.  As soon as dinner is over the guys run to set up the movie and some of us girls go and start putting together snacks including popcorn.  Of course, someone had to ruin our fun.  

"Alpha, stop hiding inside.  I issue an Alpha Challenge."  Is yelled outside the front door.  Rolling my eyes I go out and stare at the Alpha who is causing the commotion.  Alpha Edward steps outside and blocks my view of the man standing there.  

"I accept states, Alpha Edward."  

"I .. I..I am not challenging you, Alpha Edward."  The Alpha states confused.

"Well, you will leave these pack lands or you will continue the challenge you just started.  You issued an Alpha Challenge and you will not issue another until you fulfill the one I just accepted.  Do you understand?"

"Yes Alpha Edward,"  he says and quickly leaves.

Alpha Edward announces that he wants all guards from both packs to assembly immediately and all other pack members to leave.  Quickly his request is followed.  "No more visitors get near Alpha Eli until further notice.  Do you all understand?"  They look confused and quickly all state that they understand.  "Anyone entering pack lands will be stopped until approved to enter.  We are testing security.  Dismissed."

We all head back in for movie night.  I fall asleep soon after it began.  Hey, I was tired.  I feel someone pick me up and start up the stairs.  I realize it was still dark in the room we came from and nuzzle into the chest of the person carrying me.  Edward's scent surrounds me.  Wow, he is carrying me.  He chuckles, "sorry I woke you up."

"I am ok with you waking me up like this.  Just don't make me walk"  I mumble and he laughs harder causing his chest to rumble.

"No one was paying attention so I scooped you up,"  He tells me.  Once we reach my room he pulls back the blanket and places me on the bed.  "Goodnight Alpha"  he whispers placing a kiss on my forehead and tucking me in.  I used the blanket to shield me and pull the dress off and throw it on the floor.  I can not sleep in that, I might ruin it.

"Beth, just call me Beth.  It's what my dad and Jared used to always call me.  Today was the first time anyone called me that since my daddy died."  

"Goodnight Beth."

"Goodnight Edward, I'm glad I met you."  Then I fell asleep.

Please make them stop, those bastards are beating me and hurting me.  I am throwing punches and screaming.  I keep punching and start screaming.

"Shhh Beth, it's over.  They are not here.  Please stop screaming."  Jared is rocking me and rubbing my back.  Edward bursts through the adjoining door.

Jared's POV

"What the hell are you doing to her?"  He yells pushing me away from Elizabeth.  s**t, his wolf has taken over.  Alpha Edward takes her into his embrace and is soothing her.  She is reacting much faster to his soothing words that she does to mine.  She stops screaming and is only whimpering now.  

"You are Alpha Edwards wolf.  Please tell me your name."

"Chance," he says glaring at me and protecting her.

"Chance, she is remembering her attack from 4 months ago.  I need you to relax and keep her calm."

"Why were you touching her?"

"I am her childhood friend, Beta, and I care about her."

"She is MINE"  Chance says threateningly

"Chance, I need you to relax.  She is an Alpha and she is having a nightmare about an attack that almost killed her.  She is pregnant and you can not flip your sh*t right now."

"She is MINE and you will not touch her."  He says threateningly to me trying to take her into the next room.

"Chance, you will not take her into another room.  She will not be happy if she wakes up anywhere but her bed.  Go sit on the bed with her.  She does not want anyone in the pack to hear her scream.  Chance, Elizabeth is an Alpha.  You need to follow her requests."

"Where will you be?"

"On the couch, see I am here to make sure she is ok.  She asked me to."  he nods looking me over.

"You did not hurt her."

"No, I did not.  I calm her down when she starts screaming, just like she asked me to."

"You are lucky, if I thought you had, I would kill you."  Chance tells me, still studying me.

Elizabeth's POV

The sun is shining through the window and I am snug against someone's chest.  I realize the only thing I am wearing is panties.  I feel something solid against my core, I think it is getting bigger and harder.  Perfect timing, the babies decide this is the right time to kick like hell.  How did I end up in bed with Edwards?  I try and move, Edward has us flipped over and I am now pinned beneath him.  He has his mouth firmly attached to mine in the most amazing kiss.  Both of our tongues are battling for dominance.  His hips are roughly slamming against mine and I feel my legs being wrapped around his waist.  I break the kiss to gain my breath and his mouth attaches to my exposed breast.  His hands start to roam my body.  A moan escapes my mouth and the realization hits like a bucket of cold water.  

"Edward please stop."  My voice is so low, I can barely hear it.  Edward freezes, his eyes fly open.  He is staring at my breasts and his eyes move up my body and lock on mine.

"I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable.  I know this is too fast for you.  My wolf is going crazy, he wants to claim you.  Chance can scent the pups and he wants to claim you all before they are born."

"What do you want?"  I ask Edward studying his face.

"I want to mark you, claim you as mine."

"What about my babies?"

"I want to claim all of you.  I would be a good father to them all."  He says never taking his eyes off me.  "You can trust me, I would never do anything to hurt you.  I can feel a stronger connection to you and your pups than I ever felt for my mate and her pup."

"Her pup?"  I question.

"I found out after she passed that my suspicions were correct.  Her pup was not mine, it was my brothers.  I thought the scent was off but whenever I said something she made me think I was crazy.  I always thought I was supposed to feel more for her.  Now that I found you, I know what I was missing."

"Can I speak to Chance?"

"I will let you, please remember he has a little trouble controlling himself."  after I nod he gives control to Chance.  

Without a moment of hesitation, I am again pinned under Edward's huge form.  My mouth is devoured by Chance.  Another moan escapes my mouth and I have to break for a breath.  "Chance" I whisper out.  His hands pull the sheet from between us.

"mmhmm" he answers his mouth still traveling from my left breast to my right.

"We have to talk."  

His hands are caressing my stomach and his lips are covering my stomach in sweet kisses.  "Mine" he mumbles out and continues to kiss my pups.  

"What do you want Chance?"  He looks deep into my eyes and responds "YOU".  Then he kisses my mouth again, holding me in place.  "I like Edward Chance.  You know what happened?"

"Yes"

"You understand why things need to be slow?"

"Yes"  I grab a pillow covering myself, "Don't do that"

"Do what?"  I ask confused.

"Don't cover my pups, I want to see them."  He says and throws the pillow behind my head.  To my shock, he starts talking to them.  The pups even begin to respond.  Wherever he places a hand one of them reacts and presses into it.  "Kick mama if she should accept me," he says placing a kiss to my belly and they are all kicking like crazy making me laugh.  

"You are crazy,"  I tell him laughing.

"Give us a chance, Edward and I want this."  He kisses me again and lets Edward take back over.  My arms are crossed over my chest.  Edward leans forward and kisses me while moving my arms down to my sides. Then he leans down watching my eyes and kisses my stomach as he caresses it.  I watch him trail kisses all over my stomach, whispering to the babies.  "Kick mama if she should accept me."  Again they are going crazy inside my stomach making me laugh.

"I have to take a shower,"  I tell him with my hands on his cheeks.  I lean forward and kiss him one last time and slide off the bed headed for the bathroom.  Edward heads to the other room to take his shower.  Jared is still asleep on the couch.

After a quick shower, I emerge from the bathroom wearing a towel.  I almost reach the closet when I am spun around and Jared kisses me.  "Edwards wolf took over last night and he wouldn't let me near you."  He tells me resting his forehead on mine.  "I kept checking you all night to make sure he didn't hurt you."

"Thank you, Jared.  I don't think you have to worry about that.  He doesn't seem to want to hurt me.  He wants to claim us all."  I tell him rubbing my stomach.  

"Beth, I will accept you all.  Please accept me."  Jared says staring deep in my eyes.  

"I love you, Jared, I appreciate everything you have ever done for me.  You have a mate.  I can not do anything to jeopardize that.  I need you more than anyone else, but I can not cross the line."

"She did not want me.  I met her, she wants an Alpha.  I want you and these pups, let me claim you all."
