Ella’s POV
This is the day of the coronation.
I am freaking out. Like I am dying to be out of this place and run away. Everything in this room was intimidating and I was only in the royal dressing room.
I was standing with two maids looking around trying to understand what I have to do. But I couldn’t come up with anything. What do I have to wear, what do I have to say.
I have no idea.
The doors were opened and Talia came in a hurry.
“Sorry for being late Luna.” She said and I sighed in relief.
“At least you are here finally.” I smiled shakily and she nodded walking towards the closet and opened them searching for something.
“No no no.” She said looking around.
“Should I be w-worried?” I asked looking at her back.
“Of course not.” She didn’t look at me and continued her searching spree as if no one else was in the room.
“Aha!” She exclaimed smiling.
“What is it?” I asked curiously.
“This is the gown you will be wearing.” She said holding a big box.
Talia removed the lid and took out a royal blue dress. It had long sleeves and a v-neck. It was flowing with a slight sheen that catches the light beautifully.
The gown has a fitted bodice with intricate beadwork. The waist is cinched, transitioning into a voluminous, floor-length skirt with a subtle train that drapes gracefully behind.
There were also sparkling crystals that shimmer subtly.
I touched it gently, and I instantly felt the luxurious silk my fingers touched.
The dress exudes elegance and sophistication.
I was afraid I was going to taint the dress with my fingers so I pulled back.
“It’s okay Luna. This is yours. The dress was designed by the king’s grandmother. She was a beautiful woman with a taste. She wanted it to be a tradition for all the queens that would come after her. The king’s mother wore it when she was crowned. And now it’s your turn.” She said her eyes sparking like the crystals on the dress.
“But I-“
“There are no exceptions Luna. You have to wear it or the pack members would be mad.” She said.
Well now I am more nervous.
“I-I want to be alone when I get d-dressed.” I said and they all looked at me with puzzled eyes.
“Luna-“
“Please.” I interrupted Talia. I didn’t want them to see the scars on my back. I know what they look like and I don’t want them to look at them and know how pitiful I am.
That I couldn’t protect myself from my tormentors.
That I am a failure even for this pack. How can I not when I was weak there and I let them touch me and hurt me.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when Talia touched my hand.
“I am sorry luna but you weren’t replying. We will leave now.” She said smiling. “But I will be back for the make up.”
The three of them left the room and I sighed in relief.
I took off my clothes and turned towards the mirror and looked at my back.
The scars on my back were subtle, pale line that looks slightly darker than the area around them. Over time, the scars have softened in texture and became less prominent, blending more with the skin but still visible.
The memories still hurt even though the scars don’t. I turned my back and walked to the dress holding it again with my bare hands and pulling it out of the box.
I don’t deserve to wear this dress, and I am sure that Remo’s grandmother is disappointed about the Luna Remo has found.
I hastily put on the dress and it luckily didn’t have zipper.
The dress fitted me aa if it was made for me.
I looked at myself in the mirror, when there was a knock on the door.
“Can we come in? Are you done?” Talia asked.
“Yes come in please.” I replied and they re-entered the room with wide smiled.
“With a touch of my make up you will look gorgeous. The dress enhanced the color of your eyes, they are gorgeous.” She said pulling me aside and making me sit.
The make up was natural, it consisted only of mascara and lipgloss.
I can say that I am glowing, with my natural brown curls flowing around my shoulders.
After some time there was a knock on the door.
“Is the Luna ready?” Colt asked. I knew his voice instantly since I became well aware of it.
Remo trusts Colt with me because he always looked relaxed when he is next to me. Colt told me that there were dangers looming around the pack, but that I didn’t have to worry about anything as long as he is with me.
That’s why he never leaves my side. He is always there when I open my room’s door, or any door to be honest.
The only thing that worries me this night is to be challenged. I can’t stand for five secondes if that happens.
“Yes.” I replied and Colt opened the door.
He halted and looked at me with adoration in his eyes. I knew that his intentions aren’t bad, because as his Luna he felt deeply proud.
I hope I never let him down.
But how will I not when I am still scared to even look at Remo.
I know he will never hurt me, but there are always the what ifs.
“The king is ready and all the pack members. They are waiting for you.” He said and I nodded following him.
With small steps, we arrived behind double doors but I couldn’t hear anything. I was confused about if there was anyone behind the doors, until two guards opened them.
There was a huge ballroom with thousands of pack members lining silently on both sides of the room. With fake confidence, I stepped forward and my steps echoed in the halls. I couldn’t see the end of the ballroom from how huge it was, but I was certain that Remo was at the end of it.
Everyone bowed as I passed them. Colt was following my steps, and as I walked forward the view at the end of the room came into view.
Remo was standing, behind him were both Christian and Maddox. The beta and the third in command.
They oozed power and a dark aura surrounded them.
They had poker faces, as no emotion was shown on them. They were the best at hiding feelings.
That is if they had any at all.
Remo pulled me by my hand and I stood next to him on the elevated platform as we watched over the men, women and children present here.
Even the alphas and lunas of the other packs were here standing on the front lines to witness the coronation ceremony.
“Begin.” Remo’s voice boomed and 5 old men approached us calmly.
They were the elders because their aura screamed power.
