Sam can feel the heaviness of Charles' emotions as he relays what happened.
"I realized that I can't hurt her, and that I'd rather hurt myself than to make her cry."
"So what did you do?"
"I pursued her. However, she didn't believe me. At that time, she just behaved as if she just did not want me anymore in her life." Charles paused... "That was painful.
