Chapter 5

Eleanor felt an unexplained peace in her heart. Moments ago, she was so scared that she cannot recall anything about her past. Honestly, she is scared because she cannot remember anything even her own name regardless of what kind of effort she puts in. She was about to cry when her husband intercepted, assuring her that he is at her side. His assurance was more than enough for her to calm down. Yes, she will regain her memories in time. With her husband around, she will know who she is and live the way she used to.

Her husband said that she has been through a car accident. Maybe, that explains the headache she has been feeling all along, but with her husbands gentle kiss, the pain seems to have been disappearing slowly. At the thought of this, she feels warm inside. She leaned her head to her husband's chest and once more, she felt peace. Then she felt her husband kissing her head and gently stroking her hair, feeling every strand as if he missed her for such a long time. She felt happiness deep inside. Ah, her husband really loves her. She is blessed, really blessed.

After staying in this position, Eleanor fell asleep in Charles' embrace. Charles, not willing to let her go, also fell asleep with her in his arms while leaning on the wall on one side of the bed where they are sitting together. It is in this position that Sam and Rey, Charles' butler, saw them when they entered the room to bring food for Eleanor. Shocked at this, Rey almost dropped the tray. If not for Sam's fast hand movement, the food could have scattered on the floor.

Rey was shocked to the core of his being. How could a woman be on Charles' bed without him knowing it? He was just gone for some hours with the maids to buy some supplies, but he felt that he missed big time. Where did this woman come from? Why is his boss hugging and sleeping with her on his bed? When did his boss ever allow a woman to come near him? Let alone allow her to sleep on his bed. From the sleeping couple, his eyes drifted towards Sam. Sam signalled him to leave the room together with him. Slowly, the two men walked towards the door.

When they were out, Sam faced Rey. "From now on, tell everyone that the woman is named Eleanor, and she is Charles' wife. Treat her gently as she is going through medication and treatment. Give her nutritious food and cook the best for her. You are to protect her from anything that could hurt her feelings. If you don't know the answer to questions she may possibly ask, tell her to ask her husband, Also, tell her that her memory would gradually come back in time."

Upon hearing this, Rey nodded as if he understood everything expressed and implied by the words spoken by Doctor Sam. Slowly, he headed to the kitchen with the tray of food in his hands. Tonight, he has to speak with all the maids in this house. Yes, they have a major job to do.
