Chapter 5

Aedion POV

The next day I was in my office when, Adolf bought me the papers which were signed by Mr. Ricardo.

“I hope that you have looked into the matter” I stated as I did not look up from the papers.

“I did. I believe you should take a look once and see that it is according to your rules” he passed me the papers.

“very well. Did you make sure he knows what he is getting into by signing the contract with us?” I asked with raised eyebrows.

“Yes. I made him understand that you will hold the main say if any decision is to be made. I let him know that, you should be the first one to be informed if anything untoward happens” he informs me.

“And I believe he agreed” I said. Once I was done going through the, I signed them and put the papers in my locker.

“We are going for an outing today. Are you coming?” Adolf asked me.

“Will join you in some time” I inform him.

“okay. We will be waiting for you. I will take your leave now”

 He leaves me to my work. The next few hours go by me working and signing the pending work. There were going to be a party of signing the new deal.

Many business men were going to attend it and by this I will have new faces, whom I can use for my advantage. It is not going to be easy as all of them are very crude and are related to be very poisonous among the business. They rule this world with an iron fist. Only time will tell how I will crack it.

I walk out of my office and roam around taking in the works and how the people are going to group meetings, creating different ideas and taking initiative. Life is good as it can be except for the dark world that I have other than this world.

A world where my past makes me not to be even in the same room as the person who took everything from me. Every time I see his face or anything that comes close to it, makes me remember the worst days of my life.

I know that I have no other choice but to bear him for the rest of my life as it is an order given by the higher council. They have ordered me to keep him the pack. They believe him to be not at fault. I had no other choice but to agree.

What I saw with my eyes, is not something to be forgotten. And it is like a rewind button which keeps playing in front of my eyes every time he makes an appearance.

I have to bear him as my beta and I have no other choice but to follow the council’s orders. Not agreeing to them is breaking of protocol. I being an Alpha cannot do such a big mistake. My people follow my teachings. The youngsters follow in my footsteps. I cannot afford to mistake for it will be the failure of my pack.

And that is the only reason why I have accepted my fate and kept him along with me as my beta. He does his job perfectly well, there is no doubt in it.

The only matter is with me and my conscience. How will I forget those dark times when it still flashes through my eyes?

It is not something which can be forgotten within a blink of an eye. It is still hard for me even after all those years. Being an Alpha and losing your entire being is not easy. That is why I stepped into the human world. It is my temporarily escape from reality. The human world makes me forget my past, even if it is for a while.

Once I was done supervising and completing my work, I left for my pack. Around half an hour later I reached the pack house. I was supposed to join Adolf and ben and some of the pack members for a hunting trip. But as it was too late, I decided otherwise.

I went inside and found my step mom and my dad sitting in the living room.

“good evening son” they greet me. I give them a nod.

“How was your day?” my dad asks me.

“it was good. I signed the deal with Ricardo. I will have twenty five percent share in his business and also the right to make decision while crucial times. If he fails to achieve his goal within my dated time, then I have the right revoke the contract and take the matters in to my hands. In that case, I can take his whole business under my wing” I stated with a smirk.

“that’s great news son. Congratulations” says dad and step mom also does the same.

“thank you. Now if you will excuse me, I would like to get fresh and rest for a while” I said to them.

“Yeah, sure. Go and rest” nods my step mom.

As I was going, I turned to my step mom “ask the maid to get my dinner upstairs” I don’t wait for her confirmation and climb the stairs. After a while I reach my room and get fresh. Wearing a clean set of clothes, I lie down on the bed. that is when there was a knock on the door. Thinking it is a maid, I bid them entry.

But it was Adolf who entered.

 What he says next makes me extremely angry. A powerful growl left my mouth at the news. A news which was not something I wanted to hear at this moment. Whoever it is, are going to face my wrath. The consequences will be dire and they won’t know what hit them.

How dare they mess with my pack territory. It is an offense in my eyes. They will know how much of an evil Alpha I am, once they come to my hands.
