Chapter 3 - Present Day

755 Words
ANGELA “Yeah and then you asked me out for coffee; that too in the hospital cafeteria!” I giggle. “Don’t tell me you didn’t like our first date!” He looks at me, trying not to smile. “Well.. It wasn’t a perfect first date.“ I try to tease him. I love teasing him about the “hospital date”. “I had you. It was perfect for me.” He smiles, all charming again. “We talked so much!” “We had so many coffees!” He laughs out loud. “Hungry yet? We can order pizza.” “Pizza sounds great.” I smile. I get off his laps and go to order pizza while he gets up to have a bath. Twenty minutes later, we are enjoying our dinner on the bed, which is an absolute luxury, because we don’t often eat our food on the bed while our favorite songs play in the background. We like all the same songs. Nice, isn’t it? “By the way, you were to shampoo my hair today,” J says, evidently upset. We have the shampoo his hair days, when I shampoo his hair and he loves it, or the foot massage days when I get lovely foot massages, that gives me orgasmic pleasure, or the s*x days, when all we do is eat, sleep and make out, all day long, not necessarily in that order though. “I know. I am sorry.” I feel bad. I really do. “You want me to shampoo your hair?”And I laugh out. He cannot handle my long hair. The one time he tried shampooing my hair, he tangled it so bad that I had to get a haircut. “Baby, I love you for saying that to me. You have no idea how much, but I am good. You are obviously very tired and I went to the spa today. Can we just cuddle instead?” I kiss him. “Sure we can, Princess.” After the dinner, we cuddle up. I refuse to let go of J and gradually fall asleep in his arms. I wake up in the middle of the night. I am snuggled into J's arms, warm and cozy under the covers and I want to have ice creams. I always do when I am less than happy. "J?" I try to shuffle off his arms and that wakes him up. "Yes, love?" "I want to have ice cream." "Huh?" he mutters, half asleep. "Ice cream, I want to have some chocolate ice cream." "Do we have some in the fridge?" he asks. "I guess we do." I say, happily. "Okay doll, I'll get some." he kisses me on the cheek and then goes downstairs to fetch the ice cream. He brings the ice cream, slips in under the covers and hands me the tub and the spoon. "Here you go, love" "You want to have some?" I ask, taking a bite of the yummy chocolate ice cream. He shakes his head. I grin stupidly at him and continue eating the ice cream, while he is looking at me like I am his every dream come true. "What? Stop looking at me like that." I blush. "I love you." he says, simply. "Okay. Tell me what do you love the most about me and why?" I ask, and concentrate on having another bite of the ice cream. All I care about is the ice cream right now. It’s absolutely delicious. "Your eyes, when they twinkle with mischief and with all the love in the world," he says and we're looking at each other like some love struck teenagers, my ice cream long forgotten. God, we’ve been married for almost a year now, eleven months to be precise. Is this even normal? "And..." "Your smile, it gives me hope and makes me believe in everything good in the world." "Okay and?" "I love your lips. They're so soft and beautiful, more beautiful with the ice cream on them." He says and leans in to lick the ice cream off my lips, never once taking his eyes off mine. Forget the ice cream, we end up making love. Yes, this is how perfect my life is, with the three best people in the whole world whom I cannot live without, Jared, Sam, and Mel before she steps in to make it crazy.
