"Ma, Why did you punished Mahi? That too for a silly mistake like this?" Soumyajit asked Ratri who is glaring at Mahi
"Shona she ruined your birthday cake it was the one you choose and now your baba has to bought another one that is nothing like this one," Ratri said
"i don't care ma. The cake can go to hell. My sis can't be punished. That too without a reason. She is a 7 year old kid." Soumyajit said with finality
No one can deny him in his house.
"Fine if you want it then let it be but let me tell you, you're only spoiling her," Ratri said and left them but not before shooting mahi a death glare
Mahi was hiding behind Soumyajit all the time she don't want to come in front of her mamoni and got scolding.
"see I told you na no one can deny me, now get ready princess." Soumyajit said with a smile and left her with mili
She wore the dress soumyajit gave her. She was excited to meet her friend Minerva.
Minerva is Her father's best friend's daughter.
She like her very much. But she hasn't meet Aditya many times. Only two or three times. Aditya mostly stay out because of studies.
He only come in vacation. And currently he is on vacation so he is coming. Mahi is neutral with him. Neither any good relation neither bad. Because basically he is a stranger to her. He is 7 years elder then her.
"Mahi don't do anything that Ratri mam again scold you. Your brother won't be there everytime. Stay quite OK?" Mili asked her
"ok Moni. Can I go now?" Mahi asked
"yes go but you remember the rules right?" Mili asked
"yes," Mahi replied
Mahi came down and saw that Minerva had came with her family.
Minerva got happy seeing her friend. And ran towards her.
"Mahi, I missed you so much how are you?" Minerva asked mahi while hugging her.
"I'm fine Mia didibhai (Elder sister) how are you?" Mahi asked
"Oh come on mahi I'm only 2 years elder then you don't call me didibhai. And I'm also fine," Mia aka Minerva said
She is wearing a sea green cold shoulder crop top and Royal blue long skirt with floral prints
"Mia don't run, you will fell down on your face," Aditya said to mock her
"ma see dadabhai is teasing me again," Mia whined
"Adi! Behave yourself." His mother Ira scolded
He is wearing a grey colour jacket and white t-shirt.
"how are you Mahi? We meet after a long time," Ira asked her
"I'm fine auntie, how are you and uncle?" Mahi asked her
"See How much mature she is, asking about us," Ajay said with a smile
He like mahi very much..
"we both are fine," Ira replied with a smile
"ma I'm going to meet soumyajit. I'm getting bored," Aditya said with a bored look
"Adi where is your manners? You should not leave a conversation in middle," Ajay scolded his son
"Baba there is nothing to talk about me so that's why I'm going," Aditya said and left
"leave him Ajay let him go. He will meet soumyajit," Ira said to Ajay
"Mahi come we will play with your friends." Mia said
"Um my friends didn't came. They are busy," Mahi said embarrassed
How will she say that her mamoni didn't invited her friends and asked her to say Soumyajit that her friends are busy or unavailable.
"all of them?" Mia asked and looked at her in a questioning manner
"yes," Mahi lied she was feeling bad for lying
"ok then let's go and taste the food," Mia said
Mahi was about to say yes but then she remembered she can't eat before the party ends. Mili has told her this
"um you eat I'm full now. I will eat later," Mahi said
"ok, but come with me," Mia said and dragged her
She ate everything that was available in starters. Mahi was only watching her. She was hungry because she didn't ate anything from a long time...
Once Mia is done she started to talk to her about everything. She even offered her food but she didn't ate because her mamoni told her to not
"Mahi come Your dadabhai is about to cut the cake." Mili called her
Mahi looked at Mia who is blushing little?
She didn't understand why her cheeks are red?
"Um didibhai why your cheeks are red?" Mahi asked
"mine? No no it's not red," Mia lied
Actually she is blushing because of soumyajit. She has a little crush on him.
She always admire him.
"come na I don't want to miss it," Mahi said believing her lie
She drag Mia with her..
Soumyajit was standing with his friends and Aditya.
He is wearing a black jacket with white t-shirt.
"happy birthday Soumyajit," Mia said shyly
"thank you," Replied Soumyajit with a smile
"Mia he is elder then you call him Dadabhai." Ira scolded her
"no I won't." Mia denied
"let it be Ira if she don't to call him dadabhai don't force her." Ratri said with a smile
"ok now cut the cake Don't make us wait long," Aditya said
"mahi come, we will cut the cake," Soumyajit call her
She was about to go but one glare from Ratri is enough for her to deny.
Before this party Ratri had give her the list of what to do or what to not.
"no Dadabhai you cut it. It's your birthday na," Mahi said
Before soumyajit can say anything Mainak said
"Yes Babu she is right. You cut it now,"
Soumyajit didn't argued in front of everyone.
After cutting the cake he offered it first to Mahi but she denied saying she don't like the flavour.
Soumyajit didn't force her because he don't want to feed her anything she don't like.
Mahi was sad but didn't show it. Soumyajit feed everyone else.
Then he become busy with His friends. He want to be with his sister but its impossible with other guests around.
"Mahi take it and go outside. Eat it fast and come back soon," Mili said giving her a piece of cake
"but mamoni?" Mahi asked
"don't ask questions go out now," Mili said and mahi ran away
She go to the garden and was about eat the cake but it fell from her hands because she bumped with Aditya.
She look at the cake with tear filled eyes.
"sorry I didn't saw you, because of me it fell" Aditya said
Mahi look at him and fake smiled
"It's ok I am sorry I didn't saw. I'm so clumsy. Ma is right I can't do anything right," She said but Aditya saw her unshed tears
She left him before he can say anything.
Aditya felt bad for her..
She go and sat down in a chair and started crying.
"why are you so clumsy mahi? See you lost the last chance to eat the cake," Mahi said and scolded herself
She is hungry and she really wanted to eat the cake because its her dadabhai's birthday cake.
"Mahasweta," Aditya called her name
She looked at him after wiping her tears.
"yes," Mahi said when he saw him with cake
"take it, I ruin your cake," Aditya offered
"no no you eat it, I don't want it. Its your cake," Mahi denied it
"Mahasweta I'm saying na eat it," Aditya said
"and I'm also saying na eat it," Mahi mimicked him
"ok lets eat together OK?" Aditya negotiate
After thinking for sometime she agreed.
They both started eating it but mahi make a mess by smearing all the cream on her face.
"uh ho Mahasweta see what mess you created. Wait let me clean your face." Aditya said and used his handkerchief to clean her face
"Mahasweta tell me one thing why did you lied to soumyajit that you don't like this flavour when he was about to feed you?" Aditya asked
"vo I don't like it but then ma said its bad to refuse so I ate it," Mahi lied and Aditya noded
"thank you for it. You're a good boy," Mahi said
"well I'm not a boy I'm a man and who knows I'm good or evil? Huh?" Aditya asked
"boy or man doesn't matter but you're really good not mean like others. Now I have to go other wise moni will be tensed, bye" Mahi said and ran inside
Aditya was looking at her retreating back
Its the first time he talked with her properly. And he really felt good after talking with her.
He shook his head and go inside with a smile on his face...
