Mainak came with little Mahi in his embrace who is crying continuously because she is missing her mother's touch.
"shut up b***h, how long you will cry huh? Do you want to make me deaf?" Mainak yelled at her but the poor soul started to crying more
He got irritated and tied his handkerchief on her mouth. Not that tightly that she can't take breath.
He reach his home and open the handkerchief.
He took her with him and saw his son is waiting for him with his wife.
"Baba! Tumi amar bone ke anecho? ( father, did you bring my sister?)" Little soumyajit asked
He was waiting for his sister from long time. When his ma told him that his baba is going to bring his sister he can't wait for it.
"Ha babu, anechi. (yes dear I bring her, babu is an endearment)" Mainak said with a smile
The much he hate Mahi he love his son much more than that. For him he can do anything.
"please I want to see her. Let me see her I want to touch her." Soumyajit whined
"yes babu you will do it, come with me," Mainak said and make him sit with him
Ratri didn't paid any attention to the baby she don't want to see the living example of her husband's betrayal.
"oh my god she is so cute, so small. She is my sister? I will love her very much. I will give her my chocolates I will play with her. I will do everything for her." Soumyajit said happily
For him he got moon in his hand.
"yes baby you will do everything. I have bring her for you only." Mainak said
"ma, Dekho oh ki sundor dekhte, (ma see how beautiful she is,)" Soumyajit said
"ha shona, (yes Shona, Shona is also an endearment)" Ratri said with a fake smile
She look at Mahi and her eyes got struck. She is indeed an angel. Her innocent face can make anyone forget everything. Only any heartless person can ignore her and Mainak and Ratri are those people.
Suddenly Mahi started to cry.
"Ma why she is crying? Please stop her crying. Do anything but stop her crying. My sister won't cry. Stop her," Soumyajit screamed
"Mili, come here and stop her crying." Ratri yelled at the nanny who is here for Mahi now
She is their old trusted maid but now she is her nanny.
Mili came and Took Mahi from Mainak.
Mili stopped her crying after some attempts.
She give Her to Mainak again.
"baba what is her name?" Soumyajit asked
"her name is Mahasweta but we all will call her Mahi." Mainak said
"my sister my Mahi." Soumyajit said happily
"Shona now take your medicines and then you will sleep. Your sister has came and she isn't going anywhere." Ratri said to her son
"promise she won't go back?" Soumyajit asked
"promise Shona," Ratri said and took him with her
"Mili, take her and don't bring her out. I don't want to see her face. When Babu is here bring her. You know your work well right?" Mainak asked
"yes sir I know," Mili said taking Mahi from him
"what kind of people they are? Treating an infant like this?" Mili thought but she can't say it aloud
She also needs money so she has to do her job.
Mahi was her responsibility. Like she is her mother. Mili was awestruck by the little girl...
"baby now you need to drink it. I know you should drink your mother's milk but what can I do?" Mili talk with her
When she was about to feed her Ratri came there.
"Mili, leave her I will feed my so called daughter," Ratri said with an evil smirk
"mam its OK I will feed her," Mili said fearing her smirk
She knows very well how much she hate Mahi.
"did I ask your opinion? Don't forget your place. Give me Her." Ratri said sternly
Mili give mahi to her half heartedly.
Ratri checked the temperature of milk and tsked
"What Mili? The milk is cold you should make it hot." Ratri said with fake innocence
"no mam, the temperature is perfectly alright. I checked it she can't take more than it." Mili said
"I said it right add hot water," Ratri said
Mili added it knowing that it will make the milk hot then it needed.
Ratri touch the milk and flinched lightly but smiled wickedly
"now my dear daughter I will feed you," Ratri said to mahi
"mam please she can't take it," Mili said
"don't worry Mili I won't kill this pathetic s**t I need her alive but that doesn't mean I will leave her easily." Ratri said and make Mahi drink the hot milk
The innocent soul cried her lungs out because it was hot. Not too much but still hot enough to lightly burn her tongue.
Mili cried silently watching this. She is helpless in this case.
Mahi's crying didn't effected Ratri.
She left her after feeding half of it. Mahi's face was red due to crying.
"feed her the rest and if I hear her crying mind you Mili it won't be good and bring her when Shona is awake," Ratri said and left
Mili ran towards the kitchen and bring cold water for her.
She dip a cloth in cold water and Wiped her lips.
She make her drink water so the burning will subside a little.
" how much cruel this women can be? How can mother do it to an infant? Maybe she hasn't give birth to her but this much cruelty? What is this innocent souls fault?" Mili thought as she feed her now the luke warm milk.
Mahi stopped crying at a point because her small body is exhausted with all this.
Mili called her sister who is working in hospital and told her about it. Her sister told her to give her some medicine other wise it will effect her bad.
"sir, mam has feed mahi hot milk she needs to be checked. Other wise it can effect her severally." Mili said to Mainak
"listen Mili I don't care about that b***h. Take this money and do what ever you want but one thing Ratri should not know about it" Mainak said
Mili took mahi to a doctor who checked her. The doctor scolded Mili for this. As she Is an infant they can't give high dose medicines to her.
She just give a syrup to feed her that is eligible for her.
Mili came back with her secretly.
She took her to soumyajit when he was awake.
He was talking with her non stop like she can understand him. Mahi was also smiling with him.
He asked Mili to teach him how to take care of a baby he will take care of his sister.
Mili know in this family only this kid love the poor soul. She promised soumyajit to teach him everything about a baby..
