Chapter Four: The Nerd's Awakening.

Kenzo hurriedly collected his belongings and put it all inside his bag as soon as the class was over. Afterwards, he quickly left the classroom, so that he can escape from Kara Alvarez. He's overwhelmed with the woman's presence, and he feels like he's not in his usual self.

He's now walking down the hallway when he heard someone calling his name.

"Kenzo, wait!"

He saw Kara rushing towards him. His whole body became stiff, and he was unable to move.

"You're walking too fast! Are you in a hurry or something?" Kara smilingly asked him.

“W- What do you want? A- And how did you know my name?” Kenzo nervously asked the womam. He’s not really comfortable talking to a woman, especially a goddess just like Kara Alvarez

"Well, I heard the Professor calling your name awhile ago..." Kara replied.

Kenzo felt his whole face getting warm again, and he knows that he's obviously blushing infront of this beautiful woman.

Kenzo was about to speak when he heard Victoria's voice from behind, and she was calling for Kara.

"Kara, wait for me!"

"S- She's calling you." Kenzo's stammered again. He can smell Kara's perfume, and it reminds him of the smell of the blue ocean...

And it made his heart flutter.

"Just walk with me and pretend that we didn’t hear them! Do you know a place where we can have a privacy and no one will be able to find me?" Kara asked her classmate.

"Uh, I have one place in mind..." Kenzo replied.

"Okay, let's go." Kara quickly said. She then slung her arm on Kenzo's arm.

Kenzo started walking... He can feel Kara warm skin on his own skin, and for the first time, he feels something... Unexplainable.

This kind of sensation is driving him crazy..

"I always go here when I want to be alone or if I want to calm myself..." Kenzo informed Kara, as soon as they reached the University's rooftop.

"I actually like it here." Kara responded, while smiling.

"By the way, why are you avoiding Victoria?" Kenzo curiously asked her.

"She acts like a stalker. And it's creeping me out." Kara simply answered.

"Yeah, she looks like it." Kenzo nodded in return.

“Thank you for your help, Kenzo. Let me introduce myself once again. I’m Kara." she held out her hand towards Kenzo.

Kenzo nervously shook her hand, and they did a handshake.

"I'm Kenzo."

"And you're going to be my friend from now on, okay?" Kara smilingly stated.

Kara somehow feel relieved because she finally found someone that doesn't think of her as a famous celebrity. Kenzo treats her as if she's a normal person, and it made her happy...

It was already nighttime.

Kenzo's in his apartment, and he's been staring at the ceiling for almost half an hour, he still can't believe that he had a conversation with a woman, and he didn't become a total klutz!

He never thought that Kara Alvarez wants him to be her friend! He's also surprised to know that she's one of the famous actresses in the country. He doesn't watch any TV dramas since he would always spend his time reading books or studying, so that's why he's not familiar with Kara...

He quickly reached for his laptop and he typed Kara’s name on the search engine. He saw many webpages related to Kara Alvarez. He found out that Kara won an award as the Best Actress in one of her movies.

He suddenly smiled when he remembered Kara's warm skin on his own skin. And he liked being close to Kara...

Kenzo dreamily hugged his pillow, while sming like an idiot....

He was in the middle of daydreaming when his phone suddenly rang...

He helplessy sighed when he saw his Mother's name at the caller screen. His mind suddenly stopped fantasizing about Kara Alvarez...

“Yes, Mom, what do you want?” Kenzo answered the call, in a bored tone. He stood up and went towards the fridge to get something to drink.

“Wow, what’s with the cold treatment, son?” his mother inquired from the other line.

“Sorry, Mom. I’m just really tired. By the way, how's your trip with Dad?" Kenzo suddenly asked.

“Your Dad and I just wanted to check up on you And we're having a grand time her in France! Our next destination is Germany... We've been in our European tour for almost a month now, and we wished your here with us. How's school, son? And do you already have someone special? Do you have a girlfriend? Did you already “do it?” his mother interrogated him.

Kenzo almost spit on his drink when he heard his mother's questions...

“You shouldn't talk about those things with me, Mom!" he complained.

“Your Dad and I are just concerned about you, Kenzo. I mean, you're a nice guy, and we're just wondering if you're attracted to any girls... You've spent your puberty days with books and not with opposite s*x, and it makes us really worried. Oh, well, it's okay if you have other gender preferences..."

Kenzi rolled his eyes heavenward.

“I’m not gay, okay? And besides, it’s not easy to get a girlfriend nowadays. I just want to focus on studying and finishing College." he replied to his mother.

“My dear, it's not that difficult to get yourself a girlfriend. Look, if you can just ditch your thick glasses and wear contact lenses. And burn your clothes and buy more trendy clothes... If you could just change yourself a little bit, you can easily make someone fall inlove with you." his mother cajoled.

"Here we go again..."

His parents have been playing cupid eversince he hit puberty. He knows they mean well, but having a girlfriend is not his priority as of the moment...

"Mom, I need to go. I have to finish my thesis. Send my regards to Dad--- talk to you later, bye!" he said it all in one breath, and he quickly ended the call.

Kenzo sat at the couch, as his mind is flying elsewhere.

---"Do you have someone special? Do you have a girlfriend?" her mother's questions echoed in his mind again.

Well... Kara Alvarez is just a friend. And there's no way a gorgeous woman like her would fall inlove with an average guy like him...
