Chapter Eight: The Babe and the Geek.

"To make the story short, I don't care if you're good at written exams but since this is a Physical Education class, you'll be better off using your physical strength in my class... I now will start calling the names of those people who will complete Group 1 and Group 2..." Mr. Lee further explained.

While everyone waited for their names to be called, Kenzo couldn't sit still. He has high confidence in written exams, but he's a weakling when it comes to physical and rigorous activities.

"Hey, are you alright Kenzo?" Kara suddenly whispered to him.

"I-I'm okay." Kenzo tried to act cool, eventhough his palms are already wet with sweat.

"The Group One will be consists of 8 people... The members are --- Mr. Kenzo Andrada, Kara Alvarez and-----!" their instructor continues to call other members.

"Great! We're on the same team! Do you know how to play volleyball?" Kara immediately asked Kenzo.

"No. I'm not good at ANY sports." Kenzo emphasized.

"Oh, I see. But don't worry. I got your back." Kara's smilingly stated.

Group 1 and Group 2 members are finally complete. Kara breathed a sigh of relief because Max and Victoria are not on her team, so she's all good.

"Alright, people! Start warming up before the practice game. Just take it easy and don't let yourselves get hurt, okay?" Mr. Lee instructed.

When Kara glanced at Kenzo, she was surprised to see him looking so pale.

"Are you sure you're okay? You look white as a ghost!"

"Why are we even doing this?" Kenzo replied, while looking agitated.

"Don't worry too much. I'll be right behind you. In case you don't know, I was a volleyball stat player back in high school. I was a member of our school varsity, and I'm going to do everything so that we can win this." Kara reassures Kenzo.

"---Okay, your warm-up is over. Go to your positions." commanded their PE Instructor.

As they are walking at the court, Kara's busy giving instructions to Kenzo.

"Remember, Kenzo... No matter what happens, even if there's a naked woman in front of you, just follow my lead, is that clear?" she firmly said.

Kenzo nervously gulped while listening to Kara. He was so nervous, that he didn't realized that the practice game has already started.

"Oh, s**t!" Kara muttered under her breath when she couldn't hit the ball that Victoria served from the other court.

The ball went into Kenzo's direction and it landed straight to his face!

At the same time, Kenzo felt a shocking pain on his nose. And before he could say anything, his vision went pitchblack...

Kenzo opened his eyes...

He immediately saw the white ceiling. He doesn't have any idea where he is right now, until he felt that stinging pain on his nose.

"Owww..." he moaned aloud.

"Kenzo?"

He slowly looked at his right side when he heard that familiar voice... He saw Kara staring at him, and he can clearly see that concerned expression on her beautiful face...

"--You're finally awake, Mr. Andrade." the University's resident nurse suddenly entered the scene.

"Looks like the effect of the painkiller is gone. Here's another one and drink it." the school nurse commanded.

"Please, let me do it." Kara suddenly piped in. She laid down the glass of water and the pill on the table first, then afterwards, she helped Kenzo het up from the bed...

"You're so lucky because you have a beautiful and a thoughtful girlfriend, Mr. Andrade." the Nurse smilingly commented.

"Oh, it's not what you think it is... Kenzo and I are just classmate." Kara immediately clarified.

Kenzo can't help himself but to feel disappointed after what Kara had said. But yeah, they were just classmates, and nothing more than that. And he shouldn't be expecting anything from Kara. Who would even like a geek like him?

"Oh, I'm sorry. Anyway, I'll leave you two first. I need to go back to my table to finish up something." the nurse finally made her exit....

"Here, drink this so that you won't feel any pain and to help down with the swelling of your nose." Kara helped Kenzo with his medicine.

"I'm sorry if I was useless at our volleyball game earlier." Kenzo sincerely apologized.

"Don't worry, we'll get back at them... The important thing right now is for you to take a rest." Kara gently reminded him.

"Thanks for taking care of me, Kara." Kenzo whispered back, as he slowly closed his eyes.

He did not realize that he had fallen asleep due to the effect of the painkillers.

Kara smiled while looking at Kenzo... She took his broken eyeglasses from the bedside table, and she will ask someone to have it fixed. She knows that Kenzo wouldn't be able to survive without his thick glasses...

After a few days...

"How's your nose?" Kara asked, as soon as she saw Kenzo at the University.

Kenzo gently touched his nose. He's still wearing a bandage on his nose, and it hurts every now and then but he can tolerate it. Good thing is, he doesn't need to drink painkiller pills anymore...

"I'm not in too much pain so I think I'm all good now." Kenzo simply responded.

"Really? Let me see it." Kara suddenly spoke. She touched Kenzo's face and stared at his nose.

Kara was intently looking at him. He became self-concious because their faces are close to each other, and she can feel her warm breath..

"Good thing your nose is healing well. It means that you're ready to play volleyball again..." Kara said, in a teasing manner.

Kenzo wasn't able to answer because he's still deep in thought. He can finally admit to himself that he's falling for Kara.

Kara Alvarez is his first love, and he doesn't know what to do with this new realization...

Kara is currently at the Broadcasting Company where her reality show is being broadcasted. She's watching some scenes from their latest shoot with their Producer and Director... She was also surprised to know that there was a hidden camera, and it recorded her private conversations with Kenzo....

She feels very guilty as she watches the video. She feels like she's betraying Kenzo.

"--- Kara, I came up with a very good idea to spice up the reality show a bit." the Director suddenly spoke.

"What do you mean, Mr. Lee?" she curiously asked him

"I think you're already aware that Kenzo's deeply attracted to you... Am I right?" the Director stated.

Kara's not a fool not to notice Kenzo's awkwardness towards her. She sometimes catches Kenzo staring at him, and he blushes furiously whenever she talks to him...

"How is that related to the reality show, Mr. Lee?" Kara questioned the old man again.

"To make the show more interesting, make Kenzo fall in love with you. You can't deny the fact that you have chemistry, and everyone seems to like it." the old man explained.

"I can't do that! I can't toy with her feelings!" Kara insisted.

"If you don't like my idea, I'm afraid I'll have to walk out of this project. I feel you don't trust me. Anyway, there are still many other Directors who can replace me.

Kara suddenly panicked, after she heard the Director. If Mr. Lee will walk out from the show because of her, the shooting will definetely be delayed, and the entire staff and crew will be greatly affected...
