I closed my eyes, trying to conceal my fear as my father's face slowly grew more furious.
Glancing over my results, he uttered in a deceptively quiet voice "what am I looking at?" I slowly opened my eyes and met my father's cold gaze.
"I-It's my score from this semester, father." I softly answer.
He threw it in the floor, prompting me to flinch.
"SO WHY ARE THERE SO MANY C'S AND D'S?!" He suddenly exploded and I couldn't stop the tears flowing from my eyes and down my face.
"I-I'm sorry, father" I whispered trying to wipe the tears away but more and more took their place.
"OUT!" He yelled "DON'T YOU DARE SHOW YOUR FACE HERE, YOU'RE A PATHETIC EXCUSE OF A DAUGHTER!" He pointed to the door, his face slowly growing redder.
I couldn't stop sobbing as I slowly moved away from him, I picked up my results paper, and walked out of my father's office, my father's eyes that contained so much hatred towards me never left my retreating figure. For 6 years this man has looked at me with these eyes that made me feel melancholy.
I could never be his favorite because he knew that I was the ordinary, boring daughter. On the other hand, Audrey was the outstanding one that achieved everything in school and life.
My father was the chief executive officer (CEO) of Collins and Co, Which was one of the biggest companies in New York. He was once a warm and comforting father but ever since Audrey left, he became a cold hearted and uncaring person.
I never blamed Audrey for anything that happened because I knew how happy she was with her husband.
Did I know her current whereabouts? No. I didn't know where Audrey was, but two years ago she sent me a letter explaining everything.
It told me about how sorry she was for just leaving me and she told me about her marriage. Also, it told me how much she and her husband were in love.
I could never say I had any negative feelings towards her because I'd heard how love can make you do the craziest things. I had never fallen in love or even had a boyfriend, I had never had any opportunity to form a serious relationship. My father had ensured that no male could get close to me, so I read about love in novels. I just hope that when my love cames, it would be deep, unconditional and strong enough to change my life.I sighed as I realized that it would never happen because I was constantly surrounded by my 2 bodyguards that caused people to go in the opposite direction.
I slowly walked to my room and threw myself into my bed and yelled into my pillow.
'Why must I live like a prisoner in my own house? Why can't I defend myself from my father's wrath?' I yelled at myself. I should have been able to stand up to the man I call my father, but I was scared of him.
I sigh and look at my scores:
Math – C
English - B-
Physics - D-
Spanish – D
French – C
And so on. No wonder why my father was so upset.
I didn't know how my scores were so low because I was working harder than everybody else.
I took more extra-curricular activities but it didn't work.
I slowly pulled on the letter that was attached to my scores.

Mr. and Mrs. Collins,
We are sorry to inform you that Adrianna Collins cannot continue in our school any longer. Her grades have been consistently slipping for two years and they show no signs of improving.
We can no longer permit her to continue learning in our school because she may affect other students in a negative way.
We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and we hope she will progress well elsewhere.
Yours sincerely,
Principle Langdon.

So I was being excluded. I hoped that my parents would put me in a regular school. I really hate the snobs and rich kids that were in my last school. But, knowing my father, I was going to be home schooled.
Knock, knock...
"Ms. Collins, dinner is served." Ms. Kai informed me, bringing me back to reality.
I sighed as I realized that I would have to see both my parents. I knew that I would have to face the wrath of my father and my mother. I slowly got up from my bed and walked to the dining room holding my breath.

"What do you mean, she can't go there?" I frowned as I heard my father speak to his friend, trying to get me into one of the best private schools. It seemed as though no school wanted me because of my low grades.
"Why do you always make trouble for your father and i?" My mother hissed at me while I was trying to eat. "Your sister never gave us these problems!" She then proceeded to shake her head shamefully.
I tried to contain my tears and finish my food, even though I had lost my appetite. My father came to the table, my heart started to beat unusually fast. I was scared of what insults he was going to throw my way.
"So?" My mother asked and my father just scoffed.
"Her stupidity embarrassed me on the phone," he spat, and I bowed my head, not looking up. I knew his gaze was locked on me.
"Nobody accepted her?" my mother gasped in disbelief, "did you tell them that you would pay two times the usual fee?" I rolled my eyes and I thought 'not everything can be bought, mother'.
"Do you think that I am an i***t," I winced as my father raised his voice, "I've tried everything and they still rejected her!"
Nobody wants me.
I truly am a burden on this family....
