(Naomi POV)
I woke up in the middle of the night feeling so hot. I took deep breaths in hopes to calm down. My power seems to be increasing.
I stood up and stretched before walking out of the room. I feel so frustrated and to add up, it's a full moon tomorrow.
As I was born under the moon, my birthday is always followed by a full moon. The strength of the moon will multiply and thus increases my powers.
I'm weak with no moon.
But it’s not a total weakness. It’s just that my body takes a toll on me if I use too much power without the influence of the moon.
I walked out of the cabin only to be hit with a wave of energy. "It's giving out its fullest energy," I mumbled looking at the moon.
I just hope I can control my powers.....
Sighing, I walked into the forest lit by the moonlight. The whole forest looked beautiful with its greenery and mystical glow.
Fireflies flew around giving out a more romantic setting and I can’t help as my mind drifted to a certain Hazel eye guy.
My face immediately heated up as I thought of the earlier event when my lips touched his cheeks. My heart picked up speed and I felt a surge of chill through my body.
"Oh, my Devine!" I said before covering my face with my hands.
But I suddenly became alert as I heard a sound. Footsteps? But I know it’s not a human.
A wild animal?
My head whipped to the left as I felt a movement in the bushes.
I stood still as a beautiful midnight wolf walked out of the bushes. Its eyes were bright gold and its fur shined in the moonlight. The wolf was a few inches taller than me and looked fierce and mighty.
I immediately went on my knees before bowing my head in submission.
I have faced wolves when I was in the forest alone. They looked like Amaroks, the fierce creatures in my world.
Being a moon sorcerer, my spirit animal is an Amarok and I'm expected to learn, live and protect them.
I know the wolf here and on my land are different. The wolves in my land are more slender and have nine tails. But somehow the wolves on earth have a strong bond with me so they never hurt me.
I know by showing submission, the wolf will not see me as a threat.
Besides, the wolves will feel an urge to protect me since I'm kind of like their guide.
I heard him slowly walking closer to me before taking a huge sniff of my scent. My head snapped up as I heard it yelp in happiness wagging his huge tail.
I smiled at its childish behavior. The big bad wolf doesn't look bad at all with its goofiness.
I laughed as it started to jump and bark. It suddenly stopped and stared straight into my eyes. I couldn't help but fall for it.
His eyes look so familiar. It reminded me of someone.
He slowly walked up to me as I extended my arm. He rubbed his face on my hand and in turn, I scratched behind his ear. He suddenly fell limp on my lap and looked up with its huge gold eyes.
"Aren't you just the sweetest wolf I've ever met?!" I said laughing. "What are you doing away from your pack, Mr. Alpha?" I said as its eyes suddenly widened.
"Are you shocked alpha? I know about wolves more than anyone else." I said looking at the moon. Wolves are so similar to the ones in my creatures. I was even able to communicate with wolves just like with Amaroks.
"Weird right?" I asked looking at him. "But it’s not weird in my world," I murmured as the wolf look at me in confusion.
"I think I like someone, Mr. Alpha," I said as its ear perked up. "I think I like someone I’m not supposed to like. I think I like Railey" I said looking up at the sky.
What am I suppose to do? He is not my Amor. I'm destined to be with another and yet here I am thinking of him.
"Well, it doesn't matter. Tomorrow. It’s my birthday. I'm turning 21. I will forget my feelings for him." I looked down at his eyes which were now filled with confusion. "I know it’s confusing but the world doesn't work how we wish. I'm not complaining but I don't even belong here. I am never to form feelings for him. Yet here I am....."
Suddenly the wolf yelps making me look at him. It suddenly stood up and looked at me before looking at the bushes he came through earlier.
"You need to go?" I asked as he nodded. "Alright. Goodbye Mr. Alpha. I hope we meet again" I said giving it a sad smile. I don't know why but my heart felt heavy at the thought of him leaving.
He gave me a lick and put his nose in my neck before taking a big sniff making me giggle.
"Bye," I waved as he took one last look at me before disappearing into the bushes.
I sighed looking one last time to where the wolf disappeared and then walked my way to the cabin.
