I open my eyes, and I'm in the medical area. Kane is sitting beside me. "You look so much better cleaned up sir." He smiles, "I was starting to wonder if you would wake up at all. That was quite a shock for you." He motions to a servant. "How long?" "18 days." My hands are all healed. "What do I do?" The servants walk in with food. Dorseti comes in with them and takes the blood drip. She kisses my head before she goes. "For now you eat. The last 18 days have been hell. Ylle called in Frey and Tany. So those 3 are barking out orders to everyone constantly about how to react around you. Your dad is still your dad. He doesn't know what to think about it. Dipak won't give back the throne until you tell him too. Tre is lost and trying his best to understand. Well, him and Dipak both are really. The 3 main dragons have given them so much direction. Mainly not to scare you. Because you are still so young. Your mother acts like she has always known. It doesn't faze her a bit. I'm still here waiting on orders from you. So I watch you instead. Everyone seems ok with this. So, yea, 8 dragons 18 days. I'm surprised the castle is still standing really. And not to mention the witches, 10 of those here too. All over Allura. Making sure she did everything right. They brought in someone from the witch counsel to redo everything. It all came back with the same results." I bust out bawling. "They don't deserve this. Neither of them." "They don't deserve their mate?" "They don't deserve to have to share." "That will sort itself out when you feel the bonds. It's only confusing right now." "I want my momma." I hear momma come in. I'm to busy sobbing on my pillow to look up. "Kane, you can go find something else to do." I hear the door shut as Momma sits on the bed with me. I cry into her lap. "Why are you crying my baby?" "I don't want this. They don't deserve to have to share. It will never work." "Those 2 have figured out so much stuff when it comes to you. They will make it work." "No one should have to share their mate. That's supposed to be easy." "It will be eventually. Once the bonds show themselves, it will be easy for all of you. I promise." "Dipak will never share. He will kill Tre." "No he won't baby. None of us can help who we are mated with. They both love you. Neither one of them will hurt the other because they don't want to hurt you." "They should both run away from me and take potions with someone else. Then they could both be happy. They could forget all about me. Tell them to do that, momma. Please." "Baby, they are not going to do that." "Please make them momma. They don't deserve this. Make them go be happy with someone, so they don't have to share." "I'm not going to order them away baby. It would rip your heart out." "I don't feel the bonds yet. It won't kill me. I will be fine knowing they are both happy." She shakes her head. "We don't know the reason yet. But it is this way for a reason." "Please momma. I can't do this to them. Either of them." "I will give them both the option of bonding with someone else. But I will not order either of them away. Or make them do it." That makes me feel a little better. "Thank you momma." "Everything will be ok baby." She rolls me over onto my back and adjusts my head on the pillow. I open my eyes for a second and both boys are watching me. I fall asleep to fast to know if they were really here or not. I open my eyes again and Kane is sitting beside me. I start to cry again. As far as I know, they are already bonded to someone else. The servants sit me up and put food in front of me. I stare at it. Mary feeds me like she has so many times. I can't even speak. I keep saying in my head -At least they can be happy now. I'll find someone later.- I swallow what she puts in my mouth. Once I eat, she lays me back down. The next time I wake up, Kane is on one side of the bed and Omar is on the other. I think it's morning. The servants bring in some food. They put it in front of me and I start to pick through it. "22 days 10 dragons. Castle still standing." "10?" "More help called in." I glance at Omar. "Both boys are still here. Neither will leave you ever." I start to cry. "That means..." I fall over again crying. "That means they are grown men. And trust me, they have had every possible situation explained to them. We all have. They are not leaving. Neither of them." Mary sits me up. She feeds me again. "Mary." "It'll be ok little miss. Everyone loves you and none of this is your fault. We have to move forward. If you want me to lock them both in a tower for a little bit, I can do that." "Not the same tower. They'll kill each other." I start to laugh. "Mary, did you remember to kill Tre's chair? I missed him with the rock." Tre laughs. They are both standing in the room. I didn't notice them before. "I forgot, little miss. I will wait until he doesn't expect it though." I watch Tre and Dipak. Like I'm studying them or something. Back and forth between the two. My vision starts to go dark and Omar says, "Maybe we should try 1 at a time." The next time I open my eyes. Kane is the only one here. "It's only been 2 hours. That was much better." He gives a hand signal and the servants all move. They sit me up with food and Mary, Omar, and Tre walk in. I stare at Tre and Mary pokes me in the arm. "Ouch." "Try to stay awake long enough to eat." Tre is leaning on the door. Mary stuffs something in my mouth. I give her a dirty look. "You have to eat little miss. You can nearly see your ribs again. Swallow it." I eat some of the food while staring at Tre. I never say a word. I watch him. "Kane." "Yes." "What are the chances he is actually my mate?" "About 99.9% and won't actually know until you feel the bond." "What could cause it to be purple if he's not?" "If you were setting up a secondary. Basically, that means if the primary dies before you come of age, it would be him instead. You would never have known about the primary." "Could that still be what is happening?" "Yes." "So I may not have 2 mates? It could be a safety for both of them. Either one dies, I get the other." "Yes, that is another possibility." "What do primary and secondary mean?" "Dipak is the primary. He reads purple for you in all combinations. He is yours. You are his. Tre still reads blue in some combinations. That makes him the secondary. However, blue is still very close and everyone agrees that by the time you are of age, he will read purple in all combinations as well." "What?" Tre smiles. "We're both still young. We're growing and by the time you are ready, we will be mates. We're not ready for that yet." "So we're growing together towards the bond. What are the chances we are actually growing apart? Like it used to be purple, but we're growing apart now?" Kane shakes his head. "It doesn't happen that way. The bonds will mature in 1 direction only. They will not grow apart like that. You either are or are not mates. It's how many of the bonds are already connected that show us the color." Mary shoves more food in my mouth. "Chew and swallow child." Omar nods. "Think of it this way. In your blood are mate markers. Everyone has them. We mixed your and Dipak's blood. All the mate markers liked up for both of you. Every single one. They all connected. You are mates. With Tre, you are lining up with about 94% right now. But the other markers are there for both of you. They aren't connected yet. They will grow together in time." I stare at him. "Can someone say this easier?" Mary puts bread in my mouth. "You are not mates yet. But there is a high probability that you will be later." Tre gives her a dirty look. "And when the bonds all connect, you will fall in love with each other. That's how you will know early." Kane motions at Tre. "We have to start somewhere Tre. Let's keep her conscious please. You're not mates yet. But someday you probably will be. Let's let her focus on that. Give her some time to get used to the idea that she may have 2 mates someday." He rubs his eyes. "Eat more, little miss." "Tre." "Yes princess." "You can attack Mary's chair if you want to." Mary shakes her head, "I will never sit again." Omar stands up. "That is what we're going with. Give her time to understand she may have 2 mates later. It's to much for her right now. Do you understand you may have 2 mates later? Can you process that much for now?" "Ok." I always did like Tre. "Child eat." "It's not very good, Mary." Kane looks at Tre. "Can you send the other one in?" "Yea, and I'll send in some food she likes." The servants bring me little cakes and grapes after he goes.
