Chapter Six I had fallen asleep sitting at the counter, the laptop inches from my face. Wincing at the kink in my neck as I hoisted myself to an upright position, I noticed Leah was sitting on the other side. The look on her face was undecipherable but as she stared at me with her arms crossed, I got the vibe she was less than amused. Her hair screamed of bedhead, though the half empty pot of coffee suggested she had been up for a while. I wondered how long she’d been sitting like that. “Morning,” I mumbled, pushing my own mop out of my face. “Late night,” she commented dryly. “Just doing some research, thinking about everything Fenton told me. Or, more specifically, didn’t tell me.” “Umm, hmm,” she replied. “Seems to be a lot of that going around lately. I hope it’s not contagious.”
