Everything was ready. As I looked over the table of ingredients for the soul detachment spell and triple checked it was all in order, I couldn’t help but feel butterflies flittering in my stomach. I wasn’t sure if it was because I had everything pegged on this spell working or the fact that I was about to see my childhood best friend for the first time whilst I was in my right mind.
Dad was taking longer than I expected. I thought he was just going to talk through how I would do the spell and then they would make their way up here. That shouldn’t be taking…I checked the clock on my new phone…nearly an hour.
