My heart is racing as I lead Raya out of her room and towards the great hall where the court will be gathered for dinner.
It's not nerves about the dinner that have me on edge, though. I've done enough political maneuvering before that I know how the game works. By the end of the night, everyone will know that Raya is someone to be taken seriously.
What's got me worked up is the sight of Raya in that dress.
I didn't know a change of clothes would make that much of a difference, but in the golden yellow gown, there's nothing boyish about her at all. She is still petite, but the cinched waist draws attention to the curves that she does have, and the open neck exposes her collarbone and the slight swell of her chest.
