Gina Morning came faster than I anticipated or should I say because I couldn't get a wink of sleep all through the night. I kept hearing the growling and cries of wolves through the walls of the room. Like they're in a fight with each other. I tried waking Maria but to no avail. She sleeps like a corpse. I was frightened because the sound was so intense that I felt like they will break down the walls. Everyone was sleeping normally as if they didn't hear anything. Yet, I was left eyes wide awake. The sound later stopped when when the weather began brightening with morning. I could feel the heaviness of my eyes due to lack of enough sleep. “Morning Gianna” Maria uttered a yawn escaping her. She looked energetic. I had to bring up the incident to make sure it wasn't hallucination. “Morning Maria. How was your night?” “It was great. I slept so well. You?” “Don’t tell me you didn't hear the growling and cries of wolves fighting last night?” I asked staring at her with questionable expression. It can't be only me. “Wolves fighting?” She repeated her brows creasing. I don't know whether she didn't really hear or she was trying to play pretence with me. “I didn't hear such thing” All of a sudden her eyes went wide and she cover her mouth with her palms. “Don’t tell me you heard something like that?” I was confused by the expression on her face. “Am I not supposed to hear?” I asked. “No. I'm just surprised how you heard it” She grabbed her piece of clothing and made a walk to the bathroom only to get blocked by Vanessa. “I’m sure you know I stepped here before you” Maria said. By the looks of it, she was trying to hold herself from fighting with Vanessa. I thought they were cool last night. I thought as much something like that will happen which is why I showered very early. I know I have a long day of work ahead of me. From the chores assigned to me to the cooking. I closed off the door of the drawer and sauntered out of the room. I was greeted with a quite surrounding. My eyes landed on the clock that was plastered on the wall of the sitting room. It's still early in the morning. They might still be sleeping. I prefer to do my work as early as possible. I'm already used to it. Waking up early to start my morning work and Lady Hilda doesn't complain. But that doesn't change the insults she always haul at me. I contemplate whether to go up or wait for Lady Hera to come down so I could start the work. “It’s better to wait for Lady Hera to come down. She doesn't wake of up as early as you think” I flinched at the voice behind me. Claire. Her first time speaking to me. She walk past me towards the direction of the kitchen before I could speak up. I guess my work here will be different from how I used to do back at Mega pack. I turned back to the room. Maria has already changed into a new set of dress. I didn't fail to notice how it hugged all over her curves. “Wanted telling you that Lady Hera doesn't wake up early. When I came out of the bathroom you were gone” “Yeah. Claire told me. So I will just wait when she's up then I will start my work” She nodded in answer. “Mrs. Rosa should be in the kitchen preparing for breakfast. That woman acts like a ghost sometimes” I couldn't hold in my laughter. “Why do you say that though?” I found her statement funny even before knowing the reason behind it. “She wakes up very early. The first place she visits is the kitchen. Like it's her second home” Well maybe she enjoy cooking that's why. If you love something, you dedicate your time to that particular thing. I don't blame her for that. That's what she love. “What are you guys gossiping about. Let me in” Maria and I turned to look at Vanessa at the same time. Maria said nothing and I did the same. Instead left the room. Fifteen minutes have passed already. She should be up by now. I sunk in a deep breath when I found Lady Hera seated on the sofa sipping what I assumed as coffee or tea. “Good Morning Lady Hera” I commenced as I made my way towards her. “Morning Gina. Hope you had a great night?” “Yes. I did Ma’am” “Very good. Hope you're ready to start your work today?” She asked sipping on her tea. “Yes Ma’am” I answered forming my lips into a thin line. “Alright. You can go ahead and start” I nodded before walking my way upstairs. I started with the guest room first. There wasn't much dust in the room. I don't even know why it has to be cleaned everyday. Since no one is living inside. After I'm done with the guest room, I took charge to Lady Hera’s room. Her room was big enough to occupy two set of bed. The room wasn't that neat. Stuffs here and there. Bedroom slippers out of place. Her vanity mirror was unkept too. I had to think back to what Maria told me about her coming from a rich family. You could tell by how the room was. I wasted no time In tidying up the room not staying to dwell on the beauty of the room. By the time I came down, I was met with Alpha and Lady Hera. “Good Morning Sir” “Morning. Gina right?” I wanted to roll my eyes. Is it that he's not sure of my name or he just want to say that. Nevertheless, I formed my lips into a thin line and answered him. “Yes Sir” “Good. Keep up the good work” “Are you done cleaning?” Lady Hera asked. “Yes Ma’am” Silence follows. I took the gesture to walk away. To give them their privacy. Instead of going to the room, I sauntered to the kitchen. The first thing I heard when I step my foot inside was a singing voice. Mrs. Rosa singing while she do the dishes. I will have to say she has a nice voice. She doesn't seem to notice me even when I marched my way forward leaning my back on the center table. “We’re glowing in the dark turning dust to gold” She sang dragging the lyrics. Before I know it I was lightly tapping my foot on the floor. She finally turned around and her singing came to a halt. “You? What are you doing here?” She asked. “For a while. I see you're enjoying a time of yourself” She wiped off her wet hands with the table napkin. “Well, that's how I work. This is really keeping me company” She fished out her phone from her apron pocket. My eyes traveled to her ears that were occupied with Airpods. Wow. “You have a nice voice though” “Thank you dear. But why didn't you say anything when you came in? “Yes. I didn't want to disturb you” “Well it's new. All the rest of the girls stick to disturbing me. Do you know what they call me?” Somehow I felt my body relax by how free she was talking to me. But last night she looked like someone that will murder you with her glares. I shake my head in no. “They call me the kitchen ghost” She hushed out. I didn't know when a laughter escaped me. The look she gave me made me compose myself. I have almost forgotten that it wasn't a joke for me to laugh. “I’m sorry Mrs. Rosa” I uttered in a calm tone. “It’s okay. That's actually funny. They thought I don't know about it. I'm waiting for the day one of them will mistakenly blurt it out” “I’m sure they won't” I defended even though I'm not sure. Maria just finished telling me about it earlier. She can literally say that to her face. “Including you” I raised my hands in surrender. “Sorry for laughing” “It’s fine. I enjoy my work. So I don't really bother myself with what they say. Hope you're done with your work?” I sunk in a deep breath. “Yes. It wasn't that much” “It wasn't?” She repeated her brows rising in question. “Yes. I'm used to it already. I normally wake up early in the morning to start my work. I found it more peaceful and fast” “That’s good. Unlike the lazy girls we have in the house. Especially Selena” Selena doesn't look like someone who would put her hands into work. Likewise Lady Hera. “You look like a strong girl to me. Somehow, I feel like you will not be like the other girls” I didn't know how to react to what to said. It's new hearing someone call me a strong girl. Maybe living here won't be that bad. Will it?
