Avalon's POV: After winning our game, I catch a ride home with Jesse. "Good game, good blocking," I tell him. "Good attacking and scoring," he replies with a smile. "Do you think the scouts noticed Luciano and Felix?" "I hope so, they’re good players, but they focused on you and Bryce," he shrugs. "Next year I'll be a senior, but that doesn't mean I can't get a placement before then." He nods. When I arrive home, Dad is in the living room chatting with a man. "Hey Avalon, come sit," Dad smiles. I frown, but sit next to him, curious about what's going on. "Avalon West, I’m with a university, and I liked what I saw today," the man says. "I’m one of the scouts at the game." Oh. "You have serious talent; I’ll keep an eye on you, and maybe you could earn a scholarship next year."
